The horses breaking down in the cup were putting the entire sport at risk in Victoria. Victoria is a weird place, but that is the reality. There had to be a change. Maybe it is all just coincidence that there hasn't been any serious injuries since they brought the changes in, but it has completely taken the air out of the issue.
The protocols are a farce. Mission of Love pulled out of the Cup, but, yet can run 4 days later in the Queen Elizabeth Stahes. Don't forget that Gold Trip and Without a Fight were pulled from the Cup, the year prior to them winning the cup.
then you missed the point, these protocols are JUST for the Cup, the Cup is broadcast to a world wide audience, a Horse dying in front of the world "brings racing into disrepute" it has nothing really do with animal protections.....and it works, there were 7 horses killed in 7 years before the protocols were introduced, every year a horse was killed, right in front of a World Wide Audience!! Since the protocols were introduced there have been ZERO, ZILCH, ZIP, NONE killed, how do you argue with that? P.S. Without a Fight ran in Gold Trips Cup, he was not scratched, he ran 13th and he won the next year

I think you are a bit tough on Hinged, as you say she hasn't won for a long time but she has managed to win over $2mill and JMac doesn't ride her too often, he has ridden her 4 times, twice in Group Ones Where she sp'd a $t behind Dubai Honor who cleaned up every one in Australia........and twice in group 2's where she was beaten by horses with a pull in the weights, ( Hinged had to give 6kg's to Espiona and Pride Of Jenni) this time Hinged is the one with the Pull in the Weights Waller has multiple runners and I am sure JMac has his pick of them, she has drawn well, now she is $4 and that is with the JMac Tax applied, so she is really $6 (before tax)and if punters think like you do, she will get out a little more, she has finished in front of Fangirl multiple times(4 from 8 from memory) and could argue that she should have beaten her another couple, they have probably met a dozen times, there is rarely much between them, this is a set weights and penalties race conditions, she gets in without a penalty on the same weight as Benchmark horses, I think $4 is reasonable.....but I am holding out for better

Hi Wolfden Crew, We hope you get a BIG win Sat guys. all the best and thanks for a GREAT show. cheers. Stephen.
I think any jockey could of rode both Winx or black caviar. Those two jockeys were just soooo lucky to have been given the nod to ride.
Bloody hell Guy, need a winner or three.
Love Wolfden Love your show Good luck to All

Interesting having Via your best, and you then have no idea why the 3rd fav hasn’t been racing.
Sunshine in Paris will win over Bella then Via will win, easy JMAC double. You heard it here first 🎉
I love Paris but I don't think she'll win place maybe.
Saw that shirt 👔 at Oxford the other day
$49
What was the silly line Fizza said ?
He said "the Melbourne cup never fails to dissapoint"
No one cares Fizz. Move on mate. Don’t beat yourself up over it. No big deal. 👍🏼
