🎵🎶 Dance your cares away 👏👏 worries for another day! Let the music play 👏👏 down at Fraggle Rock! 🎶🎵 Man, this was such a big part of my childhood. I'm so glad these guys are still around and still being appreciated.
You can see lots of Fraggles and tons of other Henson stuff, from the first Kermit to Dark Crystal, at the Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta. Their collection is incredible.
Fraggle Rock had such a huge impact on my life. I didn't really realize how much it affected me until I re-watched it with my daughter. So much of my personal world view was shaped by those goofy little puppets. Fun fact: Sugith Varughese who was also on The Expanse, he played David Paster(also played Mr. Mehta on Kim's Convenience), was one of the writers on Fraggle Rock.
Mine also I would love to get this for my centerpiece of my Muppet collection. Of course the Muppets and sesame street Muppets would be just as much a centerpiece but they would only be replicas and this is real
@@funkymonk4688 darn I hope it's on Disney plus or I'm going to have to get yet another streaming service. I've got 12 different streaming services already
So grateful to be part of the team working on the new Fraggle Rock. Its incredible seeing these creatures come to life via the very talented & passionate puppeteers and actors.
For anyone that doesn't remember a lighthouse, that's because the human owner of sprocket the dog was regional. In the UK he was a lighthouse keeper named the Captain.
OMG FRAGGLE ROCK. I looooved fraggle rock as a kid and still get the theme song stuck in my head. Also, omg that specific fabric for the muppet. That explains a lot for how the shading works on TV
Adam, such a treat to see! Thanks for sharing this cuteness. Fraggle Rock was such a fund show when I was a kid. Someone took such good care of this critter. Hope the next owner cares for it well too. So cute
With his comment that “he’s been to the lighthouse” he forgot that the external scenes were different depending on the location. So in the UK, we got Mr MacKay from porridge as the lighthouse keeper. In the US there were inserts filmed in Toronto.
This is great! So jealous of whoever has the winning bid on this. Fraggle Rock was a huge impact on so much of my generation and I passed that joy onto my kid too.
Adam gets to play with loads of movie memorabilia, and the auction house gets to advertise to millions of people. This is what RUclips should be all about.
One of my television arts teachers in College worked on the original Fraggle Rock TV show in the 80s. He always had lots of great stories about those productions, back in the day!
One of my best memories of the fraggles is, if I remember right, one of the characters was called booper fraggle. I remember making friends with a kid, and his significantly older brother had the nickname of booper. Almost 40 years later I meet a kid at work, recognize the last name and asked, is you're dad's name xxx, he says yeah, why? I said I grew up with him and remember your uncle booper, (can't remember the guys real name to save my ass,) and he goes, my dad remembers you, but I have 2 older uncles, and i have no idea who "booper" is.
OMFG! THANKYOU! i've been looking for high quality reference for my replica for EVER, and everything i found was some distorted JPG or such old footage its not useful apart from shape and colour, this texture is SUPER HANDY, for making my replica look right!~ ❤
I remember this from my childhood. It was during the time we had still cable TV with HBO. At some point we dropped cable TV and went to outdoor antennas (back in the days you didn't have pesky HOA's with their restive CC&Rs banning the use of roof-top antennas). Neat to see them again.
Holy crap! Merlin's Helmet flashed on the screen! And then I looked, and THE HOLY GRAIL from Excalibur is for sale! AND HARRY POTTER'S WAND. OH MY GOODNESS!
Same thing caught my eye... Merlin's skullcap helmet. Made my own a long time ago, it is kinda crappy TBH. had to find out what the real deal is going for... oooof. Yeah, that's not gonna happen! But the pics are amazing, a good ref for giving it another go.
LOVE everything from Mr. Henson! Speaking of LOVE, check at 0:33 out! Items from John Boorman's : Excalibur ! " ...looking at the cake is like looking at the future... "
