    Consumers can never win, people now are buying last-gen GPUs for their originally intended MSRP while they're 2-3 years old with the new offerings being marked up, so really Nvidia is winning either way.

      Yes I loved that as well. However in Germany you can easily get the 6950xt for around 850€ so when the 6800xt is at 1000€ at caseking that doesn’t really make sense for anyone to buy.

    I don't think retail prices being just below msrp for last gen is good enough. Nvidia has been driving prices up for all their Skus for the last 3 generations now. Nvidia now plans on keeping the mid range from last gen around this time and pushing back the improvements as far as they can to milk the most popular price bracket. Remember when 1060 and 960 were below 300 bucks?
    The only option I support is buying used at least Nvidia is not getting the money and is better for the environment.

      @@Wobbothe3rd This is incorrect. Components did not go up THIS far. The 4090 is only $100 more expensive than the 3090 Ti, but the 4080 is $500 more than the 3080. See what I mean? It's blatant price manipulation (which we know because that internal message to investors was leaked). In reality the 4080 should likely cost around what the 7900XT costs, with an eventual Ti model appearing at $1200.
      The jump from $700 to $900 would be upsetting, but then the component cost argument would hold SOME water.

    6700xt prices are pretty good in germany now.
    I got my 6750xt für 418 Euro, two weeks ago.
    The 6700xt is around 450 Euro right now.
    Really nice card for 1440p.

      I dont care through. Its 2 year old hardware in some cases. MSRP inflated launch prices, and first now they are becoming what they should had been on launch. Is it just me thats tired of the thought of giving that much money for 2 year old stuff? Not even LG oled TVs or some other hot commodity item kept that prices that much as GPUs.

    6800xt cards can be found for low $500s. I think some have stated there were coupon codes to bring it sub 500 in some cases. Same can be said for the 6900xt cards. They can be found low $600s and even just under. Not bad relatively speaking

      Pick up used Evga 3070 FTW3 for $360 about two weeks ago. Same came in pristine condition. No damage, burn mark or even dust on it. Hell even the protective plastic film on Evga logo weren't removed yet lol.

    People, don't buy rtx 3000 series cards, they are not cheap at all. They are still at their launch prices. Nvidia made 4080 so expensive to force you buy them at those high prices. Just don't buy. They will have to lower prices. But if you buy them, then you are hopeless.

    If you can't play cyberpunk at 4k with max settings at least with 45 fps money spent for less is not usefull. I think DLSS 3 and FSR 3.0 will be VERY VERY important in the upcoming years for the insane grafics like Unreal Engine 5.1

    "How many of you play maxed out?" can be laid out this way.
    Most games : You can't tell the difference between Ultra and High when you're focused on not crashing in Forza instead of oggling the paint or realistic render or trying to not die in CoD, let alone trying to achieve some objective.
    Total War games : Ultra and Extreme at least makes the battle look bigger than just two Earls arguing about something during the Dark Ages. However, looking like two Earls arguing about something might be the only alternative to playing the Siege of The Stuttering and Crashing Walls.

    Let them all rot on shelves because much of the MSRP prices were set based on inflated mining prices, the only ones i'd be buying is the 3080 at $550-$600(new), the 3050 should be at or around $190 at this point, and the 3060 12GB should be around $280 at this point.

    My 1440p monitor performs best from 120hz to 165hz. Anything around 100hz and below introduces ghosting with certain movements. I can dial down the details to get my required fps but I want high settings at least for the nicest graphics.

    I still play on 1080p, and only plan to upgrade to 1440p. On top of that I don't really use DLSS and Ray Tracing, so yeah last gen(RTX3000 series or Radeon 6000 series) will be plenty enough of an upgrade for me, compared to what I got now, and will last me for years.

    The problem with AMD Is that whilst their core performance is great, they have neglected to develop addon technologies such as temporal upscaling and their ray tracing methodology is much less efficient compared to Nvidia.
    Their lower price reflects less demand.

      They literally have FSR 2.2 released recently and FSR 3.0 announced. How are they NOT developing temporal upscaling tech?

      @@raresmacovei8382 also, if we do consider FSR 2.0, we also have to address the inefficiency. FSR uses standard Cuda cores, which means that running it uses up processing power that could be otherwise dedicated to rendering. It is very inefficient compared to using tensor cores and in this respect FSR 2.0 is even behind intel alchemist (which for all of its flaws utilises dedicated "XMX" tensor cores).

    Almost no GPU at the moment is good value and it's funny looking at that 4080 sitting next to the 3080, both cards draw about the same power but we're expected to foot the bill for an over spec'd cooler on the 4080.

    8 months ago I copped a 3090 at 750 USD and gave my old 1080ti to my friend. previous gen savings in used markets are just peak savings sometimes.

    ONLY cards that are somewhat normal price right now, at least in europe, and worth buying, are the 3090s. Same price with 3080s (!), double memory, +performance. Great for CC.

    With Nvidias lack of discounts there is simply too much sales on 6800XT, 6900XT and 6950XTs to ignore. According to HUB 6950XT gets more FPS at 1080p low than 4090 while paired with 13900k in WZ2. I got myself 4090 even if its price is sad the temps, noise and performance is great. Playing mw2 4k low over 200FPS with 5800X3D.
