Lighthouse Lamp from Natural Stone

  • In this video i build a model lighthouse lamp. Natural stone is a free, often neglected, but visually pleasing material. It cuts fairly easily using an angle grinder and diamond abrasive discs.
This lighthouse is entirely fictitious, not based on any real construction.
YES, it is heavy for a lamp! About 20 kg (44 lbs).

Even if you are using only material from scrap, you never will be able to sell this for its real price... I don't know how many hours it took you to build this master piece. Great respect and greetings from France Laurent

FinnCrafted if you could, would you be able to let me know the tools you used for this project? I’m trying to get into woodworking projects, and I was curious the drill and attachment you were using to create the holes in the drill. Also, the hand tools you used to sort of skim down the pieces of wood that were the walls of the lighthouse? You did it around a minute into the video? If you could get back to me I really would appreciate it and it would help a lot

I want to build a lighthouse to sit over the top of my well and replace a lamp post that sits near it. This is about the closest thing I've found to what I want. The only difference is that it will need to be about 6 feet at least. I will not be covering it with rocks the way you did. That would just take forever. I'll probably use cedar siding or something like that. But I did like the way you built the top. Thank you showing that. I'm sure I'll have to do something custom like that. That and some of the other things you did such as cutting rocks, quick set up for using a circular saw on longer cuts.... are al things that I can use in other projects.
Now off to figure out how big I really need to make it and al the angles to make it stand up straight and survive wind and snow.

very nice like all the different parts a little sticky on the melamine shelving, i did one sculpted from high temp clay glazed and fired i make the clay look like stones with a roof also i try to make mine look old little bent next time use chisel and bury saw cut like the way you did base if you want not to be critical like old school still very nice how many have you made i would say a fair number and why not others can have, you can seal with penetrating sealer in case a dog comes by lifts leg cheers
