Even though Nick probably didn't mean it, Jade 100% showed signs of being interested in girls. Whether it's her "feud" with Tori or her motherly instinct of Cat, if it wasn't a kid's show Bade probably wouldn't have been a thing for very long.

I always just saw it as maybe as much as she may despise or resent Tori, she's been nothing but nice to her even at her worst. So there's a bit of loyalty built up there. Like when Tori helped her get back with Beck, put on her play together, saved her from the prisoner, etc. Originally she came to Tori because she saw her as still unpopular so it didn't matter if Tori saw her crying and gave her incentive to help her. Or when Tori didn't rat her out about not actually hitting Jade during the stage fighting. Jade feels safe with Tori even though she continuously finds reasons to torment her, they butt heads and cause each other problems. But in the end they share the same group of friends so they might as well get along when they share a problem.

Jade and Tori grew to like each other over the course of the show. Tori clearly got into it sooner then Jade, her thirst for hugging Jade was strong, but Jade eventually started inviting Tori to touch her like in the Christmas episode. If this was on Teen Nick like Degrassi, she would not have gotten back with Beck. That play in Tori and Jade's play date would've ended with them kissing. Nick made one of the best bisexual pairings and were too scared to go all the way with it. Instead we get teases and soft confirmation but with Bade being endgame, I still like Jade and Tori hanging out though. They should've gotten the spinoff instead of Sam and Cat.
I saw a video in the yt channel of the guy who plays one of the irritating guys in "Tori and Jade's playdate" and he said that the original script gave hints that Tori and Jade kiss each other at the end of the play
@@hyuyu3799 No, reruns were aired on Teen Nick. New episodes of the show aired on regular Nickelodeon, which is why it couldn't go the distance like Degrassi was able to. If Victorious premiered and aired exclusively on Teen Nick, it could've went all the way with it's stories.

I think Jade would like to be more like Tori at the same time she feels that she has to compete with Tori. I know it's sounds weird, but I think Jade and Tori have a rivalry because for Jade, Tori is the only person who is actually a match for her in talent, looks and perseverance so they ended up competing because of that. At the same time, Tori has a quite better home life than Jade and Jade is projecting her sad feelings about her broken home in Tori because Tori has everything Jade has not. On top of all that, Jade likes Tori and doesn't feel comfortable with that because everyone likes Tori and she feels jealous of it, but she can't hate Tori because in the end, Tori is a really good friend to her. 😂
Actually, as complicated as that sounds, I feel like this pretty much sums it up entirely LOL I believe she actually genuinely likes Tori, and she doesn't like that, because she has always been able to easily keep everyone away except for Beck, and even he isn't ALL the way in sync with her. She's used to keeping everyone at bay, and once the first episode happened, she didn't even think Tori was worth getting to know, she just wanted to show her up and get her out of here. But then episode 3 happened.......and Jade is stuck. Jayniac explains it well in his Jade video, but that exchange after Tori intentionally DOESN'T retaliate after Jade got her in trouble on purpose, and showed her kindness anyway, it left Jade stunned. That's why she ended up just helping her clean, because she didn't know what else to do. She has never had someone, not named Beck, actually challenge her AND show her love, and see past her rage and actually treat her like a regular girl. And she doesn't know what to do about it, and even though she's smart, she's still very young, so her only impulse, at least for a long while, was to just lash out anyway and prove that instance wrong, because as far as Jade is concerned, there can't be people like that. Because if there were, then her viewpoint about life would have to adjust, and at her age, she has no idea how to do that.......but that's just my opinion 🤷🏾♂️🤣👀

