When it comes to peer to peer warfare it doesn't matter how many ships you build if you build the wrong ones. Going forward I would stress less budget eating missile magnet super carriers and more $ spend on destroyers and subs. Some of the savings could/should also be spent on life extension programs for the Ohio's and Seawolf classes. If the Zumwalt's do in fact work and work as well as I hope they do then reactivating the program might make sense. In the age of hypersonic anti-ship missiles this makes much more sense than more and more carriers. At least to me.
The third Zumwalt started being built before the US Navy canceled the primary weapon (if I am not mistaken). As for the Littoral Combat ships I don’t know, maybe the contract for their construction was already signed and payed for.
Contracted vessels scheduled or under construction can't be cancelled without reimbursing the ship yards for their costs. Some vessels were cancelled. Zumwalts were to include 32 hulls originally. 29 were cancelled. The LCS program was cancelled & the vessels are to be decommissioned this year (2023) as ineffective in any of their designed roles. They frequently experience breakdowns & failures. Several foreign navies have expressed interest in acquiring some modified vessels as they plan to employ them for coastal defense, ie, Taiwan & Saudi Arabia. So no, Mr Harper, you're not confused.
For every US naval ship built China builds 5, merchant marine 10 to 1...Shows like this are really about the US slowly trying to catch up after falling asleep at the wheel....the Zumwalt has become a joke.

I don't see any ice breakers listed. Both Russia and China are planning to build some. The Arctic Circle is the reason why.
Russia is a third world country and so is China..
Subs are built in Connecticut.
I'm so confused I thought littoral class and zumwalt were discontinued cause cost wasn't worth what they were made for. Can someone fill me in?
Me too, I'm in agreement with Mr. Harper
The third Zumwalt started being built before the US Navy canceled the primary weapon (if I am not mistaken). As for the Littoral Combat ships I don’t know, maybe the contract for their construction was already signed and payed for.
I’m starting to think not everything on RUclips is legit.
@@Kishanth.J thank you
You've forget about our(USA) underwater nuclear powdered submarine capabilities.
?
Buyers welcome....
Gotta keep the CEOs of those defense contractors rich somehow!
Yeah it's not like the navy is actually vital to national defense or anything
Putin and Xi thank you for that.
Yes indeed. All the US Submarines under construction are nuclear.
Anyone else find it suspect the narration is from a Chinese women?
Yeah but really none of this is secret so at least the Chinese get some views and likes.
Glad I wasn't the only one that noticed.
Great......Swedish AI lady again.
For every US naval ship built China builds 5, merchant marine 10 to 1...Shows like this are really about the US slowly trying to catch up after falling asleep at the wheel....the Zumwalt has become a joke.
Harvey milk? I'm sure no one wants to serve on that ship. In memory of a colorful freak...
Imagine if all tanks are painted with pink color.
What an embarrassment. Democrats will bring us that low. Shameful the woke crap they push on the military. Who needs Russia & China as enemies? We damage and disgrace our selves.

OK 👍👍👍
Why would you report this even if wrong
Its going to take 3yrs or more..just to floatout..so 5,6 years.
Not RI... Connecticut
Aircraft Carriers should, generally speaking, be named after Presidents (not all are) and Destroyers are often named after sailors or other military personnel, usually marines, who win high medals. USS Lyndon B. Johnson should be an Aircraft Carrier and USS Doris Miller, who won a Navy Cross for his heroic actions during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, should be named after a Destroyer.
Nah. Fuck the presidents. They should go back to names like Yorktown, Lexington, and enterprise
I noticed there are no new ice-breakers under construction according to this video. I hope the video is wrong.
The current trend is: there is no new ice, hence, no new icebreakers.
@@scottgalbraith7461 I am not sure if you are writing tongue in cheek are you are badly misinformed. The politicians (not scientists) selling the global warming hoax have not been honest with people. You do know that more ice is appearing in the Antarctic than is disappearing from the Arctic right? Also, you may want to consult with the Navy or the Canadians regarding the need for ice breakers. The current trend is the US is falling behind in the race by the Russians and Canadians in the search for oil and other resources in the Arctic. Further, if you read the US Naval Institute's Proceedings you would know that Ice Breakers are instrumental for our national security and maintaining the right of free passage through the northern pass in the Arctic. I suggest you diversify your sources of information and run away from anyone who uses the words "global warming", "climate change" and "new ice age". If all your news is from CNN you will only become more dumb.
@@josephnoneofyourbeeswax8517 I'm 52. I've watched it change locally and globally. I know we have less to do with it than politicians and some scientists say, but that's beside the point. Fossil fuels? Really? You can scream about being lied to all you want but being behind Russia and Canada while looking ahead to other energy sources sounds like the plan. I was goofing off but it sounds like you have a peculiar axe to grind with someone else.
@@scottgalbraith7461 Sorry if I came across too strongly. I am 57 and have additionally lived overseas. I have a degree in engineering and you are right. I have an axe to grind with many other people so I was not fair to you. Fossil fuels are the single biggest blessing to world outside of our Lord and Redeemer. We have misused fossil fuels as is to be expected and we are certainly wasteful but there is no replacing fossil fuels. The energy content per volume is too high, short of nuclear power, there is very little like it that is as safe and available. I like nuclear power, fuel cells and hydrogen power but wind mills and solar panels are as dumb as plastic grocery bags and I called that one early too.
The artic ice is melting.. scientist says by 2030s the artic will be ice free
Good video Bazz thank you But as I saw, 2 Columbians were built
Please made a video on upcoming missiles of India .

