- La strada launched this futuristic motorhome, the Nova, at CMT 2020. Two layouts with a length of 646cm and 699cm are available. The Nova is made of a GRP monocoque cabin mounted on the Mercedes Benz Sprinter chassis with rear- or four-wheel-drive. The sophisticated construction of the extremely long lasting glass-fibre reinforced plastic monocoque cabin ensures good isolation, reliable leak tightness and an elegant design.
“Granted, the realization of the new Nova took longer than we wished it would. But now we are on the verge of accomplishing our new flagship. The new la strada Nova still follows the proven concept of the GRP monocoque cabin. Apart from that we have developed a completely new vehicle in which many suggestions from our customers and business partners have been incorporated,” says Marco Lange, Managing Director and owner of la strada Fahrzeugbau GmbH. “We are convinced that we will pursue the success of our top product range with the new Nova. The new Nova fulfils our highest requirements of quality, comfort and equipment of a compact motorhome.”
The superstructure of the Nova showcases a one cast cabin without locking ledges, handles or hinges on the exterior traps. The entrance door of the GRP build-up is significantly wider than before. The slightly darkened windows fit perfectly aligned within the appearance of the motorhome. A large rear window brings light and air in the interior and adhere seamlessly to the harmonious lines of the GRP monocoque cabin.
The Nova M features a floorplan with three sleeping places: a length side mounted tow-away bed above the seating group and a second single bed crosswise in the rear above the garage. With a wheelbase of 366cm the motorhome remains easy to manoeuvre. The Nova M has a gross vehicle weight of 4,100kg offering a payload of 920 kilograms. This also offers the possibility of putting the vehicle on a 3,500kg basis with a payload of 320 kilograms.
The Nova EB features joinablesingle beds in the rear and storage compartments above the seating group in the front. This 699cm long van is built on the 433cm wheelbase Mercedes Benz Sprinter. With a permissible total weight of 4,1t, 710 kg payload is possible.
Both Nova models feature four 3-point safety belt seatings as well as one Isofix fastening seating place with top tether for a child’s seat. Furthermore, the standard equipment includes SKA comfort seats with pneumatic lumbar support and heating system in the cabin as well as an incorporated awning on the left side above the entrance door. A stronger engine, four-wheel-drive, ten different paintings, ten wood colours, thirteen wooden decors for the trap doors, 115 different leather, leather/ fabric combinations and fabric varieties as well as an extensive option list are possible.
The starting price is around EUR100k.
I live in a motorhome full time and travel around Europe in it. I spend most of my time in Poland, Germany and Italy. Vanlife is my life.
In my RUclips channel, I present reviews of recreational vehicles. Here you will find campervans and motorhomes from the cheapest camper vans to the most expensive luxury liners, from various companies including Hobby, Hymer, Carthago, Westfalia, Wingamm, La Strada, Clever Vans, Pössl, Bürstner, Niesmann Bischoff, Action Mobil, Reisemobil Manufaktur, Robeta, Trigano, Challenger, EuraMobil, Laika, Forster, Mobilvetta Design, Affinity, Globe Traveller, Benimar, Roller Team, Adria, Tourne, Megamobil, VW, Mercedes, CS, Renault, Ford, Fiat, Carado, Sunlight, Baileys, Chausson, Balcamp, Knaus, Weinsberg and others.
I cover equipment, including 12v electrical equipment and talk a lot about lithium batteries.
I also show some of the places I have visited in Europe in my own motorhome, as well as the places you can stay at! I try to give as much coverage as I can to official campsites and free places which I use for overnighting. Therefore you can find here the aire or stellplatz that you are possibly looking for.

certainly impressive, the shape and width should make it economical and easy to maneuver, plenty storage space, floor storage of heavy items makes the vehicle more stable.
Enjoyed the film agree with mark. Is there Canadian delivery. Thanks for sharing.
I like your reviews. Straight forward, no music on background, no bs. Keep it up!
