I really wish more people took this attitude towards speedruns. People are so quick to dismiss this stuff as "cheating" or "not really playing the game", when all they've done is expand the possibility space of a game where you can already do tons of crazy stuff just playing "by the rules". Like speedrunners aren't working just as hard to route these skips, glitches, and identify the fastest path possible as the the tabletop grognards are to win slowly by min-maxing within the rules and often additional fair-play handicaps (disclaimer: I do slow-jam solo Tactician/Honour mode challenge runs for this game so I'm taking a potshot at myself as well). It would be nice if people just had a little more imagination and a little more empathy when watching speedrunners work. I'm guessing but it seems he never encountered Orin's shape-shifted form like normal and she was in that form when he found her and just killed the shapeshifted form in one hit before she could shift back to herself.

I noticed because I couldn't jump away then throw my fireworks, then I saw your throw took both action/bonus action. Great run btw, fam! Congrats on the completion and thank you for helping me beat my first speedrun :D
Yep, it seems to be a thing introduced in patch 5 where the end sequence no longer allows two throws of fireworks, which we would've used if we were able to. Instead, I just flew down and threw one alchemist fire instead, which has the same effect.
Congrats on your run! This is an impressive accomplishment in and of itself, but it's even more impressive that you did this well when BG3 and your PC hardware clearly aren't on the best of terms. What happens if you fail Command to get the lantern and the attack roll on Witchbolt? Or the throw on Gorash, or the attack roll on Orin, or the pickpocketing a couple of times?
For all the chance rolls described above: If you fail Command Drop, you do have another level up for more spell slots, potentially 2 levels, giving you 5 45% shots at it. If you don't get it I believe you can still long rest at this point for them. For the attack roll on Witchbolt, it's the same thing as command drop, if you fail the attack roll you can keep attempting it i believe around 5 times at least, sneak improves the chance of it landing by about 10% as well. For the throw on Gortash, if you fail it he still stands there not doing anything, giving you infinite attempts without worry. For the attack roll on Orin, you have 2 chances to knock her out with 2 swings, once manually, then the second time when she's running. If she escapes, just wait around 15-20 seconds and she'll reappear and you can keep trying again. For the pickpocketing on Felogyr, that should not be necessary for the run, I just made a mistake so I needed to do backup strats here to ensure I had enough fireworks. Overall there's not as much RNG as you might think, and it can be lowered as well a bit. Of course, if you fail the rolls overall then tough luck, restarting a run isn't too long, and is common for speedrunners when you get unlucky to retry.
Got to love speedrun exploits. Go from beach in front of ruins to Shadowheart naked heading into the Goblin Camp, camp exploit intermission, then your character is hulk leaping through Rosemary in under two minutes.