@@melindajohnson5794 my thing is that Jade acted extremely similar towards Tori like Sam did with Freddie on iCarly. Considering Sam ended up falling for Freddie at one point, theres that pattern. Jade never lets anyone, not even her best friend Cat, touch her except Beck and Tori. And with Beck it's ONLY if they're dating. She constantly lets Tori touch her even when she says she hates her. This extends to even letting Tori jump on her back and give her a piggyback ride in the crossover episode with iCarly. Last one (but I've got a lot more) Jade noticably allows herself to be more vulnerable around Tori. Like in Wok Star or in Jade Dumps Beck. Theres more but those are what came up from the top of my head. Jade honestly just really struck me as that kid who's got a crush and picks on their crush for attention but also to hide it by denying that Tori was her friend. It wasn't healthy and in all honesty, it was likely super one sided, but theres something about the way Jade acts towards Tori that felt familiar to how Sam would pick on Freddie and Helga towards Arnold. Girl was kinda obsessed.
Personally, I like to think it's a combination of all three interpretations. I know, that's cheating. But when you think about it, it works. Jade first hates Tori for getting a little too handsy with Beck. She retaliates by humiliating Tori and framing her of something she didn't do. Then, when Tori goes through with her punishment (even though she has proof of her innocence) Jade feels bad about it once Tori explains why it's her in trouble and not Jade. That, to me, is when Jade stopped hating Tori and started to learn more about her. As Jade does more research of Tori and her life, she starts developing feelings for the girl. Her "Gay Awakening" if you will. To the point where Tori is the only person she can truly trust regardless of Jade's relationship status. Of course, with more research, Jade became jealous of the half-Latina. From her getting accepted into H.A. for being a last minute substitute for Trina's performance, to a family that love and supports her no matter Tori's chosen profession or lover. How does Jade cope with her jealousy toward Tori, she's mean to her. Jade yells, insults, and ruins Tori's day. Donating three pints of blood is definitely a day killer. However, Jade makes up it by showing Tori her softer side and allowing the privilege of touching without incurring Jade's wraith. You know what they say in the school yard, "If they're mean to you, they have a crush on you." Jade never said she hates Tori, only dislikes her. There is a difference. And the whole "Tori is not my friend" thing, women, for the most part, don't want to date their friends.

Oh this is going to be good. My interpretation is yes they are at least bisexual and had some form of a crush on each other. But there are plenty of other valid interpretations and I look forward to you exploring them in this video. I always found their relationship to be interesting and confusing.
My opinion, Jori definitely is gay. Cause in the beginning there's multiple events that could have easily reconciled whatever arguments they had in the past. When Jade helped Tori get out of detention, when Tori helped produce Jade's play, when the two of them teamed up as a duo for The Wood. Yet Jade constantly states that Tori is not her friend and doesn't like her. One could say that she believes Beck has feelings, but even after Tori Goes Platinum when Tori rejects Beck Jade still denies being friends. It could be her deflecting her feelings.
Also notice how in that episode where Sikowitz arranged a date between them in the beginning Jade said “I don’t wanna be your wife in the play” and Tori said “I don’t wanna be your husband in the play” and Jade said “Oh!” You can tell in her voice that she was hurt by that.
Whether jori is a thing or not I feel like it’s more than likely that Tori is attracted to women because Tori (who’s a big Katy Perry fan and of all the lyrics of all Katy’s hits to choose from) has the line “I kissed a girl” taped up in her locker

I know this was mostly about Jade's feelings for Tori but I can't help but think Tori's feelings play a part. There's definitely a side of the fandom that see Tori being the one with the one-sided feelings for Jade because of how much she goes out of her way to help Jade even though Jade supposedly "hates" her. Now I know that's also a major Tori characteristic. She really likes helping all of her friends. But the sympathetic look on her face after Beck dumps Jade in front of everyone to just the complete excitement she has at the idea that Jade considers her a "friend". Even as far as not kissing Beck in TGP when it would've been morally justified. Jade clearly means a lot to Tori despite their rocky relationship, and it almost seems like Jade picks up on that and teases her for it ("don't be shy") -- just another way to look at it. But I think all these theories have weight, I think their relationship evolved over time so Jade started with hate, was mostly jealous, but ultimately has affection for Tori that's hard for her to admit (and maybe it's harder bc it's gay?? lol),
Jade and Tori to me is one of the best friendship/relationship development in a long time, the two started out hating each other but slowly (and I mean slowly) began liking each other in a realistic way that isn't out of nowhere and just them all of a sudden liking each other, it takes them a while to get past their differences and get along, possibly more than just getting along like friends, personally I think that it's romantic feelings both ways from the way they later act towards each other later on in the series, but it's Nick, I stopped watching it a while ago, but as far as a recall, they never had a lesbian/gay relationship in any show. Jade and Tori would have been perfect for that, going from Jade hating Tori, to frenemies, to friends, to good friends, then going to girlfriends instead of best friends.

