Thanks for the video. I am living in Gliwice since not so long ago. And even I feel the pain that tram network was shot down here, with bus (even though at least partially electric) replacement. This agglomeration is unique and it's live, there is a lot changing.

BREAKING: Tramwaje Śląskie, operator of the tram system, has accepted the offers for both the 13.5 meter and 25 meter trams. In the case of the 13.5 meter trams, it will be the Moderus Gamma, according to Transport Publiczny. This would mean it would be slightly different than the existing Betas (except for the looks). In the case of the 25 meter trams, the manufacturer will be Pesa. The particular model is not mentioned.

I'd say that this is the best english-language video about Upper Silesian trams. There are a couple of small mistakes but overall it's great!

Great video! I only want to mention that we use district names outside of city center. Therefore Brynów, Dąb, Szopienice & Zawodzie are a part of Katowice even tho you can't see it from this map

Nice video, a lot of effort put into it (as always). I was in this system in 2022 and only traveled a little bit there, compared to it's size (Bytom, Chorzów, Katowice, Szopienice and Sosnowiec - when line 15's extension was finished). Since that i often change in Katowice for another train when visiting other polish cities, but I should visit this system again and ride more 😄I mostly met Pesa trams, because they are in Katowice a lot 😅. It's surprising to me that the city Katowice itself has only a little of the network. And good thing is that it's not too far from borders of my state.

Od 2008 roku łącznie zostały zlikwidowane tramwaje: nr 4 w Gliwicach przez centrum do Wójtowej Wsi nr 8 z Bytomia do Piekar Dąbrówki Wielkiej nr12 z Chorzowa do Siemianowic nr18 z Rudy Śląskiej Chebzia do Bytomia przez Rudę Śląską Południową nr25 z Będzina do Wojkowic Łacznie to około 60 km. Sukcesywnie niszczono infrastrukturę tramwajową, rozwiniętą za czasów PRL i wczesniej. Dopiero teraz coś się mówi o budowaniu nowych linii ale w zupełnie innych miejscach.

The entire section in Dąbrowa Górnicza is renovated now, it's very nice. Also you missed legendary tram 27 to Sosnowiec Kazimierz Górniczy - tram goes single track through bushes.

The 2 expansions BKK is trying to push to reality currently are reconnecting Deák Ferenc tér M with Lehel tér M via Bajcsy-Zsilinszky út and Váci út, destroying the overpass at Nyugati Pályaudvar M. The other expansion they put to public consideration which is to extend line 42 to the Havannatelep soviet housing block and later to Szent Lőrinc-telep, it would also create a tram connection to Kispest Honvéd FC's stadium the Bozsik aréna along the way.

There are currently two possible expansions of the network brought to public consideration by the BKK, these are extending line 75 to Kápolna tér with a new line 75A running on the current route, the plan would see more buses on the main part of the route via line 75A, while line 75 would connect the soviet era housing blocks of Kőbánya with metro line M2 at Puskás Ferenc stadion M. The second extension would see line 81 completely rerouted with line 80 taking its place towards Fischer István utca, this new line 81 would at first follow the path of lines 82/82A until Komócsy utca then it would take a right turn into Szugló utca and at corner of Szugló utca and Miskolci utca it would take a left turn and go through Miskolci utca, at the end it would join line 74 at Sárrét park and the line would end at Mexikói út M, line 74A would cease to exist with line 81 taking its place.
