But man, do I appreciate these videos! You guys are teaching the right way and no matter the talent level, encouraging guys and gals to reach their potential. Keep it up!

Folks forget Ron was the same man that helped develop Eric Chavez while he was at Oakland. Chavez always credited his Gold Glove wins to Ron's teaching as the in-field coach at Oakland.

The greatest compliment- in my opinion- an athlete can receive is that he’s extremely coachable. So dope to see one of baseballs stars doing these types of drills- the act of being coachable. Love it

All I can say is I've watched this video I can't even tell you how many times, for YEARS, I replay it over and over again. It's almost like a self encapsulated instruction video, because of how the line up is, vs crazy glove action going every direction except forward. It's a playbook for young players, and it will give you an edge as I've seen with many kids playing little league. Across the body lost control, feet continue to give balance. Ron is my favorite infield guy of all time.

Took the Rangers to back to back World Series as manager. Sadly they blew one and lost both.
Not sure how much stuff like this he could do if he was a manager again.
@@benriffle104 was one of the reasons he decided not to go back into managing since it kept him from being able to do what he enjoyed the most and that was teaching. Rangers have left an open invitation that if he ever decided to manage again he could take his spot back no questions asked after all that crap went down that forced him to resign.

Ron Washington learned from the best. Chico Fernandez was the best infield instructors. I worked 20 years in minor league baseball. Every spring training at Dodgertown (Vero Beach ,FL) I would watch and learn his infield drills. Tony Taylor was another great infield instructor with the Marlins. I hope braves really know how lucky they are with Ron Washington. The braves infielders will improve every year. It would awesome to see all four braves infielders win gold gloves.

As a Legion-ball coach, my biggest gripe is the lack of knowledge in baseball mechanics by the 15-16 year old kids coming in. This should be taught to 10 year old junior players

Ron Washington is an absolute genius! Everything is simple and is like building blocks. Just wish I could work a fungo the way he does.
My dad taught me a very similar drill that we used to do a lot since I played first. The muscle memory it develops is insane. It’s the best way to learn to pick low throws or read hops, imo. Definitely gonna implement some of these drills as well.
I could listen to Mr. Washington explain baseball all day everyday.

Great drills, especially for youth ball players who need to learn the basics at a young age. They'll never forge this is they learn the correct techniques at a young age.
Man I miss baseball I was a bad ass infielder. My favorite part of the video. “ if you boot it give it back to the pitcher and ask for another one”. I wanted every ball hit to me.
Now I’m a 33yr old that just enjoys golfing I sure hope my son falls in love with baseball the way I did.

My old man used to drive my brothers and i crazy with this stuff just doing drills like this over and over and over.
When i was out of high school and playing semi pro while also in the army, i had teammates tell me i had the softest glove theyve ever seen.
Take care of the little details and the big things take care of themselves. Experts tend to execute the basics flawlessly. Great little drill.

I absolutely love Ron Washington, he's is an excellent teacher and man. I wish the Rangers could have won one of those series when Mr. Washington was the skipper. I'm going to work this drill with my 11 year old as he is playing a lot of Shortstop these days.
