5:05 Will wait for more detailed analyses on DLSS 3 and frame generation especially because of the potential latency penalty is larger on lower end cards with fewer tensor cores. Just as older RTX cards benefit less from DLSS 2 the further you go down.

Na come one dude don't fall for it and say the 4090 isn't overpriced at 1600 bucks because you're comparing it to the 3090 at 1500 bucks. That's the exact trap Nvidia set up because the 3090 was always ridiculous and over priced at 1500 dollars. So the fact the 4090 is only 100 more doesn't change the fact it's 100 more than a previously overpriced card. That's not really a fair comparison that's just a marketing trap. "Look it's only $100 more than our previous 3090 even though our 3090 was ridiculously overpriced" Not to mention the 3090ti at 2000. They made the prices on those cards ridiculous to normalize it and convince you that type of pricing is worth it.

Considering Nvidia and Intel have been known to buy good reviews, this was absolutely bought.
    1. Gamers Nexus showed it hitting almost 500 watts on more than one occasion
    2. You exclusively chose benchmarks that were in the 2x range while almost all reviewers agree in will get a 50-80% rastur buff at 4k max settings
    3. There is no world where $1,600 is okay and all other reviewers agree with that. We used to be able to get top tier consumer performance for $700 and titan class performance for $1,000. Prices like the lock out a vast majority of gamers who crave the latest and greatest. By pricing this out of reach for most they cator exclusively to their customers with deep pockets while ignoring their primary audience.
    4. You just sound like you don't believe what you're saying, almost like there's a nvidia representative holding you hostage.
    5. Other reviewers made it very clear that DLSS 3.0 is very similar in its issues to DLSS 1.0 and is definitely better suited as an early stage DLSS replacement instead of a flushed out upgrade

I run a 144hz 4k monitor, and as much as I want to leverage this GPU to hit those frames, I've been a bit put off with Nvidia's direction/attitudes. If RDNA 3 can hit 80% of the performance but lower TDP/power draw/price, I'll probably go team red this generation as a market protest move... The performance is amazing, but I feel like Nvidia shouldn't be rewarded for their current stance in the market...

One thing: There was little to no talk about the big reduction in latency you get when you use DLSS versus native resolution. Everything was centered around any possible loss of image quality versus higher frame rates. I never heard anyone talk about the feel of gameplay benefit you get by using DLSS in terms of a cost/benefit of image quality to gameplay feel. Since the image quality loss of DLSS is very small in the areas where it does look worse (it often looks better in some areas, as well), then how big of a deal could the latency reduction have been? Now frame generation comes along with a latency higher than DLSS 2 but sometimes still lower than native with no DLSS at all, and latency has become a big deal.
My personal opinion? There's a lot of paranoid sensitivity to "flaws". Test the gameplay feel in a double-blind experiment to see whether a difference between 28 ms and 38 ms is noticeable. And if it is, it still raises the question of why this issue was in general not brought up when talking about DLSS 2. I know in the past increase in smoothness and latency reduction went hand in hand, but there wasn't any big push to deliberately consider the latency when judging the merits of DLSS 2.

Yeah… about running dlss 3 on low end hardware. It doesnt hold up when temporally upscaling from fewer frames. The latency gets pretty bad and the artifacting becomes much more apparent. Hardware unboxed and digital foundary did very in-depth videos diving into the technical aspect of dlss 3.
Dlss 3 is purely for making games that already run well display more smoothly on high refresh rate monitors with adaptive sync BUT run below the max refresh rate of the monitor to make sure vsync doesnt kick in.
Also I know you dont cover VR but I wonder how well it would work to run the pico 4 at native resolution or quest 2 at 120hz.