Thank you!
@@VanlifewithAlan Hugs from Brazil, Alan!
European designers of these vans know how to freaking use the space. I feel sad that American RVs are huge with most space wasted. Thank you for these videos. keep em coming
Europe knows how to make a fantastic camper van. That's a land yacht.
Man!!! I can't get enough of looking at this ...
I think it's pretty good that one. The floor in the garage isn't flat. It suggests they aren't using the Mercedes chassis that Hymer are using and if I had the money for a Merc I'd want that chassis I think. It is the first time I've seen a TV in a good location although I'd never watch TV in a motorhome myself. I'd rather watch stuff on my MacBook Pro. I love the window at the back behind the bed. Also good that they don't have storage units at the back so you don't bang your head on them when you wake up. I wish other manufacturers would put a window in that position. The interior is modern but a little bit sterile. It needs something added to it I think, but not much, just some warm highlights.
Очень понравился! Компоновка всего, очень комфортная, вот такую и хочется! Молодцы.
Loads of storage! Looks great.
One or two things that I would have liked to be different, the colour scheme for example but otherwise I liked the van a lot. In fact it is being put on the "If I win the lottery" list.
Great Video Review. I particularly like the Blue Leather Seats and the amount of storage that Is featured
Would love this in the states
Fantastic van just what the market needs. When my numbers come up will be part exchanging my Burstner travel van.
Show. Fantástica essa configuração.
It is a beautiful edition well modifications at the rear can make it more comfortable.
What a great van I wish we had simular type of products he in America.
I very much like the shower room, find it a bit tight at the front and the colour scheme isn’t for me. I’m also concerned with the typical big hob being at the front of the stove. The garage is big and really like it but it’s too expensive😰 Thanks Alan, great vid!
I love it
Only thing for me is all the power stuff in the garage as I am a mountain biker I have a lot of wet gear to try out in the garage & don't think it would do the electrics any good. But love the lay out & the storage is brilliant
Alan another great job! I'm a fan off German made motorhomes great for Form & function. where as UK made motorhomes, great for bling but little storage space for extended use.
Love the color of the interior, sorry you didnt, it seems like the best I’ve seen. You didn’t tell if the refrigerator is a compressor style, and hopefully it has a microwave and a 3000 watt inverter, but you didn’t say how big the lithium is plus the solar. Love it
Equipment like lithium and solar you put in yourself so that depends on how much you want. No microwave, there is an inverter, fridge compressor.
A 100L compressor fridge is an optional upgrade from the 81L absorber fridge as standard.
All the interior can be specified from a large selection of leather, leather & fabric and fabric choices. likewise all the wood veneers have a large choice, 2 choices of headliner colour.
Iirc the (optional) inverter is 1700W. No space for a micowave, it's quite a compact MH for a semi-integrated.
There is a choice of two sizes of gel leisure batteries & a choice of two sizes of lithium. Plus optional one or two solar panels & rooftop aircon. Gas or diesel heating choices. Lots of Mercedes options too, as Alan mentioned with the engine & media-nav system.
You can see all the choices using the configurator on the LaStrada website: www.lastrada-mobile.de/en/vehicles/nova/nova-eb
The Nova was my second choice MH to the bigger integrated 5.5t Frankia Platin I ended up buying (on the Mercedes 519 with dual rear wheels). That was some years, 45,000km and most of Europe ago! This 2020 upgrade continues LaStrada's excellence & when I come to maybe replace my Frankia I will probably downsize to a Nova (the cost with options is similar). Having said that I love the Platin, bigger but more space - there's always a compromise.
It was something new, similar to a modern family boat on the inside, possibly this is what comes from the design of the interior of future cars now. Very good garage, large bathroom, liked the color scheme, something new, built on Mercedes, quality, it seemed that the car was completed on all levels. But no Norwegians will book this, window in toilet room, we Norwegians do not like window in toilet room. The car on the outside is somewhat reminiscent of what they call "small motorhomes" in the United States. Good video
Bring this to the states
its nice but i would expect more on this price point ..its very narrow too they should make it i bit wider on the back..
