The Anchor is a special item in Super Mario Bros. 3 that is found in Desert Land, Giant Land, and Ice Land. As the airship typically moves to a random location if Mario and Luigi fail to conquer it on the first try, the Anchor will prevent this from happening, holding the Airship in place.

Been playing this game for over 30 years, and I never knew about the other white Mushroom houses beyond Worlds 1 & 2. Thanks for teaching something even this veteran player didn't know!
I knew about a fair number of them, not all of them, mind you. I choose to skip most of them. It's always been an effort/payoff thing. A P-wing is worth it, an anchor is not because it's honestly pretty pointless unless you skip levels with the cloud a lot (which I don't). You can usually tell a white mushroom house level by the sheer number of coins in difficult-to-reach places. That's how I found most of them.
I am in my thirties now. I've owned SMB3 for about 25 years. Occasionally, I still pop it in my old gray box or play some hack on one of my emulators. To this very day I've *NEVER EVER* seen an anchor in SMB3. I'm genuinely mind-blown right now and I'll try getting one and see what it does. And I think I've also never seen a white toad house as well, however I'm having some dejá-vù about it, I recall very vaguely that it appeared once only in all those years. And since I didn't know about the anchor, it most probably contained a P-wing. The coin ships appeared very rarely, but I've definitely seen it several times. I figured, they might appear by pure randomness.
As I recall, the anchor stops the airship from flying to another part of the map if you fail the level. The thing is, it only holds the airship where it is for that one time.
I learned some stuff from this video. There is a stage in level 8 that you can sink through quicksand(the stage with the sun) and skip most of the stage. This stage can be hard I strongly recommend it
In the airships of World 8, be careful if you use a P-wing, if you fly too high there's some object above the screen that will kill you instantly. The other trick, you can clud past worlds 8-1 and 8-2 and then right after there's a pipe. Go into it and come back out, basically you're in the same place. It's a pipe to nowhere. But then if you lose a life in the fortress, you go back to that pipe until you get a game over or you beat the fortress, you don't get kicked back before 8-1 and 8-2. 8-1 and 8-2 feel like work and not fun to me.
Awesome video! A few other things to note: - In end areas where there isn't enough room to run and hit the finish block for the star, you can simply just walk instead. As long as you hit the corner at a 45 degree (hit the bottom right corner) while running a P speed or walking, you'll get the star - There is also a way to guarantee 5up on the slots/ spades on the world map. If you hit the star when its about to leave the screen on the top and middle and hit the star somewhere around the middle on the bottom you can line up the star almost every time. Note this take alot of practice but you can come fairly close or nail it after you play with it a little while. - You can warp right to the end of the game by completing specific movements in 7-1. Really tough to pull off but can be done to beat the game faster. - You can also pull another way to get unlimited lives in 3-10. Move far enough in the level to grab a koopa shell and then move your way where there is a lower and upper level. Toss the shell between the bullet bills on the bottom while you stand on the top to gain multiple lives as the bullet bills will continuously shoot but be killed by the koopa shelled back and forth. Theres another way in 4-1 where at the end of the level theres 3 red big koopas where you can continuously jump on just like the castle fortress technique. Again, great job!
I'm about to find out if there's any secrets I didn't already know. I was obsessed with this game for years back when it first came out. In my mind it's still one of the most amazing game releases relative to its era. It's still a great game today.
Another secret some people don't know; SMB3 is actually meant to be a play, with all the characters being actors, and the worlds different acts. Hence the curtain that draws at the very beginning.
I've known all of these tips and tricks for a very, very long time (I got SMB3 the day it was released), and I've got to say.... It's nice to see them compiled in a video like this so that younger players can learn them!
@@BlueTelevisionGames If I'm being honest, there was one glitch where you went through the wall that I never knew about... but I had a subscription to Nintendo Power back in the late 80's, so I was somewhat ahead of the curve when it came to tips and tricks!