ooooh i love this! I think their relationship was really complicated, and probably a layered combination of all three. It’s easy to surmise that Jade’s initial and ongoing ‘dislike’ of Tori is rooted in insecurity - she says herself that Tori is pretty, kind, and still manages to be popular, not to mention being able to draw people in and to be accepted, something that Jade, due to the exact nature of her own charisma, can’t accomplish to the same degree. Although their group of friends obviously accepts her for who she is, there is a degree of hostility she has to maintain in order for her to feel dignified or respected, whereas Tori doesn’t seem to have to jump through all of the same hurdles. She’s surrounded by a network of supportive friends and (mostly) family, who’s talent is easily recognized by peers and teachers alike. Tori has seemingly just realized her own talent, and is free to express her new interests and be applauded for them; Jade has been at Hollywood Arts for a while, has cultivated her own brand as an artist, and continues to do so despite the qualms of her emotionally repressed and probably conservative father. Compared to Jade, Tori comes off as irritatingly privileged, and she responds to her in that context. Jade seems to have a slight issue with the concept of ownership, too, best demonstrated with Beck. Not only has Tori come to disrupt that balance, but the first day she meets her she literally kisses her boyfriend in front of her. Anyone would be upset, and when it comes to Jade, it’s not a stretch that her behavior towards Tori would be hostile, unfriendly, and mocking. That being said, there is clear evidence of them becoming friends throughout the series, if not frenemies, and one of Jade’s highlights as a character is that she’s shown multiple times, significantly in the narrative, to have a heart and a soft side when it comes to all of her friends - the most notable examples (not including her boyfriend) being Cat, Tori, and Andre, arguably in that order. She is also very clearly coded as bisexual, at least, as much as Nickelodeon could get away with it (ie “her favorite movie is the scissoring” lmao, the “c’mon, don’t be shy”), and the pairing itself is alluded to (albeit in jest) when she and Tori play husband and wife, and then spend a whole episode learning to work through their issues and find their inherent compatibility, resulting in one of the show’s best bangers, Take a Hint, in which they go on a date and mutually reject two boys who try to hit on them, denouncing both misogyny and - through a certain lens - the heteronormative agenda. She’s also not above doing Tori favors - in the Christmas episode, she knows exactly what to tell Tori to get Andre, and also helps in the execution of the gift, something she could’ve easily refused to do. It’s definitely notable that throughout the show, Jade allows and even encourages Tori to physically touch her, something that she’s dissuaded Cat, Robbie, and others (even Beck in one episode, coincidentally the one where she plays a married couple with Tori), suggesting that beneath the surface, the aversion she has to Tori has begun to become mostly a facade (she almost certainly wouldn’t have let Tori touch her in the first season, at least without reason). Tori is also conventionally attractive; she’s referred to her as the “pretty” one, Jade’s attraction to her might manifest in the way she interacts, which is rude, borderline cruel at times, but charged with a few moments of vulnerability. Considering the nature of her relationship with her father, it’s possible that she doesn’t have healthy or conventional models of parental or romantic relationships, which might partially contribute to her own romantic and by extent sexual relationships; her and Beck’s relationship is largely founded on arguing, and although he later explains that he “likes a girl with strong opinions” and there is likely a playfully sexual element to the consistent fighting, this might be her default setting and the best way she knows to express her emotions on the daily. Another conquest is Moose, with whom she didn’t have an interest in dating long-term and pulled a short-term con through tricks and manipulation (although the other girls also resorted to this). In other words, if she gives someone the time of day, she won’t pretend that she’s not volatile, confrontational, coy, etc. and in a way, her giving Tori the hardest time is the best evaluation of if she can handle it. And of course, when it really really matters, they’re there for each other when perhaps others (lmao like you said, Beck, which is most of the time) aren’t. Jade sacrifices a potential career to give Tori something that she actually earned, Tori helps her with her play and reconciling with her father, early on even Jade returns to help Tori clean during detention to atone for framing her, and in her greatest time of need, Jade turns to Tori, shows up at her house uninvited, and cries because she innately trusts her, or at least trusts her knowledge that Tori is a good person and will help her when she asks. Cat, who is likely her best friend, isn’t involved in this, which would be odd until you consider that beyond Tori and Jade’s relationships with Beck, Jade and Tori actually have the most developed, fluctuating, and focused relationship in the show, and likely have impacted each other the most. In conclusion ya they’re gay

