I’m running a micro Komodo in my ultra 24 chassis. I had to remove the front battery tray/skid plate to make it fit. I did use my stock battery tray and put in sideways in the operator’s compartment. I have one screw thru each side door akin to hold it in place. Works good so far. Also made some duct tape limiting straps that go from my servo mount bolts up to the front frame rail bolts. Still get maximum travel but no monster truck lift in the front when climbing. I have LGRP portals on my build, I would love to add some super 8’s but can’t ever catch them in stock.
@@CapeCrawlers yes I run it forward facing, I didn’t even think to flip the skid plate around until I watched your second video. It works great as is so for now I’m going to leave it alone.
@@crawlerobsessed7918 It would, but I am after more speed. I need something with good torque and lots of top end. The torquebeast is a great, smooth crawling motor, but not much faster than stock 88t motors.

That sucks that your original plan for the motor didn't work out. Maybe try the mini Komodo motor or the regular Komodo from Furitek. They're both a lower profile motors so they might fit.
That's a really cool build man, too bad about the motor though, was really hoping to see it in there! And I didn't know that about one of the owners of LGRP, that's too cool he races ultra 4k!
Love the video, I just finished up my Ripper chassis kit and have been wondering about the Ultra. Totally off topic here but do you run front overdrive in your 4ws deadbolt?

I kinda dig it without the panels as well! It comes with the screws for the panels but not the hardware to assemble the body components. I used a healthy amount of my stash for the build

I really wish more manufacturers would concentrate on straight arms instead of the high clearance arms cuz I have noticed on quite a few of them that you don't get the same amount of articulation with the bend I've noticed you get a lot more with the straight arms any good four link setup. But seems to be pretty hard finding straight brass arms everybody makes the high clearance ones
I received this kit a week or so ago and plan on putting it together this weekend along with the high clearance links from little guy so I noticed on the little guy website when you read the description of the links it says that the fronts are 68mm and the rear is only 60mm so is that accurate or maybe just a misprint?

I'm building one of these kits from scratch. The website says use Deadbolt Rear Driveshaft and a C10 or jeep rear driveshaft. What center drive shafts did you use? Anything you recommend instead of buying axial?
I used the deadbolt rear in the back and c10 rear in the front. It worked perfect! The FMS FCX24 Power Wagon is a ton of fun if you're looking for something besides an Axial.
@@CapeCrawlers I meant any Driveshafts you would recommend other than the stock axial? Since I'm building from scratch and didn't use a donor SCX24. I figured I would buy everything upgraded from the start.
Out of all your small scale rock crawlers what would be the one you would recommend, for myself would be my first small scale crawler I thought about the scx24 I like the look an the hop ups, but seen the trx4m and fms etc what would be the one you would stand by
@Cape Crawlers from the scx24 is there a model that is better or they all pretty equal, I'm between the dead bolt, jlu and c10 maybe the gladiator lol to many choices
@@dosfeos805 it depends on what grabs you. Deadbolt and c10 are probably the best performers with the gladiator being very close. But the aftermarket can equate performance across all models very easy. So it really comes down to which one you like the best 👍🏻

It just depends what I have on hand. I've been buying the digital ones as my analogs burn out. I initially bought a bunch of analogs and I'm slowly replacing those units.

If you take the skid plate out and mount the trans and motor to it, it should drop right in to the chassis

That must be a misprint. The rears are definitely longer. I feel like those numbers should be reversed

Scx24. It’s hard to beat the reliability and aftermarket support

If it’s just the transmitter, finding a direct replacement on Facebook marketplace or eBay is probably your best bet.

I just got a set of the Injora extended axles and they’re very nice! Love that they come complete with OD gears up front!

Will the little guy racing swamp kings fit on the stock scx24 gladiator without cutting the body
You’ll need some bigger shocks to lift the body and clear the tires. I don’t think they’ll fit with stock shocks.