Volume 13 of Nintendo Power was the Super Mario Bros 3 strategy guide. It taught me most of those tricks and also how to beat tricky levels like the World 8 fortress. The trick to deflaming Bowser was featured on some NBC program back in the day. You actually don't need to go completely over the wall to trigger it; just go far enough so that you can see the other side. Also, you can trigger this effect by taken the lower (and more difficult) route through the castle. If you do this, you won't need to go through any walls.
"We'll be looking at well known secrets and some you may have never seen before" Me: Pfffft! I got this game when it came out. You can't surprise me. *proceeds to get schooled* Me: Well then... Hats off to you, Sir.
Haha sounds familiar. Since when has there been an anchor in SMB3? Never seen that in 20 years of playing the game, very cool to still be discovering new things
I thought the same Knew everything expect for the glitches and white mushroom houses. Always figures the coin ships were random. Shoulda put the sun in. Never tire of killing that sob!
Here are some more things you can try out. 1. Wearing multiple kuribo shoes. 2. Turning into a statue to crush other enemies, like thwomps. 3. Chain chomps break off their leash and run away if you keep them on screen for 200+ seconds. I forgot the exact number, but you basically give up a life in order to see it before time runs out. 4. Repeat the duck statue strat outside Bowser's room and you see about four configurations of his fight while scrolling the screen. Do it enough times and... 5. If you can cheat yourself 28 hammers and go to town on every boulder you can possibly break on each world map, you find new things. 6. Blow a whistle after completing most of World 8. 7. You can kill Boss Bass by shooting a fireball after he eats you and he is still above water. You still die from it. Might even work with the tail swipe, turning into a statue, or throwing a hammer. 8. Try the turtle shell kick strat from SMB1. 9. Abuse every spot where you can phase through walls by ducking into them. 10. Hammers kill a number of enemies who might be invincible to other attacks. Maybe the Tanuki suit statue shares the same behavior. 11. Fireballs work on Boom Boom, the Koopa kids, and Bowser. 12. The clouds with eyes look like Cherbils from Paper Mario. The enemy that farts on you. 13. During the Hammer Bros battles, you might get a power-up by hitting a block on the far right. I think you have to beat them and get the chest to spawn, to get the block to spawn a power-up. Don't break all the blocks.
Great memories playing as a young adult and a couple of years later with my kids. One of the best games ever,IMO. Found most of the stuff you showed. Thanks
One trick/glitch that I found out about and find cool to mess with is if you have a Tanooki suit (raccoon suit) on and go through a pipe with the right timing, press down and B to turn into a statue and you can see Mario or Luigi go down the pipe as a statue, but in human form looking at you the player like they always do. It's difficult to do but fun to play with. You can also slide in statue form too but it's not easy to do. Oh and by the way if you use a “P” wing on a level where you can get a raccoon suit in, and collect the suit, because the suit has a tail used to fly, the “P” wings power will be transfered from the leaf power up you started with to the Tanooki suit, and won't go away until either you get hit, clear the level, or run out of time, whichever comes first. Also turning into a statue doesn't deactivate the “P” wings power either. (Good thing to know if you want to beat Bowser with the Tanooki suit on). Just saying.
The Coin Ship... I've had that spawn before, accidentally, ages ago when I used to play Mario 3. Don't think I'd ever heard of a White Mushroom House though xD.
@@Moddballfromonline Not a glitch. It appears based on how many coins you got in a certain level. White Mushroom houses in even numbered worlds will give you the Anchor. Odd numbered worlds will give you a P wing.
Don't feel bad I'm about to be 41 😂 I have a 4 year old and I purposely got him into Mario and Sonic so I could relive my childhood. 🤷🏽♂️ we're both huge fans of BTG. My kid thinks Darby is cooler than I am. And he's probably not wrong. HAHA!
One thing I learned from a magazine when I was a kid it that the bottom right 3 cards in the N card game are always mushroom, flower, star (star being in the bottom right corner). There are a number of pre-set variations for the locations of the items, but the bottom right 3 are always the same in every configuration.
In the card matching game.. the bottom right 3 items are always the same, every single time...bottom right is always a star, to the left of that is a flower, and to the left again is a mushroom :)
To this day i still think that Super Mario Bros 3 is the greatest game ever invented just for the reason that it seems to have endless possibilities and many many rooms you might’ve never seen!
