You don’t really need to get anything special. Amazon will work fine. Just make sure you’re not dragging it across sensitive areas (the whole face, but especially the eye area) without having some kind of moisturizer with it. It will pull the skin and can cause wrinkling
Though it is good for blood circulation,it cannot straight away change your facial features ......and if you notice some changes for a while let me tell you it's temporary
As a former medical massage therapist, wtf are you on about? Lymphatic drainage massage is mega effective, just takes some subtlety (which is why I never trained in the specialty, I'm a structural massage type of girl). @@LM-kd2zm I hope this analogy helps. I keep seeing people use the lifting-tongue trick when I see Luvly and other face yoga app commercials. My tongue already naturally rests at the roof of my mouth like that (was shocked when i found out thats not common) so that "trick" doesn't work for me.

Guys try yourself and see whether it is working or not...hardly you are going to spend 10 mins ...it may or may not chance the face structure but it will definitely increase the blood flow
True story: i did it for 2 weeks and i had co-workers asking how much weight I've lost.....
It does work but i don't think it's *that* drastic

@@123f89 it was real jade stone. Then i used oils in accordance with what my face/skin type needed...
I used it for 3 months and people kept asking me how much weight i had lost... i didn't change my exercise or diet routine. I quit for a while and it's right back to where i started.
Results don't happen in a week, but they do happen- so long as you do it correctly. Don't rush, keep everything slippery and clean. It's a great chance to meditate at this time too, if your time is short.

@@ochaxiao4138 each night since my mornings are short on time. I suspect the type of oil you use matters as well.