I got a quick 'walk-through' of the living-room set for the TV series 'Dinosaurs' during their first season. Pretty much what you'd expect, but what floored me was how badly the place stunk of paint, glue and other volatile things. The prop-guy explained that they are constantly repairing and re-painting the set, props and puppets...filming while paint was still tacky at times. With full ventilation to control lighting-heat it wasn't so bad, but the air in the set was toxic after sitting closed up for a day or so.
This year (2024) I’ve discovered some great Fraggle plushies made in the 2000’s by a company called Sababa. They are extremely show accurate, good size and most importantly- feather type wafty hair! Recommend for any FR fan! And at a relatively cheap price on the secondary market!
I was an extra on Muppets From Space. We wrapped a shot and Fozzie’s hat fell off as the muppeteer was leaving set. No one saw it but me, but I immediately picked it up and flagged her down to give the hat to her.
What a wonderful, brilliant little guy... Love that show and all things Henson. I too have been to the Fraggle lighthouse in Cornwall.. although I actually went there by accident. What a happy accident. Also, I just looked on Propstore and this little guy sold for £50,000
I had a moment where I had to remind myself that fraggles aren't actually tiny and the puppets need to be big enough for puppeteers to actually perform with. The Jim Henson Creature Shop still astounds to me with its simple mastery over the suspension of disbelief.
I see a lot of people trying to place this guy, or thinking he was a main character. According to the auction, "this Fraggle is one of a horde of unnamed background characters that followed Gobo, Mokey, Wembley and Red on assorted escapades. He can be seen in various episodes wearing different costumes, but his slightly wonky eyes remain consistent." He may not have been a main player, but he's still amazing 😃
"That guy"??? Unless I'm wrong, that's actually a puppet of Gobo Fraggle: one of the main group of protagonist characters from the show. I recognize that head/muzzle shape anywhere. I almost thought it was Wembley from the thumbnail, but he had yellow skin and hair.
So is it only flocking on Miss Piggy, then? I understood that a lot of that fuzzy look on the puppets was flocking, but I could well have got it wrong.
Hi Adam, In one of your previous videos you used a tape measure where the first 12" was black background with high visibility yellow letters. Can you let me know where you purchased it? Thank you!
OK I'm really jealous. Any Muppet would be Mt ultimate collectable with Kermit fozzie animal and gonzo being my most wanted collection. Goober Fraggle is the fraggle I'd most want also
The Fraggle is amazing! please forgive me for asking an unrelated question though? That poncho on display behind Wembley, beside the little extraterrestrial what is the origin of the poncho, who wore it and in what film or series, please?
I'd like to say it's from 'The Good, the Bad and the Ugly,' but I'm not 100% since I haven't watched it in a long time. It fits the look of the other costumes in that movie but that's not the one Eastwood wore, so not sure why it would be so prominent in the frame. Could be from one of John Wayne's million movies but good luck researching that, lol. Maybe it'll get featured in another video while Adam is there because I'm curious now too.
i got RED from fragile rock stuffed animal as an Christmas gift or birthday. still put up one of those you got as a keep sake. when you have a hit show one of my favorite s was “SPROCKET” the dog. they had him puppeteered through the dog house. i remember they had another one they used for stunts shot across the room cart wheeled that grey dog was my one my favorite i had a wind up doozer remembering red had a trike she rhode around on a track in the doozer world today masterly restored videos for kids compared to what’s out their would still work to entertain new generation.
Check out the props and costumes from Propstore's upcoming auction: bit.ly/propstoreliveauction
Will he do what he never did with Rick Lyon: build a blinking hand puppet?
It sold for £40,000 (£50,000 inclu buyer's prem)