Isn't it strange to name a navy vessel after a city in a foreign country? Who likes to serve in (on) Falluja? 😂
It is named after a battle
@@MikeS309thanx, a battle that the USA won?
💯🤯
Meanwhile, China has 203 warships under construction...
But low quality 😂😂
If China think they have a chance on sea, they need to think again.
China better stay their a## inside that damn wall.
Just gonna throw this out there. Save you some time and money. Anything with any sort of VPN can be tracked and traced by an advanced civilization. Didnt realize you were playing flashlight tag in broad daylight did you? Carry on lol
Blyerta
We currently can’t keep up with China.
You mean there destroyers with only 64 vls?
Imo they aren’t getting built fast enough. China is outpacing us so bad they basically make the same tonnage as one of our allies navy’s every year. I don’t know the exact numbers but it is bad
Under the current administration, more ships are alercatered for decommissioning than ships to be built:)
In that case, it is a good thing "alercatered" isn't a word.
there is a good reason for that. The ship's being decommissioned are trash or useless
👍👏✊
China 🇨🇳, Iran 🇮🇷, Russia 🇷🇺, North Korea 🇰🇵, Syria 🇸🇾, Venezuela 🇮🇷, and Belarus 🇧🇾. Be prepared for your navy's demise.
be prepared
All them poor ass countries 😂😂
Why is the Navy wasting time with the LCS?
Marines need a ride.
@@scottgalbraith7461 I suspect you’re thinking of the LCAC acronym, not LCS.
(“Landing Craft, Air-Cushioned” vs “Littoral Combat Ship”)
The contracts for them can't be backed out of for some reason
Narration needs to be by someone who knows what they are talking about !!!
The ship uss harvy milk was a queer shot and killed in san fransicko what and insult to the men who serve on it i served on uss oxford agtr1 and uss Halsey powell dd 686 2nd class gunner mate 1966 1968
It’s not USS, it’s USNS. It’s a support vessel that will be operated under Military Sealift Command. It’s a Navy ship, but not a fighting vessel.

Zumwalt and Liittoral Combat waste of money combat ships.
Um, excuse me, it's the Little Crappy Ship. The LCS has earned its name; we should all respect that 😉
@@FunnyQuailMan LMAO. I am sorry I forgot there proud nic name. I just thought they were taking the meaning of tin can a bit to serious. We put a lot of recycled illuminum cans to make them.
If they feel the need to name a ship after Trump. Make it a garbage Scow.
I am waiting for the USS Barack Obama a.c.c. as well as the USS Donald Trump a.c.c. Maybe they will skip the last one and built the USS Joe Biden a.c.c.
That’s not how it works it is named after someone who has done something in the Navy with Washington and Kennedy being the exception. HW Bush, Ford, Eliensenhower, Truman and Nimiz all served in the Navy.
@@niweshlekhak9646 Eisenhower wasn't Navy he was Army, so was Truman. they named the two because they were former President's.

europe is shaming us!
US navy vs 500 hypersonics 😂
By the times these ships finish build....!!!!!!! China have quadruple the total US build already......!!!!!!!
quality over quantity.....
Your right because almost half of chinas fleet are small patrol boats. Those patrol boats inflated Chinas total number of naval ships.
China's shit navy doesn't have anything remotely close to the American nuclear submarines or aircraft carriers. They could never conquer Taiwan because they don't have the ships nor aircraft to land a sufficient force on the island to do it.
doris miller? who is that?
