I completely agree with your assessment of Donald's delivery. Many other singers would sound like they were caught in a "Word Salad".... but not Donald. His phrasing is so unique. That may be the reason that not many bands cover Steely Dan. Great reaction, guys. Take care.

Both were wonderful, Steely Dan is my favorite music, but I must say the Eagles killed it!!! He opened with “Josie”, he did Peg, Kid Charlemagne, Black Friday, Rikki Don’t Lose That Number, My Old School and Reelin In The Years”. Gentlemen, I cannot wait for you to react to “JACK OF SPEED”; I think you will be further impressed by Steely Dan ❤.

The band musicians listen to at home. Every record was done by hand picked guys in studio. Who ever fit the vibe for a solo or a special sound in any given song. Fagan and Becker were the band, plus the great artists they had join in studio. Check Kid Charlemagne and Black Friday. Also Royal Scam and Daddy dont live in Ny City no more. Greats all.

Steely Dan has so many incredible deep cuts. On there first seven albums there would be perhaps only a handful for which I would change radio if came on. Jim Gordon - drums, Chuck Rainey - bass, David Paich - electric piano. And Denny Dias and Jeff Baxter (two superb guitarists), along with Fagen and Becker. Great thing if you read about the guitar work for this song - SD guitarists know when they’re the perfect guy, but also know when another is the perfect guy for the job. All comes down to their respect for Fagen/Becker.
