soo glad i seen this I took mine apart to clean it and for the life of me i couldnt remember how it all came apart it sat for a couple weeks all taken apart

I have a kitchen aid side by side. I replaced the 1/4" water line that now works perfectly and dispenses water. But now the water won't shut off, it keeps running. Does the microswitch now need replacing? Thanks, Mike

GSH25JSCBSS, I change it when the water filter light comes on.

I tried to pull that housing out and the plastic had gotten hot enough from the bulb that the two pieces glued each other together and I had to hack it out of there with a utility knife and screwdriver. 😠

Are you sure that you made sure that the water was turned back on after you completed your repair?

I never shut the water off. It’s still making ice. I’m baffled on this one.

What is the model number of your appliance? How often do you change out the water filter?

You are getting water to the ice maker, but not coming out of the dispenser? It could mean that you could have a faulty valve maybe.