Honestly, I'm a bit surprised that they didn't change that, usually such things would be changed around. Not that I would want that and I like the info about it, thanks!
It actually symbolises the word 玉 sitting under a roof. 玉 means jewel, jade or gem. The roof radical above it symbolises the gems hidden under the earth, in a cave or maybe even in a box. So together it means treasure. Sorry I really like that stuff. You might wanna check out my Channel. I'm working as a German teacher in China. @@belartful
Thats WATER in world 8? I always thought it was lava T__T As a kid I was taught secrets by teenagers I knew. I think they also used Nintendo power.... and yet there’s still a whole bunch of secrets in this I never learned. First time I’ve seen a video with secrets I didn’t know about Mario 3.
What's interesting about the 'swimming under the boats' trick, is that in the Japanese version the corner block of the last ship is still there, meaning it's impossible to jump out of the water onto the ship and go down the pipe. This was obviously 'fixed' in later versions of the game.
I saw it in the instruction manual and never saw it till I bought this game atlas that showed how to get it. Seeing how it gets done it's not surprising how hard it is to acquire!
I now realize I had a hacked version of the game in which you can press the select button, on the item section, in order to go through EVERY SINGLE item of the game (including the anchor of course)! So for me I was a lot easy to finish the game 🤣 nevertheless I knew almost 80% of this tricks. Great video!
When I was a kid I prided myself on knowing "every secret" in this game, since I had read the strategy guide from cover to cover. I did not know about the 24 P-wing reward until this video. Amazing!
I didn't know about 90% of what you covered. I'm 43 so this was my era of gaming, as a kid.Awesome video and you have a new subscriber to your channel. Great work!
Thanks so much Timothy. When I made this video I tried to find some of the stuff people don't seem to mention as much hoping at least 1 new thing (to each viewer) would be in the video. Glad you enjoyed it.
The Hammer Bros suit also protects you from fireballs while crouching. So fire piranha plants, fire nippy plants and fire bros can’t hurt you with their flames.

Mario 3 was something else. So many secrets. I knew about the white toad house and coin ship, but never knew how they appeared. Probably not a secret, but you can kill ghosts (Boo) and twomp with the hammer suit. Probably the best defensive outfit on the game.
Alot of people ask what does the anchor do , the answer As the airship typically moves to a random location if Mario and Luigi fail to conquer it on the first try, the Anchor will prevent this from happening and secures the Airship in place.
You are awesome. I have played SMB3 since the 80s and never knew about the white mushroom houses. I also have probably seen every tips and secrets SMB3 video on youtube. Kudos to you for finding something I never knew about.
Great video bro!! I know I’m a couple years late LOL…. I remembered A LOT of these, but I did not know about the white mushroom house! Thought it was just a very random pop when I was a teenager playing this in late 80’s I think it was!
Some I knew, some I didn't. You covered quite a bit here and this is excellent. I've learned things I didn't already know. Good stuff! I knew about the three whistles, swimming under the ships, getting the star cards, the hammer suit in world 6, getting one-ups with the goombas in 1-2, the 1-up block in bowser's castle and the hit-box on bowser trick. The rest I was unaware of and admit I don't know what the anchors do... either I forgot or I've been under a rock...
Here's a secret you didn't mention. Using the whistle in Worlds 5 or 6 puts Mario on the middle path to select World: 5, 6, or 7. Since Worlds 5 & 6 were my favorites, I'd play the whistle at the end of World 6 & replay World 5. Then I can use a Hammer Suit with the Goomba Shoe.
Holy shit. 30 years later, it's the first time I hear about white mushrooms, coin ships and anchors. And I thought I knew all the secrets to my favorite game. Mind blown.
I am proud to say I knew about 80% of these tricks and discovered them on my own. I did get the airship coins and white toadstool by accident-never figured out how to get them. And also the N spade. I also loved the Kuribo’s shoe in world 5.