About Jade and Andre, I loved the fact there was scene in the Handbone King episode were they get dinner together, I think it good that they include little moments like that or like when Robbie and Tori get lunch in the episode of how Trina got into Hollywood Art's, moments like that made it feel like a real friendships in my opinion, it not just a group
Here's something I've noticed: In The Worst Couple, when Jade says that Tori is not her friend, Tori doesn't roll her eyes nor she gets offended over this despite being next to Jade. In fact, Victori-Yes mirrored the pilot episode in a way. Jade getting Tori to do something embarrassing and Tori turning the tables on Jade.
i think it could be a mix of theory 2 and 3. it's not impossible to both envy AND have romantic feelings for someone. might even explain why their dynamic is all over the place lol
Interpretation 4: victorious was written in a way that shows tori getting everything she wants. She wants to touch jade? She gets to. She wants the secret to a good performance? She gets it. She gets everything she wants regardless of other characters' personalities, so maybe jade's actions are more a result of tori than her own volition 🤔
Oh yeah and I supposed she wanted to have her blood stolen or to be humiliated while singing the national anthem. These are some of the few times Tori didn't get what she wanted.

to add to your point at 1:50, whenever tori asks what any term having to do with acting means, jade is very annoyed. she’s mad that while she has a passion for the arts and probably had to fight a lot to even get into hollywood arts, and has an unsupportive father, tori is just a girl who by chance got the chance to enroll and (probably) wasn’t interested in the arts before going to the school

i definitely agree that her father could be the main reason why Jade could be suppressing her sexuality especially since during the play episode she seems to genuinely care about his approval (not that he deserves it but that's a separate discussion)
I always believed the second interpretation. Especially in the Breakfast Bunch episode when she got mad about Tori learning a trick from her dad. Now that I'm older I think it may also be the third interpretation too. She hated her out of jealousy because she thinks Tori has it all, but after the third episode she felt comfortable with her (vented to her about Beck, her dad, etc) because she feels she is easy to talk to and knows Tori will not purposely try to embarrass her. She has known that since the third episode when Tori didn't rat Jade out for faking her injury. Before that, she hated Tori for what happened in the first episode and jealousy. After that, Jade gained respect for Tori (who she's jealous of and thought would steal her boyfriend) and knew she could trust her. That didn't mean she'd allow herself to be her friend or stop being insecure around her, especially when it came to her and Beck. By the end of the show she didn't completely hate Tori and secretly considered her a friend, but her jealousy and insecurities got in her way, made it hard for her to attempt to be her friend. She was comfortable with Tori as her enemy, use to it. It was obvious in the writing of the show. It would make sense that if on top of that, she felt an attraction she tried to ignore and later developed feelings for Tori which made her hate her more because she tries to ignore them and Tori is straight. Either way I ship them, Tandre, Jandre, and Beri.
the first thing they teach us in screenwriting class is that you sometimes write a novel on a charecter and that they honestly do put in all this deep thought to the characters so they can get those subtlies in acting them out. So i hope people will understand also one day that these theories all have merit and aren't "digging too deep for a kids show"

Jade was clearly bi. It was clear back then. While part of it was that Nickelodeon would not have allowed it, it is also true that back then they didn't feel like thy had to shove it down your throat like they do now.
During my initial watch I supported the second theory and only saw it that way but after a rewatch and seeing others opinions I now think it's a mix of 2 and 3 but that's just me great video appreciate the content.

