Finding Casey Anthony not guilty was, legally speaking, the first time I ever saw how, in a US courtroom, a lawyer was able to properly explain to the jury why a guilty verdict could not be found here nor would it be justifiable. It's not a question of Casey's guilt or not, it's that it couldn't be reconstructed what happened! In doubt for the freedom of the accused, that's what we Europeans know. And that's why I think Jose Baez is one of the best criminal lawyers in the world! How good and right it was when I heard, "Tonight when I come home and my daughter asks me what I did today, I can say that I saved a life!". Even if you Americans may yell, the verdict was right! Thank you Jose, I adore you!

@@74valeska I think Casey Anthony is a chronic liar who is extremely selfish, and I think she definitely was not ready to be a mom. However, I completely agree that Jose was a phenomenal lawyer. I thought it was absolutely genius for him to thoroughly clarify to the courtroom that a guilty verdict is "beyond reasonable doubt." Honestly, I think that was what won him the case.

WHAT THE HELL. i thought you couldn't even become a detective if you have even the slightest bit of a record. in fact they do a serious background check and find out things that were never even documented so how the HELL did SHE become one. i really wanted to become a detective but hearing abt the background check i was afraid i wouldn't pass because i got in online fights with random ppl over ethics, and they do a lie detector test on the spot with no notice, and idk i thought id slip up (they ask extremely hard questions like "would you kill someone if you had the chance and they killed your loved one" if you say yes you dont pass) but NOW seeing a full on cold blooded child killer, was able to get her licence, i think i might just follow my dreams. but all jokes aside, its horrible that a 2 year old will never get justice unless her mother admits the truth. also umm how did she spend 10 days in prison and no one bothered to beat the FK outta her? i mean everyone knows what happens to child r*pists but child KILLERS they usually get justice served to them fast asf.

@@Kalbert7161- I’m retired from the judiciary. I was disgusted with that verdict, the entire trial too. I did not agree how the judge ruled on many points. Casey was on trial, not George. The defense could attempt to create reasonable doubt, by stating there was no direct evidence Casey killed the child, deliberately or not. Bringing George into the mix was very wrong. If the State felt there was enough evidence to prosecute George, they should have, and then he would have his own trial. The fact the State never went after George is simply because there was no evidence he had any part in the child’s death.
The judge should never have allowed that admissible in court. It sent the jury on the wrong path. I never believed Casey deliberately murdered her baby. I do believe, based on her actions, she did harm the baby in an attempt to keep the baby sleeping while she partied. When the baby was found dead, she panicked and disposed of her. No one puts tape on a dead child to keep her quiet. I believed Dr. G’s assessment of the remains. Dragging George into the trial, the sexual abuse allegation, was solely to paint him in a bad light, and capable of murder. It was a travesty of justice. I was never a defense attorney, I was a prosecutor. It takes a special person to be able to give an accused murderer a good defense. Especially with so much pointing to guilt. Denial is a good word.......the problem is that the family has this very vain outlook and want to keep up appearances so they just have a history of denying everything.
Casey never graduated HS. She told her parents a lie that the school wasn't letting her walk for some ridiculous reason but she was totally graduating........they even threw her a graduation party. Also......Casey was about 6-8 months before that family finally came to the realization that Casey was pregnant......because she kept lying to them and saying that she just put on weight.
That's why Casey is so good at denial......she grew up around it.

Those behaviors could also be symptoms of a personality disorder, or could have some other explanation. While I do personally think that she definitely did it, and while I think the other evidence they found is pretty damning, it is largely circumstantial and so I don't know if it's enough to actually prove her guilt in court. I never thought there could ever be a bigger victim than the literal victim but holy shit, the grandfather…. The grandfather, his suicide attempt, to be thrown under the bus, and then accused of molesting your own child, I mean come tf on 🥺

right??? George probably suspected something already or in the back of his mind, he knew that woman killed his granddaughter but he still mentioned in his suicide note that she's innocent. my heart breaks for the family who did nothing but to turn a blind eye in the face of EVERYTHING.

@@renasuka I think that people more so have a disbelief about how a person could do that job. Yes, defending people is his job, but people (including myself at times) can't understand how a person could defend and get someone acquitted of their charges knowing full well that they are guilty and still be able to sleep at night. Defense lawyers are so important our criminal justice system and our system would not work without them, but it is a very controversial job

@@renasuka in my opinion he didn't even do his job; he created and twisted a narrative so fiercly with no evidence to back it up that the jury started doubting everything. a proper defense attorney would've used the actual evidence at hand to cast doubt

a lawyers job is to make sure their clients is being represented in the law fairly. they are defending their right rather than their actions. Thats how I think of it at least.

This case absolutely breaks my heart because if Caylee were alive today, we would be around the same age. Thinking about my own life and how much i’ve gotten to experience and grow through really puts into perspective how much Caylee was robbed of

i fully believes that if the police had gone to check out ray's report the first time, there would have been tons more evidence that would have nailed Casey to the ground. she's despicable and she has never shown an ounce of genuine sadness for the loss of her gorgeous baby. i just truly hope she faces some street justice one day

the way even her friend on the call said “if anything happens to caylee I’ll die” seems like even her friend was more worried abt caylee than what her own mother was, and then she claimed that her father sa her right after he literally tried to unalive himself cus he couldn’t live without his granddaughter is heartbreaking :(

Blaming the grandad was the most awful thing you could do. The grandparents clearly cared about that child so much.
