    At the 26:00 that is a center pivot draw bridge. the center span twist to open the river channel. And whether or not you get weight repeatedly is luck of the draw. Most States If it's open you weight. Unless your Company uses a service called PrePass, then you usually only need to weight once.

    That Bay is the Puget Sound. From Wiki: In 1792 George Vancouver gave the name "Puget's Sound" to the waters south of the Tacoma Narrows, in honor of Peter Puget, a Huguenot lieutenant accompanying him on the Vancouver Expedition. This name later came to be used for the waters north of Tacoma Narrows as well.

    Squirrel, part of the reason why so many gas stations are unusable in game is that in the US most stations do NOT have diesel. So, its actually realistic to have a lot of stations that are inaccessible for trucks, since they wouldn't be able to fill up anyways ;) Oh, and the side by side quad you saw is actually an off road toy/utility vehicle. Looks like that particular AI driver uses theirs as a dirt/sand/mud toy as opposed to a hunting vehicle or yard work hauler. My sister in law has one of them...they're fun little beasts.

    As a Bellinghamster (yes, that's what we're called), I'm actually quite impressed with the way the game depicts my hometown. It's a condensed version, of course, but fairly true to life, and the attention to detail is commendable. I recognized the turn-off onto Iowa St. from I-5; in real life, Iowa St. is where all of the town's car dealerships are, and if you'd taken a right turn there instead of a left, you might have seen them. I saw the Bellingham Herald building, with its easily recognizable sign. As others have said already, the mural and rocket were real, and were part of a pastry shop called Rocket Donuts, which used to be a very recognizable business here; sadly, Rocket Donuts closed down a few years ago, shortly before the pandemic, but the rocket is still there, with a different mural replacing the old one. Maritime Heritage Park is real, too; the area to the left that you were wondering about is the bayfront, on Bellingham Bay. The church is St. Paul's Episcopal, and it's real as well. And then it looks like the route took you up Eldridge Ave. (there's a lot of unique homes out there) and over near the airport on Bakerview. In real life, the drop-off spot is a Fred Meyer, and the large building next door is a La Quinta Inn & Suites.
    The drive from Seattle to Bellingham is relatively accurate as well-- it's a route I know very well. There were a _few_ notable things missing along the way, like the Alderwood Mall in Lynnwood, Tulalip Resort north of Marysville, and the mountain passes between here and Burlington (seriously, I've been on that section of I-5 countless times, and it is _still_ one of the most breathtakingly beautiful scenic routes I've ever taken). But I was surprised they captured the feel of the Skagit Valley area so accurately. Also, to put things into perspective, the real drive from Seattle to Bellingham is roughly 90 miles, and usually takes me about 1 1/2 to 2 hours, depending on congestion. I think the _least_ accurate thing here is that the traffic on I-5 around Seattle wasn't nearly as horrendous as it is in real life!

Your assuming all DLCs will cost the same which they won't towards East coast they'll be priced accordingly and maybe bundle together. You aren't paying all this in one go, it's spread out throughout years. So 12 isn't too much at all consider other simulators with games and DLCs cost double the price and AAA franchises games and DLCs costing triple that 12 a year maybe more or less isn't expensive at all.

    Weight stations in the states are as follow...
    If Open and no A.V.I. transponder, you enter.
    If equip with A.V.I. and green light, you bypass.
    If Red you enter.
    The DOT agent has the choice to change the transponder on any one or all trucks to bypass or enter for inspection.
    Most of the time they will do a inspection if they visually see a issue, if there system detects a issue (some have thermal cameras to see overheated tires and such)
    Every weight station is different. Some outdated equipment and some with full truck scan systems that can even xray the trailer.

    Getting a green light at a weigh station is all a function of the trucking companies safety score with the federal government. Unsafe companies get inspected more often, but getting pulled into the weigh station is a random chance most of the time. Some days I pass every weigh station I come to, and some days I get pulled into several.

  • @wdbames
    @wdbames 5 лет назад

    You're right about needing the possibility of failing the weigh station. We don't want something random, though. SCS needs to implement adjustable hitch position
    on the trucks, like now exists on the trailers, and detailed weigh-in. Then, if You have not set up Your rig correctly, You would expect to fail the weigh-in.
    We already have scales at some of the truck stops, which seem to have no purpose, so maybe SCS already has all of this in the pipeline.
    FYI, You should NOT be weighed multiple times in the same state. That's a Glitch!
    Great preview of the Seattle area of Washington DLC, Thanks!

    Just getting out of the main city center in Shitattle is the same as any major city in the US, gigantic transition from a very "verticalized" center (many times mostly modernized) to a sudden "inner city" old center vibe (old buildings, mostly run down hoods, but gentrification is a thing just like in Seattle) with some homes, semi-detached or not town building homes, small buildings, shops either opened or closed in run down areas. Then there're the old blue collar suburbs, that aren't that far, sometimes, maybe closer to an old factory and such.

    Hi FYI. the yellow bumps/dots are marked like that in real life. it's like having a island there for separation. but without hassle of maintaining the island.

    It's rains so much in Washington that we use these bump things for the lane markers so we can feel them in low vis conditions

    Actually to the west of Seattle is Puget sound. And to the east is lake Washington. I-90 is famous there because it’s a floating bridge

    • @keisisqrl
      @keisisqrl 5 лет назад

      I-90 used to be the world’s longest floating bridge iirc, then Washington built a longer one. Now I-90 has the world’s only light rail floating bridge in the middle.

      @@keisisqrl I 90 is also the longest interstate in the country at over 3000 miles stretching from Seattle to Boston. My dad drove my car back from Seattle and it took him 3 days of non stop driving to get it back to Albany.

    Wow, wow, wow, awesome video 👍, you were in my home town, Bellingham. Oh and the fireworks you delivered to Walbert, In real life it is a Fred Meyer, and across the street is a Costco. So you delivered fireworks to Fred Meyer. Also the tall building next to your delivery destination was a hotel!! Oh and the Easter egg in Bellingham, that was a donut shop, it there in real life, it's called "Rocket Doughnuts" you can see it on Google maps, and that is why there was a rocket sculpture, and it's there in real life. Very very neat video, fairly realistic, although in real life a drive from Seattle to Bellingham takes about 2 hrs with traffic. But still, please do more videos in Bellingham.!!!!!;;

    Looks really nice on a good hardware. If I ever get a new pc it will be like suddenly having ats and ets2 sequels.

      @A real bisexual petrol-head I play on almost minimal to get good stable framerate. It will still be the same games, but on new hardware with full settings if it will look and run like that, it will be like sequels compared to what I have now.

    Since the land is 1/20th the size of real life, getting out and doing all the rest of it takes effectively 20x longer than it should: you can travel 20x more miles in the time you do some pissing about than you would if it were full scale and real life sized. Also the failure would have to be some small multiplier of the damage to your trailer or cab, otherwise you would have you being told to do an illegal transport job.