Liar. There is no way you found the whistles on your own or 80% as you claim. The only thing believable is that you found the coinship and white toad by accident otherwise why point out that you found those 2 by accident 🤔??? Therefore the other ones you had help with. You told on yourself
So _that's_ how you find coin ships! I've found them randomly a few times as a kid, but never understood the criteria to make them appear. Good to know!
5:41 The Coin Ship can also be Unlocked by Matching the Coins Number Did-get Like 55 or 99 or 11 or 22 or 33 or 44 or 77 or 66 and 88! Including the Timer to be on a odd number!
Two fun things, but sort of useless: Tanooki suit kills rotodiscs if they touch you in statue form. And in desert world, those chain chomper things will start turning rainbow colors and disconnect and come at you if you sit there long enough!
Thanks for the great vid. I played this game a lot a few years ago with my son when he was 8, just like I did when I was a boy. We both loved it, but thought we were doing really well if we got to the 4th level! I had no idea there was so much more
you can get a bunch of 1ups in 3-9 by doing something similar to what you did at 7:22, grab a turtle shell and go for that pipe going to the water, if you stand on that pipe, bombs will keep coming out and the shell will continually kill them.
There’s a secret pipe on World 8 Stage 1. You must use the P-Wings to fly over everything and you’ll see a pipe in the top. Land on it and go down and you’ll encounter a huge question block that gives you three 1 ups.
You don't need a P wing to reach it. Just build up enough speed with a raccoon suit at the beginning. You have enough flight time to reach the pipe if you do it right. You can make sure build up to P speed before exiting,(Run and jump then exit the pipe.) then fly over the majority of the remaining level.
This is a tiny "glitch" but I feel like I should point it out. When you are in a Toad house with a fire flower, then when you shoot the fireball, it is GREEN for some reason..
This video is a testament to how impressive this title was, especially for the year it came out. I have a ton of fond memories of being incredibly hyped for it to finally release, The Wizard did it's job as a glorified commercial, and when it arrived it lived up to all the expectations and then some.
when I was 7 years old, my dad went to Toys R Us and got the Super Mario Brothers 3 cheat book, there are so many more cheats in this game, what a true honor to visit this channel..God Bless man keep it up..Can get extra lives in world 3, koopa shell between the bullets, plus hammer brother suits can take out the boss and thumpers!!! I know all secrets. The Whistles make the game boring, FYI, don't use the whistles..!!!
These are all awesome secrets. I had the handbook so I knew about the whistles, but I didn't know lots of these. I also know I'm not the only one who wondered why they made raccoons to fly, lol.
I knew some of these but I still watch this video from time to time because its a good refresher, and you are just really fun to listen to. Keep it up!
Awesome video!! I've never successfully beaten this game and 30 years later am finally giving it another go. I especially like your tips on how to gather multiple lives early on!
It was interesting learning many things I never knew about Super Mario Brothers 3. In particular I never knew about the warp whistles (although just recently I suspected there were some due to a reference to them in a Dorkly video) and I never knew what made the coin ship appear (until now I assumed it happened at random). This video explained what makes it appear (and also why it appears so rarely). Nor did I know about the ways to get a lot of lives very quickly, or that there was a way to kill a burner. But I did know that running at top speed at the end of the level and jumping up to hit the bottom left corner of the box will get you a star every time. Another thing I discovered is that when flipping the cards over in an attempt to get matching cards there are only a few different arrangements of the cards (I think there were four different arrangements). So while playing I recorded the objects on the back of the cards for all possible arrangements. Then in future games after I flipped over a few cards by consulting my recordings I could quickly discover which arrangement was being used so I could easily match all the cards.
Thank you for this and your other videos. There is a series of mini-game levels where Mario and Luigi compete in 2-player games of SMB3. There is a trick/glitch for collecting blocks that appear as flames in the card location in the 12th mini-game level. These are referred to online as "flame cards" and collecting three yields many lives. This is a unique method of getting to maximum lives in SMB3 without playing any actual levels, scoring points, or collecting coins. It is also unique because it requires cooperation between Mario and Luigi in the only part of the game where they play simultaneously. This can only be done in original SMB3 for NES, not for later versions. Can you try this with the retro-free console or with Game genie?
