  • The Mobilvetta Design motorhome range is noted for somewhat outlandish style not usually seen in the automotove world. It was an Italian journalist who in 2005 described the Mobilvetta Design K Yacht as a machine out of this world. This trend continues 15 years later with highly unusual designs mixed with elegant furniture and usually white seats offering a striking colour combination of black and white.
    I live in a motorhome full time and travel around Europe in it. I spend most of my time in Poland, Germany and Italy. Vanlife is my life.
    In my RUclips channel, I present reviews of recreational vehicles. Here you will find campervans and motorhomes from the cheapest camper vans to the most expensive luxury liners, from various companies including Hobby, Hymer, Carthago, Westfalia, Wingamm, La Strada, Frankia, Wavecamper, Maurer, Clever Vans, Pössl, Bürstner, Niesmann Bischoff, Action Mobil, Reisemobil Manufaktur, Robeta, Trigano, Challenger, EuraMobil, Laika, Forster, Mobilvetta Design, Affinity, Globe Traveller, Benimar, Roller Team, Adria, Tourne, Megamobil, VW, Mercedes, CS, Renault, Ford, Fiat, Carado, Sunlight, Baileys, Chausson, Balcamp, Knaus, Weinsberg, Mitsubishi, Woelcke, Reisemobile Bürow and others.
    I do this by regularly attending trade events such as CMT Stuttgart, Abenteuer und Allrad, Caravan Salon Dusseldorf, Warsaw Caravan and Camping Show and sometimes others.
    I cover equipment, including 12v electrical equipment and talk a lot about lithium batteries.
    I also show some of the places I have visited in Europe in my own motorhome, as well as the places you can stay at! I try to give as much coverage as I can to official campsites and free places which I use for overnighting. Therefore you can find here the aire or stellplatz that you are possibly looking for.

    Nice too see another video of the "quick look" type of the entire range. This Mobilvetta design was nice and they weren't that expensive.

    These Euro campers just totally outclass the American campers in Style...Design...Functionality...the only question is durability! And performance...such as...4x4 capable, etc.! Is It Illegal For Alan to Show The Frig, A/C Unit...Possible Microwave??!! What's Up With That??!! Hey, Alan...you don't even have to say anything...just point the camera at them...Thanking You In Advance! By the way...maybe you might know if these Fantastic Campers can be shipped to the USA?

    • @charlevoix418
      @charlevoix418 5 лет назад +4

      I think all those designs would sell like hot cakes in North America, so far from the "Amish Quality" we are used to...

    • @VanlifewithAlan
      @VanlifewithAlan  5 лет назад +1

      Thanks for the comment Reginald. Fridges I sometimes show but not always, only UK vans have microwaves in them, A/C you need to install yourself - it is rarely included. As for shipping - you could do that but I don't know what the import costs would be. Shipping is around USD1,000 (very approximately) per unit.

      @@charlevoix418 People say that but if you look at the ones people have shipped over they sit on the used pages for a long time. All of the plastic would keep me out, the off gassing in time bothers my asthma. But I can see how the plastic would be easier to clean and be lighter. You can get the plastic style like this made to order in California do not remember the shop.

    • @badgerpa9

      You would need to do upgrades to it for the camper to meet USA/Canada highway safety regulations. Most vehicles shipped over need a number of things to make them safe for the highway but that depends on the vehicle. If no one else has shipped one over it is expensive to have the entire vehicle inspected and upgraded and design passed through Highway safety. Everything from lights to wiring has to meet spec, sometimes it can be simple lights and side impacts or the wiring could need to be increased in size to meet spec. Also all of the vehicles look low to the ground so the offroad capabilities would not be very high. To convert vehicles to 4 wheel drive is done all the time it would be costly if you did the first one and had to design it and then you raise the center of gravity and the vehicle would not ride comfortable anymore for you either.

    Such great designs and finishes: can't dream of a fraction of that in North America...

    I really liked the ones that had the bed that you could walk around the sides of. My biggest complaint about all of these is that I think the wheels are ugly that they have chosen to fit them with.

    • @helenholt1161

      Ice box is what we used to call them in the States too. Simple reason, you kept them cool with a block of ice. Ice trucks would drive around and you would wave down the driver to get ice when needed. Till the day she died my own grandmother called refrigerators ice boxes.

    All of that plastic must make it easier to clean and lighter too. Does it look and feel like plastic when you are in it? Just wondering if it has texture. Are the floor buckets weather protected or not really insulated? The plastic hanging doors remind me of a doctors office exam room. Nice styles to see all of the plastic used in many manufactures would keep me from living in one for long time, it bothers my asthma with the off gassing of the plastic over time. Thank you for the video.

Simple interior design but more on camper functionality. Thanks

      Thanks for asking John. I don't feel any pain although I was much more careful at Caravan Salon, than at previous events - also doing longer videos seems to help because the camera heated up more quickly and so I had to resort to the telephone as on this video. It is the carpal tunnel so I feel pain in the muscle. The problem is that I cannot exercise - not that I was doing much of it before the problem started!