hey pepper jack
Memories of introducing fraggles and Muppets to my daughter as well. Good to revisit these gems from our childhood.
"Let's eat Doozer constructions" 😁
Fraggle Rock was my childhood.
Fraggle Rock was my JAM as a kid. Thank you for bringing back memories!

Mine too
the Gorgs used to scare me as a kid so i never watched the show fully. Perhaps i should now that i'm a grown adult.
Apple TV did a reboot of it thats actually not half bad at all. My kid and I bond over it for sure

WOW,! PLEASE PLEASE tell me Spricket will be back!😍
Which department do you work in, if I may ask?
For anyone that doesn't remember a lighthouse, that's because the human owner of sprocket the dog was regional. In the UK he was a lighthouse keeper named the Captain.
Oh!!!! 😮
FYI, you can see this puppet in the opening sequence of Fraggle Rock on the far right wearing a red jumper.
OMG FRAGGLE ROCK. I looooved fraggle rock as a kid and still get the theme song stuck in my head. Also, omg that specific fabric for the muppet. That explains a lot for how the shading works on TV
It's wild how alive it looks even sitting still. Masterfully crafted.
It's weird seeing a muppet holding perfectly still.
Yeah, it just feels kinda wrong honestly.
Few things make me happier than an Adam Savage kid-in-a-candy-store reaction! Your joy and awe are infectious!
1:42 oh my god yes
As an animator, god this is genius! I never thought of them using feathers to account for secondary action!
Why do you think so many wrestlers have long hair?:)
Adam, such a treat to see! Thanks for sharing this cuteness. Fraggle Rock was such a fund show when I was a kid. Someone took such good care of this critter. Hope the next owner cares for it well too. So cute
I loved Fraggle Rock as a kid. This is wild to see an original performance puppet from the show survived.
With his comment that “he’s been to the lighthouse” he forgot that the external scenes were different depending on the location. So in the UK, we got Mr MacKay from porridge as the lighthouse keeper. In the US there were inserts filmed in Toronto.
Yep. In the US it was under Doc the inventor's workshop.
Even after nearly 40 years, the theme song still occasionally pops into my head
as much as i loved the Muppets on Fraggle Rock... i LOVED the Doozers! they were the builders and makers for Fraggle Rock!
I use to watch Fraggle Rock, when i was a kid in the 80's !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Very Cool
Also as a Dutch kid we were influenced by the beauty of Henson's creations. You could only love this! ❤️
Oh I have such fond memories of that show. What an amazing opportunity to see one of the puppets!
This is great! So jealous of whoever has the winning bid on this. Fraggle Rock was a huge impact on so much of my generation and I passed that joy onto my kid too.
Man, I have the entire final season of Fraggle Rock on DVD. this is great!
I haven't thought about this show in ages, but dang does this unlock some good memories
Adam gets to play with loads of movie memorabilia, and the auction house gets to advertise to millions of people. This is what RUclips should be all about.
God this really takes me back,I was about 7 years old when I first saw this on HBO back around 1980!💖💖💖
I was older than 7 but not yet a teen in 1980 and I loved them too 😊
Fraggle Rock was one of my favs as a kid. Thank you for sharing❤
My absolute favorite childhood kids TV show.
One of my television arts teachers in College worked on the original Fraggle Rock TV show in the 80s. He always had lots of great stories about those productions, back in the day!
Down on Fraggle rock! (Clap, clap)!
This is such a blast from my childhood past, so awesome.
This makes me legit so jealous.
Puppets give the world a happier place to be. Jim Hinson was, and will always be, THE consummate creator of this unique Happiness.
Loved Fraggle Rock as a kid! Kinda wish ya'll would have let us seen the back side of the Muppet.
ah man that's a childhood memory right there getting that fraggle rock DVD from the discount movies bin and watching it with my siblings
LOVED Fraggle Rock as a kid! So cool

I think you mean Boober Fraggle. He's the one with the hat over his eyes. Boomer is a common nickname.
@@writerpatrick yeah, I remember the fraggle, grew up with it. Btw, now a boomer, I was born in 1976 so I'm technically gen x.
OMFG! THANKYOU! i've been looking for high quality reference for my replica for EVER, and everything i found was some distorted JPG or such old footage its not useful apart from shape and colour, this texture is SUPER HANDY, for making my replica look right!~ ❤
its a shame we couldnt have a look at the back or underside to see where the seams were.
Dance your cares away. (👏👏) Worries for another day.
Let the music play. (👏👏) Down in fraggle rock!
I like Junior Gorg, and hope Adam could create a costume and do an Incognito Comic-Con walkthrough (If not too busy)
Down at Fraggle Rock! I loved that show as a kid in the early 80's.
I remember this from my childhood. It was during the time we had still cable TV with HBO. At some point we dropped cable TV and went to outdoor antennas (back in the days you didn't have pesky HOA's with their restive CC&Rs banning the use of roof-top antennas). Neat to see them again.
The greatness of Fraggle Rock aside, this is a beautiful puppet up-close. Wow!
Pepper Jack LOVE Fraggle Rock!
THAT'S WEMBLEY !!!!
☺️☺️☺️
It is possible that this Muppet came from the recent Back to the Rock web series. That would explain why it's in such good condition.

So many memories! My brother had the teddy of Gobo & I had Red! :)
Who else wants to see Adam AS a muppet? *lol*
I believe someone actually made him one a few years back!
pbs.twimg.com/media/DPSp8DhXcAA_rCB.jpg
He have that Fraggle Muppet hair 😂
Didn't the people making Wallace & Gromit make an Adam Savage bust and presented it to him?
He'd look a lot like Travelin' Matt, I think. Haha.
"You know, I'm not made of magic, but I do the best I can" - Gobo Fraggle
I'd be interesting to see Adam try to build a muppet.
He did. There’s an episode series on this channel from a few years ago.

Aww, that brings back memories
Looks just like Wembley. Back when this was first on HBO they used to replay the episodes over and over and we would just watch them 5-6 times each
some of the items in that auction are off the scale!
🎵 Let the music play worries for another day 🎵
Adam savage must be watching my youtube history. i literally watched Fraggle rock a few days ago to remember what it was like.
Was that Merlin's metal skull cap from Excalibur (1981)?

Yeah maybe it is. I thought it was Red
Nope, not Gobo. He had purple hair, an orange body and tail, and a purple tuft on the end. He's currently in the National Museum of American History.
The curator may have known all that about muppets by I didn't...thanks Adam.
One of my favorite shows.

That’s awfully big for a Fraggle! 😉
If that's the size of a Fraggle, imagine how big the Gorgs are! 😉

Mannnnn. I loved that show as a kid as well all of the muppets. I wonder how much this sold for?
Does anyone know?!!
At least 4 people will know
Little Fraggle is currently at £ 30,000. Glad I could enjoy the 6 minutes with him/her.
I just checked a few minutes ago and it looks like it's hit £40k!
