It's great that Tampere decided to build a tram network! Beautiful trams running very frequently. The city also looks really nice and modern. Great video as always!
Re 2:53 Tampere also has a few island platforms. There is one place where this could be better for interchanges, however, it precludes the use of unidirectional trams with doors on one side even if turning loops are added on new extensions.
The routing of lines 1 and 3 was actually changed this summer. Before this line 1 went from Kaupin Kampus (shown as TAYS) to Sorin Aukio, and line 3 from Hervanta to Santalahti. This was done in preparation of extending the line from Sorin Aukio south to Pirkkala and East from TAYS to Linnainmaa. Also TAYS stands for TAmpereen Yliopistollinen Sairaala (in english Tampere University Hospital)
The lines were changed because originally the line 3 had way more passengers than line 1, thus they wanted to ease the overcrowding of line 3. And now the lines are way more evenly used.
Now after the expansion to Lentävänniemi is open the line 1 is equally busy than line 3. In fact the lines have so much passangers that in some stops people must wait for next tram due to first vehicle is full.
Ey, as a Finn i can confirm that they are being used, this summer i came from the Train Station and decided to go to the tram. I came to the tram and they were overcrowded. (as of this summer lol) Also we needed to do a refund thing bec of "C vyöhyke" and one "Nyssemies äijä joka näytti viralliselta" (Nysse (bus in tampere dialect)man dude who looked official) and he said that test driving to Lentäväniemi will come this autumn.
Please make an update on daugavpils trams! Pretty much the whole system has been renewed, the new route 5 has been opened and all the stops have been modernised aswell the new locally built trams are running!
Tampereen Ratikka and Škoda continue to work on innovation and today released a video of the testing of autonomous depot operation. The relevant video can be found on the @SkodaTransportation channel.
Wonderful video! I love the tram system there, it is a wonderful combination of trams and light rail. Maybe for the future: next year, Düsseldorf (Germany) is opening its light rail section to the airport. Maybe a video could be a possibility then
new tram systems have very big advantage in terms of vehicles because they dont need to adjust the length, width or space between boogies of their trams to some old parts of the infrastructure. these skodas x34 would be great for example to brnos line 8 (where is running its little version skoda 45t) but they wouldnt fit in some stops or in some parts of tracks in curves😥
Tight curves on old system are the enemy of modern trams 😅 this new generation of Škoda trams wouldn't even exist if Helsinki didn't get screwed over by Bombardier with trams that cracked from the tight turns in Helsinki's tram system.

Tampere city council and Pirkkala county council both voted yes and gave the green light to the expansion of the tram system to Pirkkala and the Linnainmaa district. In 2032 it will be fully completed and operational. Let’s go! 🚃💪🏻 Construction should begin in November-December 2024.
@@realdronthegoI will be quite familiar with this tram system in the future. I was chosen for training as a driver in Tampere. Out of 500 applicants only 10 were chosen. That’s 2% of all applicants 💪🏻🚃 I will begin my training in February 😎

Indeed, very good execution! Thank you!!
Fun fact: The X34 Trams are potentially being extended to 4 cars, as the platforms at stops were made longer for futureproofing.
Really like that you cover so many underrepresented systems. These trams look great (like all Škoda trams, IMO)- especially when they get up to speed.
Thank you! Yes, they are very well designed!

Yes, even some older parts of websites were not yet updated 😁

Was waiting for thsi video and I'm not disappointed :) Gotta properly visit Tampere one day
Thank you! And yes, Tampere is definitely worth a visit!
They desided not to use same numbers in bus lines and tram lines. So those tram lines 1 and 3 are replacing bus lines 1 and 3.
Ah I see! Thank you for the addition!
I am here now, einjoying these trams :) A good service.
Nice! Have a good time!
Fantastic work as usual, no doubt! I am very looking forward to the video from Helsinki!❤
Thank you!! The video of Helsinki will come later this year 😁
Remember traveling in 2010 to Tampere and wishing that city has any sort of rail public transport. Finally! :)
Example for many other cities, that do not have something yet

Good job 🤩 Waiting for the videos from Italy !!!😁
Thank you!! 😁 They will come for sure 😉

I have it in my mind!
They look so good and what a system to be, I have high hopes for their system!
Exactly, a lot of good stuff happening. Hopefully the extensions will get approved by both municipality councils!

Yes, I saw that too😁
Well done, Tampere. Something that Vilnius could easily have if not for our lack of vision and backward politicians.
Exactly! Tampere shows it can be done!

About next year, my plan is slowly getting fuller 😁

Indeed, although the 45Ts are also very good trams. I really liked their ride quality as well. It is very good that Brno is getting more of them!

@@shroomyesc Is the real enemy curve radius or curve that are missing (adequate) transition curves?