Gua sha is great! Cupping and gua sha is the best thing ever for my asthma and arthritis.
How do cupping and gua sha help you with asthma?
@@TammiCubilette My question, too. What's the medical rationale for that?
@@TammiCubilette Well, you see, there's this amazing reaction in the human body called the placebo effect. If you're dumb enough to believe asthma and arthritis can be in any way treated by giving your back giant hickeys and rubbing a pretty rock on your body, you'll trick your brain into believing that the symptoms of your condition are not as severe as they were before the hickey/rock treatment.
Have you tried bloodletting? Make sure you get all that bad blood out.
Tammi Cubilette Lymphedema, stagnant lymphatic fluid, is a cause of several health issues, including asthma and other respiratory illnesses.
Gua Sha is a full body treatment.
When done on the chest to open lymphatic channels respiratory diseases are reduced or eliminated.
Skeptics are uninformed.
It's basic medical knowledge.
Wow! Looks like works amazing. 😲
I massage my face with jade roller and my hands also using a face serum and the difference is incredible
Tiktok doctors are so aggravating although the girl results were very far fetched gua sha does reduce swelling and facial puffiness and it has a lot of benefits
I have been massaging my jawline and chin by my hands for two months and i can clearly see my double chin reducing day by day.
The tongue thing would be mewing. It helps oral posture and has studies that suggest it helping with the need for braces
Good camera angles & jutting the chin/neck forward!!
I've been using a Gua Sha most nights (also a jade roller) most nights for about 2 months. I use castor oil with it and my Marinette lines have almost disappeared! 😊
What is a good moisturizer to use with the Gus sha? I was thinking about purchasing it with an aloe Vera gel face moisturizer? Should that work? Any ideas? I'm black and I don't use many different kinds of moisturizer because some of them tend to dry my face out if the ingredients are harsh
Try baby oil ang massage your face.
i only use gua sha for lymphatic drainage around my face, neck, shoulders, upper chest area.thats where this thing works for me.
I had stage 4 nasopharyngeal cancer and the radiation gave me lymphedema in my face and painful nerve and tissue damage. Why have I never heard of this????
@@rachelharris725 Lymphatic drainage massage is totally underrated. It does take some subtlety and practice to do it very effectively, though. For your case I would strongly, strongly recommend you consult your oncologist first to confirm you don't have any contraindications for massage, and then see if they know any qualified lymphatic drainage massage therapists to refer you to. If you happen to be in Colorado I can definitely find you people trained in the modality, it's not one I studied myself but many people at my massage school did extra training in it. Best of luck and I'm glad you have a cool new modality to look into! I hope your recovery has gone well 💚
@@rachelharris725 maybe now u can give it a try (u hve to use something to work with the gua sha. me personaly i love oils), but first ofc ,u hve to consult to ur doctor frst to see if this practice is ok for ur condition to use ♥️God bless and i pray for all of us to heal from anything🙏♥️ *sometimes if im lazy to work with the gua sha,i can only use my knuckles for my neck/jaw area and my fingers with other bigger parts.
@@ItsAsparageese I've already been going to physical therapy for the lymphatic massage and I have a device at home that is like a suit and helmet that fills with air to squeeze those areas
..but it doesn't fit right and isn't as effective anymore. It was $7000 so cant just buy a new one. I do use a dry brush on my face and neck and that helps the most. Would definitely like to add this. Unfortunately I don't have much strength in my shoulders to hold my arms up. I'll have to probably get hubby to do it.
@@rachelharris725 I'm glad you've got so much great support and are taking so much initiative to take good care of yourself :) and yeah facial massage is always best when someone else does it anyway lol! I hope it helps you out! You may also be able to find a lymphatic drainage therapist who'd be willing to let you schedule a session with your hubby present and help teach him the basics, I know I did that for clients and their loved ones now and then. :)
First of all, I love your inspirational videos! They bring me so much joy. My second thing is, how much does a plastic surgeon make if you don’t mind me asking? And do some plastic surgeons make more than others?
Yes and google it
Thanks a lot doc! Few days ago i randomly wanna buy a guasha. I thought it can do a little facelift like some people said. Now i dont have to spend my money after knowing this 😂😂
It helps take away puffiness of the face. You get a more sculpted look. That's why ppl say it looks like a facelift. It doesn't last forever. Some ppl do it twice a day. Morning and night or just when they wake up. You can't forget to moisturize with a serum when using the tool. It's a consistent thing.
I don’t know if this works for aesthetic reasons or not but it has worked WONDERS for my TMJ issues.
I like this doctor so much 😁
I've had my gua sha sitting in the drawer for the past 2 years 😂 think i only used it once, but been doing regular face massage/lymphatic drainage lately following the moments channel, go check her out shes great! Anyway gua sha has made its way out from the drawer and getting closer to actually usong it now! Lol it does feel nice on the skin and a change from using hands all the time
Would you be able to use this while recovering from double jaw surgery?? I’m going into 2 months of my recovery and my cheeks are still swollen 🥴
Can anyone please tell me when is the right age to use gua sha..?????
gua sha may not get rid of double chins or help get a sharper jawline it DOES help remove the presence of wrinkles and smile lines
I do gua sha every day . Definitely works for me
Same here. 🙂
What brand do you use
Gua sha works! I forgot to use my decompression socks while on a long-haul flight from Shanghai to
LAX and my ankle got swollen. Started using YINA Gua Sha and it helped reduce the swelling immediately by running it through my legs
I do actually see benefits in how puffy my face looks but the biggest benefit for me will always be the incredible jaw pain relief I get from it. I didn't even realize how much tension I carry in my jaw and my neck, and well of course I like looking less puffy and I do see a difference, the pain relief will always be the star of the show for me.
I love that Doc did what she was doing with her head. Lol funny shit!
Doctor youn what to do to drain lymphatic system I have 5 swollen lymph nodes in my neck area
And what should I avoid consuming?
I'd go see a Dr to have that checked out.
This is one of my favourite songs and has been since I was 14 or 15 yro..
gua sha is a regular thing in my house lol
It actually works more if you use gua sha from buffalo horn,a lot better than jade and crystal gua sha. I can feel the difference,my skin smooth and I have minimal dark spot and acne,my pore minimize too. I don't know it's just me.
The chart is wrong your supposed to go down the neck not up neck. For lymphatic drainage it all goes toward the heart
Actually the left collar bone.
Where can we get a gua sha? At a local pharmacy or are there better suppliers?
I got my body Gua sha tools from Amazon. They have the facial ones too.
You don’t really need to get anything special. Amazon will work fine. Just make sure you’re not dragging it across sensitive areas (the whole face, but especially the eye area) without having some kind of moisturizer with it. It will pull the skin and can cause wrinkling
Dr Youn for pres for skin and health care XD. Can always rely on his facts and caps

