Matt, others may complain that maybe you don't do things exactly by the book, but I argue that you'll get a beginner making music faster than anyone on the internet. I don't have patience to teach, so I refer EVERY beginner to you. You've taught my wife and my brother in law. Thank you for the HUGE contribution that you make!! Merry Christmas brother!!
Alex, I have big fat fingers. Try using middle, ring, pinky. Try the barre A chord which mutes the high E. Try a D shape all on the 2nd fret. I mix n match depending on the chord before and after. Good luck!!
I heard that Travis tritt song at basic training almost 3 years ago, really liked it, but couldn’t look up the lyrics there (no tech) and completely forgot about it. Thanks man lol
It’s easier to change to C from G if you’re using your ring finger on the low E string 3rd fret and pinky on the high E string 3rd fret. Then just place your middle finger on the D 2nd fret and pointer on B 1st fret for the C. I’m a fan of the C9 now myself though!
Just getting started. Took a break from Travis Tritt. Just heard we lost Mr. Bill Whithers. Any tips you could give for Lean on Me would be greatly appreciated.
@@CountrySongTeacher I just subscribed. I've been playing guitar with our Praise Band for the last 6 months. I still feel like a beginner. This will help. Thanks again.
Hey Matt, what Guitar are you playing in this video, I just started following you and love the tips and tricks but we would love to know what you are picking!
Had you ever thought of just tunning your bottom two strings to the same note as when your always holding them down as in the Cad9, this way the only strings you have to mess with are the 6-5-4-3 strings since the bottom two will already be at the proper notes?
Little secret for y'all on that f chord, take your c add 9 shape and move your fingers down another step to the 3rd and 4th strings and play the middle strings sounds the exact same.
keep doing what your doing through Christ and God will bless. peace!
Again you’ve knocked it out of the park! Now I don’t have to skip over that dang F chord.

The first position F chord (the barre chord) always tripped me up. I think 🤔
Always instructive!
Can you do a video on the A chord? I struggle with that. Learned the first 4 chords from you and you’re the reason I play guitar

Hi, I would like to hear you do One Horse Town by Blackberry Smoke, great lessons, Thanks
Cool!
If I'm not mistaken, they play in open G tuning.
These tips are so helpful, Thanks brother!
great! glad I can help!
Should you be muting the bottom string if you aren’t going to hold it down?

Matt, are you fretting both E minor strings with just one finger?
yea!
@@CountrySongTeacher I'm gonna need a bigger finger LOL
You can make it even easier by playing an Fmaj7 which is 2-3-4 instead of 2-4-5 for a C major.
Awesome thanks!!

@@CountrySongTeacher yeah that's how I d my f now. 👍
I would suggest to practice the f chord properly but if u need to learn a song for something quick this seems sufficient