As a kid I stumbled across a section of a stage that was the opening curtain, but was the clouds from the enemy that uses them to fly. Also at the very beginning of the game before you go into a level you can go up and left to use Luigi instead of Mario
Was sitting through this watching the usual glitches I've known for years until the bowser hit box. I never sat still enough to figure that one out. I would have mentioned the sinking sand in 8-2 as well as the racoon flying trick (3 one ups) for 8-1. If you hit running speed, tap jump and go through the pipe you can fly to the end.
I used to jump with the raccoon suit while having a star in 2-1 and after the star power runs out you can remain rolled up while jumping on enemies heads that’s a glitch you missed

A couple secrets I will share that are not mentioned in the video: with the P-Wing, you can fly UNDER World 1-2. Also with the P-Wing, you can fly over the brick wall in World 5 where you have to climb a tower with thwomps.
These are good tips and tricks. Another to be aware of is if you turn into the Tanooki Statue right before landing in a Kuribo's Shoes (Goomba's Shoe), you will get the best of both worlds.
@@BlueTelevisionGames It makes me feel kind of claustrophobic; there is something highly unintuitive about being right underneath a huge battleship and swimming in perilous waters like that. It's definitely a neat and interesting trick, but quite scary as well, haha.

Theres another way in 4-1 where at the end of the level theres 3 red big koopas where you can continuously jump on just like the castle fortress technique.
Again, great job!
Thanks for the info and thanks for watching! :)
That’s a cool fact for sure! :)
I did not know that
I've known all of these tips and tricks for a very, very long time (I got SMB3 the day it was released), and I've got to say.... It's nice to see them compiled in a video like this so that younger players can learn them!
That’s awesome. Impressed you knew all of them. Good work
@@BlueTelevisionGames If I'm being honest, there was one glitch where you went through the wall that I never knew about... but I had a subscription to Nintendo Power back in the late 80's, so I was somewhat ahead of the curve when it came to tips and tricks!
I Like your videos
Volume 13 of Nintendo Power was the Super Mario Bros 3 strategy guide. It taught me most of those tricks and also how to beat tricky levels like the World 8 fortress. The trick to deflaming Bowser was featured on some NBC program back in the day. You actually don't need to go completely over the wall to trigger it; just go far enough so that you can see the other side. Also, you can trigger this effect by taken the lower (and more difficult) route through the castle. If you do this, you won't need to go through any walls.
"We'll be looking at well known secrets and some you may have never seen before"
Me: Pfffft! I got this game when it came out. You can't surprise me.
*proceeds to get schooled*
Me: Well then... Hats off to you, Sir.
Haha! Thanks for watching :)
Haha sounds familiar. Since when has there been an anchor in SMB3? Never seen that in 20 years of playing the game, very cool to still be discovering new things
I thought the same
Knew everything expect for the glitches and white mushroom houses. Always figures the coin ships were random.
Shoulda put the sun in. Never tire of killing that sob!
3:56: fucking mindblown. Never even seen a video of that before.
he forgot the quicksand trap to skip level in world 8 level 2 of dark world
Here are some more things you can try out.
You can also Tanuki statue the disco balls in castles.
Great memories playing as a young adult and a couple of years later with my kids. One of the best games ever,IMO. Found most of the stuff you showed. Thanks
Good work! Thanks for watching :)
Awesome tips! Thanks Nix
The Coin Ship... I've had that spawn before, accidentally, ages ago when I used to play Mario 3. Don't think I'd ever heard of a White Mushroom House though xD.
Same or it might be a glitch
@@Moddballfromonline Not a glitch. It appears based on how many coins you got in a certain level. White Mushroom houses in even numbered worlds will give you the Anchor. Odd numbered worlds will give you a P wing.
I guess I never grew up. At 38 this is still important to me.
Don't feel bad I'm about to be 41 😂
I have a 4 year old and I purposely got him into Mario and Sonic so I could relive my childhood.

Good tip Steve! Thanks. :D
In the card matching game.. the bottom right 3 items are always the same, every single time...bottom right is always a star, to the left of that is a flower, and to the left again is a mushroom :)
Thanks Alan!