Though it is good for blood circulation,it cannot straight away change your facial features ......and if you notice some changes for a while let me tell you it's temporary
XD As a massage therapist, that's so BS. LOL If I could do that for my clients, I'd be retired by now.
You must be untrained in lymphatic massage.
It's not taught as part of regular massage certification courses.
As a former medical massage therapist, wtf are you on about? Lymphatic drainage massage is mega effective, just takes some subtlety (which is why I never trained in the specialty, I'm a structural massage type of girl). I've had it done during a practice session for someone who did that program at my school after our basic cert. It's epic and very useful for far more than just aesthetic purposes.
@@LM-kd2zm the cristal juste helps mechanically. It is just a tool.
@@LM-kd2zm I hope this analogy helps. You're arguing against the necessity of a particular fancy dishcloth some people like to use, and we're pointing out that regardless of it not being dependent on the particular tool, washing dishes still results in clean dishes and it's not correct to characterize the process as categorically not working. The tool is independent of the method.
Let people use what harmless stuff works for them, there's no reason not to. Lymphatic drainage is a healthy harmless good thing, it deflates one's face a bit if done well but also has really cool applications in oncology massage and for people with heart and kidney diseases, among other issues. In the video he's saying it doesn't do ALL of what's shown, with regard to structural change, not that it does nothing.
@@ItsAsparageese Is there a tutorial on this?
It may not change facial structure, but relieves tension a lot so I'm okay with that lol

Does anyone know what oils/serums to apply before using the gua sha?
Castor oil
What does it do, just move fluid around so your bone structure shows more? I’m going to try it!!
Its not cap ive used it myself and ive seen a huge transformation within days.
Hey doctor please make 🙏video on jade roller. We are very curious to know that why are they so expensive? because everybody cannot afford it and does it really work? Здравствуйте, я думаю, что у массажёра Гуаша и роллера один и тот же принцип действия -- осуществление давления на ткани лица для лимфооттока. Лично мне не понравился роллер, слишком мягкое воздействие. Гуаша намного лучше 🥰
@@mahevishpathan2047 the actual jade ones are expensive but there are like cheaper ones on shien pretty sure they are plastic but hey what works works lol. Both gua sha and jade only depuff your face temporarily most people do it in the morning because thats where fluids and stuff accumulate oj your face you dont need fancy tools to do the job apparently you can do the same massage with hands but its just more convenient with gua sha
Buy a plastic or metal one. The ones made with actual jade crystal are porous and cannot be properly cleaned. They all work the exact same way, and you can get the same result just using your hands.

REMEMBER IF YOU HAVE ACNE DONT USE GUA SHA🥲

I think if she did notice a difference in that chin, was more due to the fact that she had helped decrease the swelling in her cheeks and sinus area and was probably putting her tongue in a better position and doing less mouth breathing because it finally was comfortable enough to do, even if minimal and barely noticeable. I dunno, I think that should be a double study and why it is that people put their tongue to its proper place more while having Gua Sha in the routine and some imaging to look at the sinus area.
I keep seeing people use the lifting-tongue trick when I see Luvly and other face yoga app commercials. My tongue already naturally rests at the roof of my mouth like that (was shocked when i found out thats not common) so that "trick" doesn't work for me.
Do you recommend this also if skin purging from retinol?

You need to glide , not tug. Use it with moisturizer or a facial oil
Which is the best to use gua sha&jade roll or anti-wrikle led device
Before and after pictures are a scam. In the before pictures observe that her neck is straight whereas in the after pictures her neck is stretched forward which makes it look like her double chin is gone. This is a popular trick in photography to make you look like you have no double chin
So ur telling me I'm basically stuck with my big cheeks? 😥

Same problem here haha & based on my parent’s cheeks now in their 50’s, I’m going to have these chubby cheeks forever 😅 At least we’ll look younger! But I also don’t like looking like a teenager in my mid 20s.
chubby cheeks ganggg!
No, just use this thing with a moisturizer. It’s not gonna be a immediate fix, nothing will, but it can help with temporarily removing inflammation and help with circulation. The only way you will be able to totally get rid of big cheeks is too either loose weight or get a face lift. I recommend neither, because I don’t know you and I’m not you or your doctor. You do what makes YOU happy and confident. I promise that you’re stunning with or without big cheeks.
It will reduce inflation and water retention, but not chance your facials structure 💕 use moderately
