What a lot of fans forget is that Carr was held back a lot by Gene and Paul. Who knows how much longer Carr would've stayed in Kiss. He grew really frustrated before the cancer struck him. They basically told him what to play and he was get fed up.
I watch these vids and it just dawned on me... My God, Eric Carr really hit those damn drums! I love the original lineup, but IMO he was the best drummer that was in KISS. He had more chops than Peter, but he had Peter's animal/raw passion that was present on the Alive album. It's a shame he's not here... It's so sad...
Fantastic upload, the unmasked era had some of Paul's best songs. Great Eric Carr shots in this. Wow he was possibly Kiss's best drummer now that a little bit more time has passed.
I got to meet Eric Carr on the Asylum tour ,He was a great guy and a badass drummer .Definetly the best drummer Kiss ever had.I also got to meet Eric Singer at the Indy Convention,he signed autographs for most of the way to many people there. He had to stop when I got up to him so he signed all 3 items I had brought. He was flying out from the Indy airport in a couple hours so I wished him a safe flight and luck with the rehearsals and tour.Anyway he was a great guy ,I'd say he was one of the nicest down to earth famous rock musicians I've met...
asshole, Jym. Where is your videos at? Come on, show some videos of your doing a better job than Eric Carr. Come on, show us some video of your preforming in front of 10s or 1,000s of people. That is what I thought.
i'm a big fan of this grandiose drummer and i'm sorry for haven't meet this great man! Often i cry for his horrible and unjust death. This great man will be forever in my heart!
I envy you man. I am about to turn 40 and was living in Cuba until 2008 that I fled the country. I ve been a Kiss fan since age 13 and never thought I would see them live. My dream came true in the Sonic Boom tour and I met Paul Stanley at one of his painting expositions. Got that pic with him in a frame
I had a similar experience meeting VV in 1988 at a time when he should have been going out of his way to be kind to people since he was touring to support the 2nd Invasion album. It's not like he was a big established star.
they're a rock band, not girls in a beauty pageant.who cares what they look like! They rock harder and louder than almost everyone half their ages and actually write their own material. They don't need recordings or dancers or any crap like that to be the greatest show on earth.- they're KISS!
To clarify: The first bit of footage was shot on 5/5/90 at Coca-Cola Starplex Amphitheater in Dallas. The club footage is from Chuck Landis' Country Club in Reseda, California. A promotional show for Pirate FM and warmup for the tour. This footage (and around 6 more hours) was shot by Tommy Thayer for the aborted Exposed 2 video and all of the footage exists in collector's circles.
KISS most successful unmasked tour of the 80s, which happened in 1990. They decided to play mostly 'lost cities' across North America which was a good business plan. Doing the sheds and the smaller hockey arenas proved the band was returning to their Kisstoric fan-base. I saw this show in London, Ontario with Slaughter and Winger opening, then KISS played for 2-hours all for $22.50 CDN. Talk about your money's worth.

This looks like Lakewood Amphitheater, Atlanta, GA. If so, I was there front and center. Slaughter opened up for them. I was a senior at the University of Georgia. Got tickets that afternoon. They opened up some front row tickets after the stage was built. Awesome. Have the ticket stub framed with picks from Gene and Paul!!
Lastima que estos videos no tengan la resolucion de ahora en dia HD y todo eso por q seria una joyita muy buena conciertos nitidos con Eric Carr ya q son pocos los Oficiales como el Animalize algo increible!!!!
Gene's not wearing a wig in this video but he did at all of the shows on this tour. He has worn wigs or hair extensions on every tour since 84. Paul too since 88.
Benny Danielz so he didn't have the pleasure to see grunge music emerge and destroy the careers of many of KISS' s opening bands in this era, hell it also forced KISS to layoff Bruce Kulick and Carr's replacement Eric Singer, and return to the original line-up.
13:30 -- That's one o' them new technological, digitally-operated boom-mics, that moves into place automatically for the singer and then moves out of place when it senses he's finished his backing vocals.
SPAIN❤❤❤❤
I thought you were referring to the venue at the beginning of the venue. I see what you mean now. I think they did play some clubs on this tour if I'm not mistaken.

