    In Denmark here: if the channel between Denmark and Sweden was to freeze over, and a Sweed was to walk over the ice, we are permitted to stop them by hitting them with a stick or simliar blunt weapon until they stop and walk back.

      He wasn't breaking the law, almost all of those laws have been repealed or he actually twisted the wording of the law so what he did wasn't illegal, for example the handling a salmon suspiciously is a law from the 1980's in relation to poaching. Had he been doing that in an area with salmon he probably would have been questioned about where he got the salmon.

      @@refsmithy Officers around British landmarks in London are usually armed so the fact it was an armed officer responding isn't exactly unusual considering where he was, but yes, generally people acting in a manner that isn't very normal around an area of high interest will get a more elevated response from law enforcement

      I actually heard about this law. I'm not sure if that's quite the proper wording of the law, because the intent of the law is to curb illegal fishing. So really considering that, "suspiciously" would mean carrying it around with fishing gear and likely other fish, or being nearby to a fisherman who may have caught the fish that person was carrying. Just carrying around a dead fish in the city in regular attire wouldn't count.
