Super Mario Bros. 3 - World 7 Airship beaten w/ Hammer Suit

- Well, I kinda promised it, so here it is: the 7th Airship in Super Mario Bros. 3 conquered with the Hammer Suit. Unfortunately, the hammers don't seem to effect the Koopa Kids, so I had to pwn Ludwig von Koopa's ass with real skill.

Among the Koopalings, Ludwig's the most aggressive. Obviously because he's the last one & should be the hardest but he doesn't relent when compared to the others.
His: low jumps, earth shaking landing, constantly shooting his wand, & quick turnarounds when Mario (Luigi) jumps over him makes him easily the toughest Koopaling in this classic game.
I remember when I was a kid, being surprised by the fact that Bowser kidnapping Peach was supposed to be a plot twist. I just assumed he had her the whole time, until I read the instruction booklet sometime after getting this letter.

When you would die at the castle, the airship would move to a different part of the world.
The anchor prevents that from happening
WE NEED THE HAMMER SUIT TO RETURN
10 years later..nope, still no dice.
It did in Mario Odyssey
And yet we never saw it, or the Tanooki and Frog suits again, and after Super Mario World we never saw the Koopa Kids again.
That's right up there with letting the Metroid series lay stagnant when it comes to Nintendo's biggest fuck-ups..and at least Nintendo made up for that with Fusion and Prime.

If you beat it with a Tanooki suit, they say "Thank you, Racoon."
World 7's airship was by far my favorite level on SMB 3. This game remains my favorite of all time, outside of Atari's Missile Command, Space Invaders, Asteroids, Defender, Centipede, Berserk, and Yars' Revenge

Yeah yes indeed, this is definitely the hardest airship in the entire game ,i swear i feel my muscles everytime i have to step on those screws to move forward, even worse you only can atleast get a flower ,wich doesn’t help much either, and everytime ludwig koopa hits the ground,you can’t move forward,it was backthen and it still is anno 2020☹️😀
That airship wasn't really so hard. I beat it on the first try. Guess I just like pressing the jump button. Also Ludwig fights the same way as Roy with the constant stomping. But that does not make the boss hard. I beat it too on the first try

...but the Hammers have no effect on Ludwig. Wonder why?

Whenever you defeated a Koopaling at the end of each world with a different suit (hammer suit, bear suit, frog suit), there would be a different message...
Its Nintendo's way of TROLLING you. World 7 is a BIG TROLL level. The programmers are trolling you for beating it. They're saying "Your wasting your time on Pipe World, just blow the Whistle and Skip to World 8".

If you use an anchor before going after an airship, but fail to complete the airship in that life, it doesn't move the screen after you lose. It stays on the same spot.

Haha, the Hammer Suit is so broken. I killed Boom-Boom with one hammer. IMO the best power up in the game.

The most hardest most scarriest airship in the entire game, everytime i have to just over those screws to move forward while trying to keep up and stay in balance, i feel my nerves while fearing not to fall off,but good luck doing that and you can’t get even a feather on that airship either,thus making it more difficuilt to get trough ,phew,
And lastly, in the pal version of Mario 3 the bowser’s letter tune is a bit longer then in the ntsc version of mario 3,

Well, it was fast, but the SMB3 bosses don't put up much of a fight...

Yet the Zelda cartoon avoided that fate. Clips from the CD-i games get used instead.

The Hammer Suit needs a return in the New Super Mario Bros 2 wii or Super Mario Galaxy 3 (if thats possible)

It's semi random as a reward... very rare

It stops the ships from moving on the map....
the hammer and frog suits should have been in 3D Land
that would destroy the uniqueness of this particular classic and Nintendo still wants to milk money out of it

White Mushroom Houses in Worlds 2, 4 and 6 have them.

One method would be to get those little card game events where you can match up the cards. You can get a lot of items from them if you match them all.

... Nothing special. Been done. I thought you were going to kill him with JUST hammers but no... you just did an easy level with a hammer suit... and jumped on his head to defeat him... just... plain.
Because the Koooalings werent affected by the hammers..
