As part of my minimalist lifestyle, I occasionally need to re-check in with myself and remind myself to slow down. I always honour my simple lifestyle. Treasuring the experiences a slow living lifestyle brings. I keep my minimalist home calm & my lifestyle as stress free as possible. Remembering minimalism is also a mindset. However, sometimes I need to just STOP & breathe and allow myself more time for tasks to reduce pressure. Balancing productivity. I am slowly learning to balance my zest, passion and motivation. Whilst figuring out when to use more haste and less speed. Allowing myself to take breaks, knowing that breaks are necessary for improvement, without burn out. Sometimes the tortoise and not the hare, really does win the race. I'm mostly retired and boy has it ever been a change from the rush-about world I used to live. I still find myself thinking I 'should' be doing this or that and if I don't, then I'm not being productive enough. (Old voice of my strong work ethic Dad in the background still) I'm learning to see that it is ok to relax and slow down, while still having productive moments doing the things that need to be done. Very hard to get used to, but OH SO worth it!!
Exactly - my internal productivity voice is my grandma. She thought Monday to Saturday you should constantly be doing something and making yourself useful. I know it’s a generation thing. But even despite this she would say ‘Sunday, is the day of rest’. ‘You can do whatever you want this day’ which for her mainly would mean: church, baking and drinking tea after working 16 hour days and bringing up 4 children. She also was a very frugal lady. I think that’s where our whole family has learnt to loathe wastefulness and always have good manners. ‘Because they cost nothing’. 😊
Just a note that I found out after some research...natural flavors are not actually natural. There are so many tea choices without those additives so I thought I would mention it as I drink a lot of tea.
Do you know what they are? This was a one off buy anyway just to try them as I normally just have black tea, peppermint, vanilla & loose organic hibiscus 🌺.
@@SagelifeMinimalism it seems they can be a chemical base no different than an artificial sweetener...I am not sure why they are allowed to call it "natural" but I was mad when I heard this...originally from Bobbie Parrish of FlavCity on RUclips but I Googled it and confirmed these are not truly natural...maddening that we cannot trust labeling. One box of tea won't hurt you, but it is good to know for future purchases.

I missed if you mentioned it, but the kitchen shelf brackets that you painted white look lovely!

@@amywilliams1617 thank you ☺️
A very good read on additives in our food is Chris van Tulleken's "Ultra Processed People", it's fascinating but a bit scary...
They get away with it because it is very difficult to legally define 'natural'. Yea for Chris Van Tulliken! Brilliant watch!