To this day i still think that Super Mario Bros 3 is the greatest game ever invented just for the reason that it seems to have endless possibilities and many many rooms you might’ve never seen!
The sign on the COIN SHIP is 宝, a Japanese (takara) or Chinese (bǎo) character and it stands for TREASURE.
That’s awesome
Honestly, I'm a bit surprised that they didn't change that, usually such things would be changed around.
Not that I would want that and I like the info about it, thanks!
funny thing about that symbol, it looks like a pole and crows nest found on ships x)
@@belartful
@@saarland2china that is the simplifed word, the traditional word is 寶
Anyway I think that makes sense, good information
Thats WATER in world 8? I always thought it was lava T__T
As a kid I was taught secrets by teenagers I knew. I think they also used Nintendo power.... and yet there’s still a whole bunch of secrets in this I never learned. First time I’ve seen a video with secrets I didn’t know about Mario 3.
Awesome Val, I hope you enjoyed it
Muddy water.
What's interesting about the 'swimming under the boats' trick, is that in the Japanese version the corner block of the last ship is still there, meaning it's impossible to jump out of the water onto the ship and go down the pipe.
This was obviously 'fixed' in later versions of the game.
Here's a tip: In world 5, always open the middle chests in toad houses, theres a chance you will always get a tannoki suit.
I've been playing this game since I was a kid and never seen an anchor item before. What's it do???
It stops airships from flying around the map
Whoa I'm also surprised I have never seen an anchor and I've played this game A LOT as a kid (japanese version).
Cristian Lescano wow interesting
When I was a kid I prided myself on knowing "every secret" in this game, since I had read the strategy guide from cover to cover.
I did not know about the 24 P-wing reward until this video. Amazing!
That’s so cool! I was hoping to have at least one new thing to share to everyone. :)
28 actually (4x7)
only works for USA version :( ( i use japan)
I didn't know about 90% of what you covered. I'm 43 so this was my era of gaming, as a kid.Awesome video and you have a new subscriber to your channel. Great work!
Thanks so much Timothy. When I made this video I tried to find some of the stuff people don't seem to mention as much hoping at least 1 new thing (to each viewer) would be in the video. Glad you enjoyed it.
The Hammer Bros suit also protects you from fireballs while crouching. So fire piranha plants, fire nippy plants and fire bros can’t hurt you with their flames.
10:19 Can be done without the frog suit but you have to be precise and in every move, I did it once by pure luck. Never again after that.
Seems impossible. Would love to see it done
4:59 there is one more statement that is "Hammer Brother!

Mario 3 was something else. So many secrets. I knew about the white toad house and coin ship, but never knew how they appeared.
Probably not a secret, but you can kill ghosts (Boo) and twomp with the hammer suit. Probably the best defensive outfit on the game.
Love the hammer suit
Alot of people ask what does the anchor do , the answer
As the airship typically moves to a random location if Mario and Luigi fail to conquer it on the first try, the Anchor will prevent this from happening and secures the Airship in place.
Yup
I NEVER KNEW ABOUT WHITE MUSHROOM HOUSES. Also what does the boat anchor do?? Never seen that before either.
Stops the airships from moving around
You are awesome. I have played SMB3 since the 80s and never knew about the white mushroom houses. I also have probably seen every tips and secrets SMB3 video on youtube. Kudos to you for finding something I never knew about.
i only ever got the p-wing houses. I had never seen an anchor before either, and i've been playing since this game was new too
I got mini nes this year september and i like smb3
Can I do this on the SNES version?
my favorite game of all time. I knew most of these but i still learned some new tricks!
Awesome! Glad you enjoyed the video. :)
Great video bro!! I know I’m a couple years late LOL…. I remembered A LOT of these, but I did not know about the white mushroom house! Thought it was just a very random pop when I was a teenager playing this in late 80’s I think it was!
4:05 You can drop the Statue over some Thwomps & Roto-Discs too.
Awesome! :)
Thanks for watching Andy
Wooooooow smart idea on the water ship level of Dark land! You are a 100% genius
Reminds me of "Son of a glitch" but with secrets. Will you make more episodes of this?