Hahaha, I really have to correct you on this. As a matter of fact, nothing goes without Paul's permission and I know this from someone who's being REALLY close to the band. Not Gene, not Doc, not Tommy for that matter, but Paul!! Gene is the most recognizable face of KISS, but Paul is the force. When Gene was doing Hollywood, Paul held it together. Gene has made a name of himself OUTSIDE of KISS which doesn't mean he is the main guy in KISS. If it wasn't for Paul, there wouldn't be any KISS left
Seems that they were playing in a club with table and chairs. Was this a gig that was part of the official HITS tour itinerary? Such a small club, I'm surprised to see this.
Yes, it looks a little goofy. No, it is not fake, that is his real hair. He only wore a wig during Animalize tour when he had short hair because of his acting that he was doing at that time.
Now, does that mean I like Tommy Thayer better than Ace? No, it means that to continue doing what they do, they had to have people they could rely on. It's a business. Even Gene and Paul arent really all that close anymore. Again, KISS is a business. To Ace's credit, he recently said he understands why they did what they did and has wished them luck. Peter is the one who is still somewhat bitter, but to be honest, Peter screwed himself over. I dont feel the least bit sorry for him.
I disagree. Stanley always takes the front of the band, Simmons just controls the business part. But the compositions and musical direction of the band is lead by Stanley.
I totally agree with Tommy and Eric joining the band, I'm not one of those fanboys that say modern Kiss is shit. But you have to also agree that both of them left because Gene made them do so. You can see it now, you can see it in the early days. And please, let's keep that discussion a constructive one, not a "you're a fucking idiot, you stupid fuck one." I love discussing Kiss. well its been 4 years since you posted this, hope youre still on here lol - I fell in love with KISS in 1977. I was 12 and a huge Elvis fan. After he died my mother and I went to a local store and I was gonna buy an Album, I went to the Elvis section and my mom suggest I get something besides ELvis - So i looked and saw this weird Album with these cartoon figures on it. I bought it, she looked at it and smiled. I took it home and its been love ever since. Now about the band... I dont agree that ace and peter left because of Gene - I believe Peter left because well, he is a brat. As a youngster I loved the drums on KISS and peter was my favorite member. After reading his book I lost a lot of if not all respect for him. Ace is an addict and I love Ace and I think he is the most talented member of all of them and I hate the last 2 kiss albums but love Ace's solo stuff, its the KISS I fell in love with way back in 77. Gene and Paul are musicians but also business men. In order to keep their banks accounts full AND those who work for them KISS must make money, Ace and especially Peter never really saw it that way. Ace does more so than Peter and as more the musician Ace wanted to do his solo stuff. He QUIT Kiss in 2000 and moved on. Its really that simple, plus I also think his addictions were caused by the stresses of those huge tours and pressures and he deep down knew it. Peter thought it was all about him, without Beth peter was nothing but a decent drummer who knew very little about that style of music while Ace understands it completely. As for Tommy and Eric - good for them! And its because of them that KISS has been able to go on and perform very well. Peter was slowing the band down and his playing was getting worse - he certainly could not hold up for a huge tour in 2017. Ace could, gene and Paul could -although I think Gene is slowing down and Pauls voice is going. I wish nothing but the best for all of them and it will be a sad sad day when they play Rock n roll all night for the last time - but time goes on and we will have the records and the memories..
Ok, no name calling (sorry about that, just kinda used to it from other people, so I jump the gun).....that being said, you still dont really know what the real deal is with this band. he was a fucking beast.
Fantastic upload, the unmasked era had some of Paul's best songs. Great Eric Carr shots in this. Wow he was possibly Kiss's best drummer now that a little bit more time has passed.
I think he was their best drummer. No disrespect to Eric Singer, who is also fantastic.
Great how Eric Carr just nails everything looking like he's eatin' a sandwich... God what an amazing fucking drummer
+PJ De Paepe He was too good to be wasted in this band.
HAHAH -he was quite happy to be in this band. Asshat.

i'm a big fan of this grandiose drummer and i'm sorry for haven't meet this great man! Often i cry for his horrible and unjust death. This great man will be forever in my heart!

For me the great eric carr is the best drummer of the world! yes, he never dies! i love him for his intelligence, gentelness and for his beauty too!!
Can you imagine if KISS did that tour dressed the way they are in the first part of this video.?
I envy you man. I am about to turn 40 and was living in Cuba until 2008 that I fled the country. I ve been a Kiss fan since age 13 and never thought I would see them live. I miss this KISS so much....
Eric carr.forever
A friend of mine met Eric Carr and Vinnie Vincent together and said Eric was a total humble gentleman. Vincent was a total pompous jerk.
Never liked Bonnie. The rest are cool
Shit...I meant Vinnie
I had a similar experience meeting VV in 1988 at a time when he should have been going out of his way to be kind to people since he was touring to support the 2nd Invasion album. It's not like he was a big established star.
Sounds about right.
Even wearing THE LEATHERS for soundcheck!

The first part is in Texas at the Dallas Starplex Amphitheater.
Monitor Feedback at 17:45 makes Paul lose his smile and gets him ANGRY!
ERIC CARR FOREVER!!!
yes.
You can finally see Paul's left ear in how he doesn't have one. Don't forget Paul was deaf in that ear and always hid it with his hair.
Yes, and you are one of the "everybody" I'm talking about ;)
I was unaware of that...
Gene wears his baseball cap the way old men wear baseball caps. LOL.
They opened the Tour here in Lubbock Texas
Acabo de escuchar una canción q sonaba no se dónde pero los 70
I saw this tour in Toronto, KISS opened for white snake and totally blew the poser away! Paul is the Real Deal!

Is Orris Henry in any of these clips?
Comcast Theater isn't in Springfield...it's in Hartford...
Gene's mic was on the whole time.
looks like first midwest bank ampitheatre to me
What was the setlist for this soundcheck??
how many different guitars had Paul played over the years

Oh :(
It's "I stole your love"
even with the tables and chairs in front of the stage...?
I disagree. Stanley always takes the front of the band, Simmons just controls the business part.
But the compositions and musical direction of the band is lead by Stanley.

They should have hung it up many years ago. Sorry. They always said this themselves, then they decided to stay at the party WAY too long.
No. Sonic Boom was composed ONLY by the four Kiss members.
