Hi there! Getting ever closer to the goal of hitting 1000 subscribers. It would really help me if you subscribe to my channel, ensuring I can keep making videos like these for years to come :)
Haha I would like to, but as I film and edut everything myself, I need to plan it a bit ahead 😁 It is on my to-do-list, I just have to see when I can make it happen :)
Fantastic and very comprehensive video about Istanbul's tram system! A few remarks, the video title kind of implies that the tram is connecting 2 continents, which is not the case. The only rail based strait crossing is done by the Marmaray commuter train. Also, there is no modern tram system on the Asian side yet. 2 tram projects are in the planning phase. The 1st one to connect Uskudar with the Harem bus terminal, and the 2nd one to begin in Kadikoy and go along the minibus street (dolmus caddessi), a busy street between and alongside the M4 and Marmaray. And yes, none of the currently operating systems are compatible, which makes fleet maintenance and trolley purchases so much more difficult and expensive. It's a clear lack in proper planning and vision as they just build these lines as self sufficient systems, without having connectivity in mind (metro and tram transfers are awful and waste to much time).
Thank you for the expansive comment! It was rather hard to find a good title due to the rather odd nature of the system, while including Istanbul’s unique location on this planet. You can see a lot of work is happening, but I hope they will add better connections between the separate lines and new lines will use similar technologies as line T1😅
There are technically two trams on line T4 that are compatible with line T1 and that are the Düwag B80S en B100S, because they have folding steps from their time in Cologne so the vehicles could also use the low platforms on the network
Amazing presentation, all the best for tve growth of your channel. Best part is more clips of the actual place. Keep it up. Expansion could be shown in th3 actual map for better understanding