The motor home prices and camper van prices can be amazingly competitive at the basic motor home end of the market.
+1. .. Herr Alan - .. Very nice photo shoot.
The bathroom is nice and compact. Two rings of burners are enough. Big garage. But the color of the seat a bit unmatched for me. ☺️
Great MTH Alan, thanks for your great work!
Excellent, van Sterile often means the designers have not forced on the buyer what the designers think you want. This design allows the owners to bring there style to the interior. For once the lounge looked expansive and who would of thought a TV could be placed where you can see it.
Good points about sterility and TV position.
never own nor operated a RV, but watched thousands of videos. I find European designs are more attractive and efficient in use of spaces.
In Europe we have a lot of smaller roads and many towns are tight for space. So motorhome designs are all in more compact dimensions than US RVs.
You can have a very big motorhome and some people enjoy imported American RVs but there will be many country roads where the greater width is problematic and campsites that they can't fit in (and they consume a lot more fuel).
I loved the layout of the bathroom & the colors makes it look stylish.
Great placement of the TV!
Love it 👍
Beautiful indeed, I like it.
I love it it’s my favorite
whew!i could just watch.'wish i could win a jockpot in the lottery to be able to buy one.
I love that, I know it's a tad expensive, but on the other hand, it doesn't look like a run of the mill motorhome, nor like a van conversion. There's certainly a bit more room to pass each other in the gangway and it doesn't look cluttered either. If someone would like to buy me one...
The van is cool.
I like it because it s a Mercedes Vehicule to start with.probably why the price is a little high...But i love the comfort and the many storage areas
Best use of space I have seen great looking van
Lovely
Love it but expensive Alan but give credit to build quality of German workmanship
Roll-tops tend to jam and get stuck with time. I’ve been into a couple of older La Stradas and the roll-tops were never smooth.
Really nice design and layout but little expensive
Czesc Alan, zgodzisz sie ze mna, ze tylka nie urywa. Chyba, ze mowimy o cenie 😦
Hi, which vans in your opinion available in Europe rivals this van ? Thank you for the reviews
There is nothing like this!
Fantastic Motorhome. Could you please send me the link where I can find out about bathroom sink . Roberto De Oliveira , Toronto, CAN. thank you.
I'm impressed with your phone's camera quality
So am I - but I paid over EUR1k for it!
I like 🤗
Oh my heart 💓
very nice. do you think it is good for fulltime ?
It would be great for full time!
What’s with the plug hole?
Perfeito !
the wardrobe on he back under the right bed is also reacheable lifting up the bottom part of the bed...
Designwise, isn't it similar to a Leisure Travel Van in some aspects?
I would like to know how much fresh water it keeps?
I think it is 150 litres off the top of my head.
Very similar to a Wingham!!
What's the internal standing height please Alan?
I think it is 192cm although I cannot remember exactly.
@@VanlifewithAlan Thank you Alan
I love la Strada van I wish they would build this body with a drop down front bed and a rear u lounges
is it rearwheel drive?
It can be either - or all four!
haha i'll love if you had a second channel for space ship reviews btw
I have a second channel on history if that is of any interest : ruclips.net/user/alanheath3
i didnt knew, ill check it out!
Well cold and sterile was mentioned, La Strada have a long way to go to catch up with another Mercedes Sprinter based option :
2020 Airstream Atlas ( Although it does cost more).
.......the table needs a hide-away or pull out design.....it’s a pain to have to heave it above each time .....also, would it be overdoing it to add a mini washer/dryer combo? I mean especially if it’s going to be home .....
How are you going to store the water for the washer and power the dryer? It is not realistic in a motorhome!
..... alas, I’m a woman ..... we only understand ease and comfort .....
