I am proud to say that I was part of the choral ensemble who brought this piece into being. Voce was and still is based on Northern Virginia and our director, Carol Hunter, wanted to commission a piece that expressed what music means to singers. Daniel Gawthrop’s gorgeous music and his wife, Jane Griner’s breath-taking lyrics made for what few of us ever see: an international best-seller. Still goose-bumps me decades later when I get a chance to sing it.
just a wonderful piece of music I performed years ago both with my school choir and with my church choir....doing it at church tomorrow in honor of a deceased long-time choir member who passed recently....thank you Mr. Gawthrop/Ms. Griner
I think that is one of the most beautiful renditions of that song that I have ever heard! Technically, perfect! But the emotion that it brought out was stunning❤. Thank you so much for putting this out for the world to hear.
I truly love this song and over the years it has been such a favorite of so many of my former students and colleagues. Truly a choral and spiritual gem. Nice work, Brady and Vocal Artists.... and a huge shoutout to the composer, Daniel Gawthrop.
Sublime In my heart's sequestered chambers Lie truths stripped of poet's gloss Words alone are vain and vacant And my heart is mute In response to aching silence Memory summons half-heard voices And my soul finds primal eloquence And wraps me in song Wraps me, in song If you would comfort me, sing me a lullaby If you would win my heart, sing me a love song If you would mourn me and bring me to God Sing me a requiem, sing me to Heaven Touch in me all love and passion Pain and pleasure, touch in me Touch in me, grief and comfort Love and passion, pain and pleasure Sing me a lullaby A love song A requiem Love me, comfort me Sing me to God Sing me a love song Sing me to Heaven

Sublime
In my heart's sequestered chambers
Lie truths stripped of poet's gloss
Words alone are vain and vacant
And my heart is mute
In response to aching silence
Memory summons half-heard voices
And my soul finds primal eloquence
And wraps me in song
Wraps me, in song
If you would comfort me, sing me a lullaby
If you would win my heart, sing me a love song
If you would mourn me and bring me to God
Sing me a requiem, sing me to Heaven
Touch in me all love and passion
Pain and pleasure, touch in me
Touch in me, grief and comfort
Love and passion, pain and pleasure
Sing me a lullaby
A love song
A requiem
Love me, comfort me
Sing me to God
Sing me a love song
Sing me to Heaven