This analysis was very well done! There's always a tendency to gloss over any homoerotic subtext and I'm glad you went in depth exploring their moments and what it means for the characters, especially Jade. Also Jade is a bisexual icon and she can step on my whole gay throat anytime anywhere.
Look, even if the necklace thing wasn't there, I would refuse to believe that a scissor obsessed girl whose favorite movie is literally called "The Scissoring" isn't a *wink wink* from the show runners. Plus Jade's love for scissors was really introduced and reinforced with the show's progression which could be interpreted as a sign for her feelings evolving (and/or the show runners deciding to put in secret messages like the scissor thing and the necklace; this is done frequently in media, HSM2's "I don't dance" with a clothes switch between Chad and Ryan afterward comes to mind).

I always just saw it as maybe as much as she may despise or resent Tori, she's been nothing but nice to her even at her worst. So there's a bit of loyalty built up there. Like when Tori helped her get back with Beck, put on her play together, saved her from the prisoner, etc. Originally she came to Tori because she saw her as still unpopular so it didn't matter if Tori saw her crying and gave her incentive to help her. Or when Tori didn't rat her out about not actually hitting Jade during the stage fighting. Jade feels safe with Tori even though she continuously finds reasons to torment her, they butt heads and cause each other problems. But in the end they share the same group of friends so they might as well get along when they share a problem.

Jade and Tori grew to like each other over the course of the show. Tori clearly got into it sooner then Jade, her thirst for hugging Jade was strong, but Jade eventually started inviting Tori to touch her like in the Christmas episode. If this was on Teen Nick like Degrassi, she would not have gotten back with Beck. That play in Tori and Jade's play date would've ended with them kissing. Nick made one of the best bisexual pairings and were too scared to go all the way with it. Instead we get teases and soft confirmation but with Bade being endgame, I still like Jade and Tori hanging out though. They should've gotten the spinoff instead of Sam and Cat.
Victorious should've been like Degrassi, that would've been amazing to see Tori and Jade as a couple.

I think Jade would like to be more like Tori at the same time she feels that she has to compete with Tori. I know it's sounds weird, but I think Jade and Tori have a rivalry because for Jade, Tori is the only person who is actually a match for her in talent, looks and perseverance so they ended up competing because of that. At the same time, Tori has a quite better home life than Jade and Jade is projecting her sad feelings about her broken home in Tori because Tori has everything Jade has not. On top of all that, Jade likes Tori and doesn't feel comfortable with that because everyone likes Tori and she feels jealous of it, but she can't hate Tori because in the end, Tori is a really good friend to her. 😂
Actually, as complicated as that sounds, I feel like this pretty much sums it up entirely LOL
I believe she actually genuinely likes Tori, and she doesn't like that, because she has always been able to easily keep everyone away except for Beck, and even he isn't ALL the way in sync with her. She's used to keeping everyone at bay, and once the first episode happened, she didn't even think Tori was worth getting to know, she just wanted to show her up and get her out of here.
But then episode 3 happened.......and Jade is stuck.
Jayniac explains it well in his Jade video, but that exchange after Tori intentionally DOESN'T retaliate after Jade got her in trouble on purpose, and showed her kindness anyway, it left Jade stunned. That's why she ended up just helping her clean, because she didn't know what else to do. She has never had someone, not named Beck, actually challenge her AND show her love, and see past her rage and actually treat her like a regular girl. And she doesn't know what to do about it, and even though she's smart, she's still very young, so her only impulse, at least for a long while, was to just lash out anyway and prove that instance wrong, because as far as Jade is concerned, there can't be people like that.
Because if there were, then her viewpoint about life would have to adjust, and at her age, she has no idea how to do that.......but that's just my opinion 🤷🏾♂️🤣👀