Sorry Sammie! It is not realistic to have a washer because of the water storage and the dryer would not work because of the amount of electricity needed! The only solution would be to plumb and plug them in but in that case one no longer needs wheels!
@@VanlifewithAlan Well there are motorhomes offering that kind of comfort, but they are typicalle in the range of > 7,5t, 10mtr. Length, 2,5m wide und close to 4m high.
They bear names like Concorde, Morelo, Niesmann +Bischoff, Phoenix, and a couple more. Pricetag well above twice, most likely 3 times the price of this Maxi- Van.
Looks good from the outside. The pass through back storage is big. But the inside is a let down. I have seen less expensive units with similar and even better layouts. What were they thinking about when they picked the color for the front seats. Not impressed.
This might have been futuristic in the 80s,,
@Alan Heath. TV's ought to always be in a high, pull down from the ceiling and turn position, as keeping your chin up, as much as possible prevents double chin as an effortless exercise. As they say, "keep your chin up!" Same thing for laptops, for instance a raisable surface for a laptop to sit on is more ergonomic, and also allows you to see the screen without scrunching down, which is not good for circulation and prevents easily filling your lungs with oxygen, and usually causes super fatigue after a half hour, as well as harming posture. A popup section of table might handle that for laptops. The bathroom is big & nice, although I recently saw a similar van bathroom that had the clear, round, pull along a track, shower closure that is nicer to clean. Also, secure or stealth access to storage would be more of a plus if they didn't make it look so much like a motor home from the outside, and a sliding door entry to it could also make it a perfect place for a pet bed with the sliding door kept open most of the time. I believe an all white interior is much more luxurious than those scrappy colors. People can add colorful blankets, pillows & hand towels that look gorgeous against a white background. It would be great if they could use the quality, luxurious, much more excellent, condensed styling of luxury yachts, instead. Someone said this is more like boat design. Not really. That person needs to check some yacht interiors more regularly, as do van, caravan, camper, RV, motor home & tiny house designers, and motorhomes and tiny homes on wheels require a hand & motorized raising & lowering of the ceiling height for traveling, so people can stand up and change clothes & etc., in their upstairs bedrooms. Robert Deniro had/has a beautiful, huge motor home that has such a second floor, but it's all leather couches, and a huge screen TV at the end for watching movie screenings, etc. Which motorhome has the most yacht-like interior that you've seen so far?
It's sounds nice. Lots of ideas. But the price....
No oven or microwave?
No.
Can you get one without the garage to give more internal space.
No.
No worktop space in kitchen and where do you put pots to drain ?!
In the sink?
So you wash all the pots including plates, pans etc in soapy water then let water out to drain !? Lol 💕🦆. I’ve got enough space by sink for a draining board luckily
ALAN , ... I WISHED THEY HAD KEPT THE STORAGE AND FRIDGE OF THE LA Strata H PLUS .... IN THIS VAN WITH THE G BELOW ARAGE ... NOW T..HAT WOULD BE MASIVE CARGO ... FOR EVEN A COMPACR WASHER AND ADDED WATER STORAGE BELOW ... THAT WOULD BE WELL WORTH IT ... FOR TRUE COMFORT AND LONG TIME LIVING ..
Amazed there’s no grill or microwave. Maybe an option?
Microwave is almost never an option except with UK spec.
Yea it’s really cool although still don’t think it’s worth hundred grand plus , would rather buy ace of land and a cheaper Motor home . Thanks for the tour . I LOVED all the storage and garage for the bikes 😊
Outside looks different but inside pretty much the same as anything else on the market.
It’s quiet alway the same thing for 85 % campervans. They need some new brains. It’s a ridiculous situation.
👍👍👍
Part of being in a touring van is ability to view countryside. Not sure this does it
It has got windows. And a windscreen!
The little door to the garage would be good for a place to put a kennel for a pet. Colors are not bad. The sliding cabinets would bug me, but maybe I would get used to it. It is not all white plastic and looks good. The TV would be to small for my eyes. I saw a similar vehicle getting fuel recently but on the 4x4 frame. Thanks, stay safe.