Maybe, let’s see how the video does.
Dude I grew up playing this it was my favorite game and there were still a few of those I didnt know, well done
So many memories.....
Oh cool
Knew about most of these from my childhood. Loved the video! Great job!
good work spartacus, and thank you
5:41 The Coin Ship can also be Unlocked by Matching the Coins Number Did-get Like 55 or 99 or 11 or 22 or 33 or 44 or 77 or 66 and 88! Including the Timer to be on a odd number!
What
Two fun things, but sort of useless: Tanooki suit kills rotodiscs if they touch you in statue form. And in desert world, those chain chomper things will start turning rainbow colors and disconnect and come at you if you sit there long enough!
*That's cool! I didn't know a bunch of those* ✅🤪
Awesome! :)
ya i didn't know any of them
Thanks for the great vid. I played this game a lot a few years ago with my son when he was 8, just like I did when I was a boy. We both loved it, but thought we were doing really well if we got to the 4th level! I had no idea there was so much more
Yah, this one is a classic. I still play it a lot now as an adult. Thanks for watching Luke!
you can get a bunch of 1ups in 3-9 by doing something similar to what you did at 7:22, grab a turtle shell and go for that pipe going to the water, if you stand on that pipe, bombs will keep coming out and the shell will continually kill them.
Good one Chadly!
Cool! I only knew of the warp whistles and swimming under the ships in World 8.
No such thing as a bad video from you! great video Darby!
Thanks so much!! :D
That's interesting. Thanks for sharing Giraffe
Dude i found the first warp whistle (The 1-3 one) by myself! I have no idea how i did it, but it was really cool!
Good job
This video is a testament to how impressive this title was, especially for the year it came out. I have a ton of fond memories of being incredibly hyped for it to finally release, The Wizard did it's job as a glorified commercial, and when it arrived it lived up to all the expectations and then some.
😱
I've played this game since it came out and I can't believe I never knew about the 4 rows of p wings! I haven't lived. Thanks man.
You are welcome! Thank you for watching. :)
I already knew the flute locations.
I never knew several of these, thanks Darby! At 4:17 That's a good enough reason for me XD
Hahaha! That works. Thanks for watching and and being part of BTG for so long.
when I was 7 years old, my dad went to Toys R Us and got the Super Mario Brothers 3 cheat book, there are so many more cheats in this game, what a true honor to visit this channel..God Bless man keep it up..Can get extra lives in world 3, koopa shell between the bullets, plus hammer brother suits can take out the boss and thumpers!!! I know all secrets. The Whistles make the game boring, FYI, don't use the whistles..!!!
Thanks for watching and sharing your story Mike :D
2:04 wow that's Amazing
These are all awesome secrets. I had the handbook so I knew about the whistles, but I didn't know lots of these. I also know I'm not the only one who wondered why they made raccoons to fly, lol.
Hahah
I knew some of these but I still watch this video from time to time because its a good refresher, and you are just really fun to listen to. Keep it up!

This video is awesome! I never knew about the 3rd whistle in world 2 or about the white mushroom houses.
Thanks Adam! Glad you learned some new stuff
Awesome video!! I've never successfully beaten this game and 30 years later am finally giving it another go. I especially like your tips on how to gather multiple lives early on!
3:56 So Bowser not only turned toads into Blocks, but also into munchers too.
It appears to be that way. XD
6:54 if you use this trick and use the tail at the same time as you get a one up it plays an unused extended one up sound 😉
Awesome
I did that too! I'm up to 8 different cards though..
I thought I knew everything about SMB3 but you just taught me something!
Awesome Raph
Also at the very beginning of the game before you go into a level you can go up and left to use Luigi instead of Mario
ok I'll admit, most of these I didn't know of, and they are all pretty neat. Nice video!

Glad you like it. Thanks for watching
Great tips. I use those when I play too 😁
I used to jump with the raccoon suit while having a star in 2-1 and after the star power runs out you can remain rolled up while jumping on enemies heads that’s a glitch you missed
