Lighthouse Lamp from Natural Stone

- In this video i build a model lighthouse lamp. Natural stone is a free, often neglected, but visually pleasing material. It cuts fairly easily using an angle grinder and diamond abrasive discs.
This lighthouse is entirely fictitious, not based on any real construction.
YES, it is heavy for a lamp! About 20 kg (44 lbs).
Wood, metal, glass, masonry, electrical, painting...amazing!!!
Thank you. I really tried to cover it all with this video.
Love all the detail you put into this!
Thanks John, appreciate the comment!
Such a great work mate. This must be the best lighthouse ever built.
Thanks mate!
I don't know how anyone could dislike this. This is simply brilliant, and it was fun watching how this was put together.
Even if you are using only material from scrap, you never will be able to sell this for its real price... I don't know how many hours it took you to build this master piece. Great respect and greetings from France Laurent
Thanks. Yes i know, the main idea was just to experiment and show new ways to use natural materials.
That is absolutely stunning, i'm in awe, your ideas and projects are so well thought out and I would pay good money for something as amazing and unique as this...
this has got to be one of the best DIY projects ever !!!
Это же сколько надо иметь терпения?... Превосходно!
I'm very impressed! I'd only add that maybe a light in the lower end for the small widows would have been a nice effect.
It is extremely rare to see this much ingenuity and skill (and overall craftsmanship) go into one stunning piece of decor, This is truly an incredible build with so much attention to detail. Great work, Keep up the amazing projects.
I thank you for watching and for the kind words.
Fantastic... almost impossible to stop watching. Great project.
This was amazing, from start to finish. A lot of care was put into this project. Nice!
Beautiful Lighthouse! Looks like it was a project of love of lighthouses. Excellent project, I love the results.
Brilliant .. and nice trick with the weld rod center as rivet shaft
Thank you! I couldn't find a suitable nail so welding rod was the next best thing.
That is an incredible work of art. That had to be quite labor intensive. Definitely a masterpiece that will last for a long time.
Eso es no tener madre, eres un máster amigo!!!! Saludos desde Zapopan JAL México!!!!

You've made me wait a long time for the video, but it was well worth it. Awesome build!
At around half way through I cought myself watching this for the pure joy of watching it. I forgot it was supposed to be finished with natural stone. Didn't care. It was a pleasure watching you make this.
That is pretty much the same feeling i too have felt when watching other makers. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the video!
wow, excellent , please, more of this
Thanks. I have to admit making miniatures is quite fun so maybe i will make something similar at some point.
Fantastic. Well Done

You are literally amazing!
awesome!! huge amount of work :)
Thanks! Yes, let's just say i am happy this project is over :)
FinnCrafted if you could, would you be able to let me know the tools you used for this project? I’m trying to get into woodworking projects, and I was curious the drill and attachment you were using to create the holes in the drill. Also, the hand tools you used to sort of skim down the pieces of wood that were the walls of the lighthouse? You did it around a minute into the video? If you could get back to me I really would appreciate it and it would help a lot
I want to build a lighthouse to sit over the top of my well and replace a lamp post that sits near it. This is about the closest thing I've found to what I want. The only difference is that it will need to be about 6 feet at least. I will not be covering it with rocks the way you did. That would just take forever. I'll probably use cedar siding or something like that. But I did like the way you built the top. Thank you showing that. I'm sure I'll have to do something custom like that. That and some of the other things you did such as cutting rocks, quick set up for using a circular saw on longer cuts.... are al things that I can use in other projects.
Now off to figure out how big I really need to make it and al the angles to make it stand up straight and survive wind and snow.
what a fantastic lighthouse, but boy have you worked hard on it, you are very talented :)
Thank you!
Отлично получилось , вы молодец .

WoW Very Pretty!!! your very talented!!!! Lot's of detail...
Awesome ideas and imagination.
Very beautiful, 9.5/10! Only thing that could improve it is if you added a little motor to slowly spin a mirror around the light bulb for a bit more realism!
That is so cute! You did a awesome job.
Beautiful work!

very nice like all the different parts a little sticky on the melamine shelving, i did one sculpted from high temp clay glazed and fired i make the clay look like stones with a roof also i try to make mine look old little bent next time use chisel and bury saw cut like the way you did base if you want not to be critical like old school still very nice how many have you made i would say a fair number and why not others can have, you can seal with penetrating sealer in case a dog comes by lifts leg cheers
Très beau projet. Merci de partager
This is all just so incredible. From your metal work to this kind of thing, where did you even learn to do all this? Absolutely amazing!
I have been around tools since a child, but started building stuff and actively learning techniques about 7 years ago. I feel it is a common misconception that one would have to know loads of stuff in order to make something. We also learn by creating things.
realy fantastic
A-MAZING!!
Excellent stuff, plenty of tips & nicely made clip. I'm glad you resisted the temptation to add some awful music!
great video, Must of taken a long time to do but well worth it I must say. Great job.
