    Personally I wouldn't mind it if the Navy built a couple new Hospital Ships. We currently have two, the Comfort and the Mercy, aging ships that are really repurposed San Clemente-class oil tankers, we could use some new ones built from the keel up to be hospital ships.

    Military Tier list:
    S: USA(All of their wars were fought more than 10,000km away crossing oceans. King of logistics. Largest air force in the world, power projection, largest fleet of carriers in the world, the most advance military on the planet. The US military is the only military on earth which is capable of bringing it's army to any part of the world to wage war).
    A: UK(Finest soldiers, well trained, naval power projection), France, Israel(Lacks Navy and size, but Israeli technology is on a different level because of innovation. Arguably the best fighter pilots in the world, The Israeli Air Force has a historical kill ratio of over 19:1. The Israeli Air Force has shot down almost 600 enemy planes (including 5 Soviet MiGs in one 3-minute dogfight with zero losses. Israel ran war games about 20 years ago with an American carrier and just plain wrecked the US Navy. Out of 240 dogfights, the Israeli F-16s downed 220 F-18s, and lost only 20 - for an 11:1 kill ratio. Israel could possibly beat the UK or France in ground and aerial war if hypothetically they were beside one another but will very likely lose in naval battles. UK and France have power projection, they have the capability to wage war far and beyond their region while Israel is only regional.)
    B+: Russia(If we consider Russia's nuclear stockpile, they belong to second only to the US in terms of overall military power. Lacks power projection), China(Manufacturing power, large army, lacks power projection), India(Large army, mountain warfare, lacks power projection), Japan(Treaty restriction, technology prowess), South Korea(Their technology is to be reckoned with.)
    B: Turkey(Probably belong to lower end B+), Taiwan, Poland, Greece, Germany(Potential of being higher), Australia(Military size is small, but well trained and equipped with advance weaponry), Canada(Well trained army but lacks the size), Italy, Brazil, Spain
    C: Ukraine(Bravery10/10, S tier. Currently has the best guerilla warfare), Finland(Fought the Soviet and loss only 25,904 troops while the Soviet loss 126,875-167,976 troops), Sweden(Known for their silent diesel-electric submarines), Pakistan(Here only because of nukes should probably be higher for the same reason. Without nukes they belong to D)
    D: Iran(Iran is durable, war of attrition will favor them in long drawn out wars.), Egypt, Saudi Arabia
    E: Vietnam(King of Jungle warfare), Indonesia(Formidable jungle warfare), Philippines, Malaysia

      @IsraelMilitaryChannel Год назад +4

      @@markcooke5270 Well you could argue that their opposition sucks, but the Israeli air force pitted against Soviet pilots in Operation Rimon 20 and down 5 Soviet pilots without any losses. I also stated that Israel did war games against the US and downed as many as 220 F-18s but loss only 20 F-16s for an 11:1 kill ratio. Also to note Israel does bomb runs almost on a weekly basis, Israeli pilots are the most experience in the world. Name me another nation who has as much experience? It's almost a daily thing for Israel, it's their norm, they fly on bomb runs like having day to day breakfast.
      You might argue that Syria is defenseless, but it wasn't always the case, there are videos of Israeli jets destroying Russian air defenses attempting to fire at Israeli jets. Israel's widest point is 115 km in width. Israeli pilots are trained to defend against that lack of strategic depth. Not to forget Israel's dangerous long distance bombing of Iraqi nuclear reactor of about 1,000 km while navigating and avoiding surrounding enemy states. However the best feat of the Israeli air force is that of 1982, Israel downed 86 Syrian fighter jets in a dogfight and loss none of it's fighters, added to that 29 Russian air defense systems were destroyed in the process.

    The Virginia class subs are fine as that goes. Still, there needs to be a smaller, easily mass produced submarine optimized for antisubmarine warfare. There also needs to be a similar submarine optimized for ship killing. Ultimately the ability to mass produce ships in coastal shipyards needs to be quickly expanded. Especially in states outside of California. Keel laying to commissioning for aircraft carriers time needs to be cut by at least 50%. A redesigned version of the Zumwalt hull for larger and more capable ships is a must. All contracts being canceled and carefully rewritten to avoid past issues. Ship yards currently building Little Crappy Ships, should be repurposed for construction of the new frigate design instead. Ship yards capable of mass producing blue water hulls of up to 4000 tons. Should be built to mass produce corvettes and frigates. Both for convoy escort duty, and anti-saturation battle group duties. Should also be built as soon as possible. Given the nature of the threat posed by an aggressive Chinese government. Changes to US Industry and Naval policy are necessary. Unless you're willing to entertain the idea of defeat on the high seas, and the invasion of the Americas by China.

Going forward I would stress less budget eating missile magnet super carriers and more $ spend on destroyers and subs. Some of the savings could/should also be spent on life extension programs for the Ohio's and Seawolf classes. If the Zumwalt's do in fact work and work as well as I hope they do then reactivating the program might make sense. In the age of hypersonic anti-ship missiles this makes much more sense than more and more carriers. At least to me.

    Aircraft Carriers should, generally speaking, be named after Presidents (not all are) and Destroyers are often named after sailors or other military personnel, usually marines, who win high medals. USS Lyndon B. Johnson should be an Aircraft Carrier and USS Doris Miller, who won a Navy Cross for his heroic actions during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, should be named after a Destroyer.

      @@scottgalbraith7461 I am not sure if you are writing tongue in cheek are you are badly misinformed. The politicians (not scientists) selling the global warming hoax have not been honest with people. You do know that more ice is appearing in the Antarctic than is disappearing from the Arctic right? Also, you may want to consult with the Navy or the Canadians regarding the need for ice breakers. The current trend is the US is falling behind in the race by the Russians and Canadians in the search for oil and other resources in the Arctic. Further, if you read the US Naval Institute's Proceedings you would know that Ice Breakers are instrumental for our national security and maintaining the right of free passage through the northern pass in the Arctic. I suggest you diversify your sources of information and run away from anyone who uses the words "global warming", "climate change" and "new ice age". If all your news is from CNN you will only become more dumb.

We have misused fossil fuels as is to be expected and we are certainly wasteful but there is no replacing fossil fuels. The energy content per volume is too high, short of nuclear power, there is very little like it that is as safe and available.