The garage is hugh. Is it possible to turn it into an emergency sleeping space, like a basement of a house?
Very, very nice but very, very expensive. Afraid my lotto numbers did not come up last night so it will have to remain a fantasy.
The contemporary look certainly appeals to me and the price would not stop me buying one but although I self identify as a billionaire my bank fails to accept that.
No microwave?
No.
My issue with the newest generation campers is the overly focus on function against atmosphere as to the interior design. Almost spartan. Loads of money for undoubtedly a top notch vehicle but not getting the essence which is the home feel.
Not a patch on my Carthago
How much.
As is written in the description and as I say in the video, EUR150k.
Outside stunning ...inside is a bit murvi homemade looking not smooth like westfalia california PRICE !!!!
Mercedes' level of quality is visible. The exterior design is gorgeous, but the interior layout disappoints me or isn’t, in my style, mostly the back end.
Very Nice butToo expensive
😎👌🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🇧🇷
Looking good but nothing new☮️🗽
Feels like a hospital on wheels.
As in ambulance?
@@VanlifewithAlan No, the interior decor feels like a hospital
The interior looks like an ordinary prison cell here in the Netherlands.
I get the same feeling with the Grand California's interior.
It seems a lot of 💵💵💵💰💰💰 for very little??..150,000 Euro is a lot of gold for very little??..even though it appears to be quite well presented...it does give one the idea that they squashed a lit into a small space?..Perhaps if they utilised..& made the garage space part of the living space of the main van area..It wouldn't look like it was so squashed in..I do like this vehicle..but for 2 people like our selves which are both 6'-6"..in height..& we are both huge people?..I don't think we would be comfortable driving & living full time in a vehicle such as this..But I guess it would suit a lot of people..we are still considering a "C Class..& we're even looking at a Super C..as we live @ work on the road..we have a large - A Class at present..but that was a great review Alan.. We always look forward to your reviews.. 😎👍🙏🏋🎯
FLOPSandBART Building small means building accurately which takes longer than building on a large scale with high levels of accuracy tolerance. This is a disaster for the buyer as use of the van will aggravate those small gaps to the point of failure, but allows the manufacturers to cut down on workers skill levels and workers hours to complete build.
I like the van but Not the price!
Personal opinion!
Of course it is personal opinion. Where do I state that I took a large poll of people before making the video?
GREAT BATHROOM .... I ISH THEY WOULD PUT THE INTERIOR OF THE EXTENDED VAN DRAWS AND CABINETS IN THESE VERSION WITH AN OVER HEAD DROP DOWN BED THINK OF WHAT YOU COULD STORE ... BY THE WAY I HATE THAT SHARP BLUE ... NICE SOME PLACE ELSE .... AND THEY NEED A FULL THIN FRIDGE LOVE THAT EXTRA CLEAN SPACE AGE LOOK .....
Futuristic ?? You probably confused “impressive” with “futuristic”
Will it be in the US at dealership?
I doubt it.
Can be more better... Price to high comparatively
are they sold in USA
Just in Europe!
Nice van but i don't like the colors used.
get out already, you can see people are waiting... lol longest exit ever.
Compare this with the same price model Hymer duomobil and you see the Hymer has a lot more space and quality
Cooking ventilation, roof fans.for the money I,d want both. Storage excellent but left cold
I don’t agree with myself now. Three months ago I was in hospital writing rubbish , though I still hold with cooking ventilation that’s not just open the windows.
Needs four season capabilities (Why would anyone bother to make a motor home that isn't four seasons, homes are four seasons??!!) Needs 4x4! Needs overhead bunker! Great presentation Alan...
No oven, not even a microwave
Voor de rijke elite en niet voor de gewone man. Leuk om te zien, maar de meeste mensen hebben het geld niet om dit aan te schaffen.