Jade never lets anyone, not even her best friend Cat, touch her except Beck and Tori. And with Beck it's ONLY if they're dating. She constantly lets Tori touch her even when she says she hates her. This extends to even letting Tori jump on her back and give her a piggyback ride in the crossover episode with iCarly.
Last one (but I've got a lot more) Jade noticably allows herself to be more vulnerable around Tori. Like in Wok Star or in Jade Dumps Beck. Theres more but those are what came up from the top of my head.
Jade honestly just really struck me as that kid who's got a crush and picks on their crush for attention but also to hide it by denying that Tori was her friend. It wasn't healthy and in all honesty, it was likely super one sided, but theres something about the way Jade acts towards Tori that felt familiar to how Sam would pick on Freddie and Helga towards Arnold. Personally, I like to think it's a combination of all three interpretations. I know, that's cheating. But when you think about it, it works. Jade first hates Tori for getting a little too handsy with Beck. She retaliates by humiliating Tori and framing her of something she didn't do. Then, when Tori goes through with her punishment (even though she has proof of her innocence) Jade feels bad about it once Tori explains why it's her in trouble and not Jade. That, to me, is when Jade stopped hating Tori and started to learn more about her. As Jade does more research of Tori and her life, she starts developing feelings for the girl. Her "Gay Awakening" if you will. To the point where Tori is the only person she can truly trust regardless of Jade's relationship status. Of course, with more research, Jade became jealous of the half-Latina. From her getting accepted into H.A. for being a last minute substitute for Trina's performance, to a family that love and supports her no matter Tori's chosen profession or lover. How does Jade cope with her jealousy toward Tori, she's mean to her. Jade yells, insults, and ruins Tori's day. Donating three pints of blood is definitely a day killer. However, Jade makes up it by showing Tori her softer side and allowing the privilege of touching without incurring Jade's wraith. You know what they say in the school yard, "If they're mean to you, they have a crush on you." Jade never said she hates Tori, only dislikes her. There is a difference. And the whole "Tori is not my friend" thing, women, for the most part, don't want to date their friends.

My opinion, Jori definitely is gay. Cause in the beginning there's multiple events that could have easily reconciled whatever arguments they had in the past. When Jade helped Tori get out of detention, when Tori helped produce Jade's play, when the two of them teamed up as a duo for The Wood. Yet Jade constantly states that Tori is not her friend and doesn't like her. One could say that she believes Beck has feelings, but even after Tori Goes Platinum when Tori rejects Beck Jade still denies being friends. It could be her deflecting her feelings.
Also notice how in that episode where Sikowitz arranged a date between them in the beginning Jade said “I don’t wanna be your wife in the play” and Tori said “I don’t wanna be your husband in the play” and Jade said “Oh!” You can tell in her voice that she was hurt by that.

I know this was mostly about Jade's feelings for Tori but I can't help but think Tori's feelings play a part. There's definitely a side of the fandom that see Tori being the one with the one-sided feelings for Jade because of how much she goes out of her way to help Jade even though Jade supposedly "hates" her. Now I know that's also a major Tori characteristic. She really likes helping all of her friends. But the sympathetic look on her face after Beck dumps Jade in front of everyone to just the complete excitement she has at the idea that Jade considers her a "friend". Even as far as not kissing Beck in TGP when it would've been morally justified. Jade clearly means a lot to Tori despite their rocky relationship, and it almost seems like Jade picks up on that and teases her for it ("don't be shy") -- just another way to look at it. But I think all these theories have weight, I think their relationship evolved over time so Jade started with hate, was mostly jealous, but ultimately has affection for Tori that's hard for her to admit (and maybe it's harder bc it's gay?? lol),

Jade and Tori to me is one of the best friendship/relationship development in a long time, the two started out hating each other but slowly (and I mean slowly) began liking each other in a realistic way that isn't out of nowhere and just them all of a sudden liking each other, it takes them a while to get past their differences and get along, possibly more than just getting along like friends, personally I think that it's romantic feelings both ways from the way they later act towards each other later on in the series, but it's Nick, I stopped watching it a while ago, but as far as a recall, they never had a lesbian/gay relationship in any show.
Jade and Tori would have been perfect for that, going from Jade hating Tori, to frenemies, to friends, to good friends, then going to girlfriends instead of best friends.
I think the second and third interpretations make the most sense.

I think their relationship was really complicated, and probably a layered combination of all three. It’s easy to surmise that Jade’s initial and ongoing ‘dislike’ of Tori is rooted in insecurity - she says herself that Tori is pretty, kind, and still manages to be popular, not to mention being able to draw people in and to be accepted, something that Jade, due to the exact nature of her own charisma, can’t accomplish to the same degree. Although their group of friends obviously accepts her for who she is, there is a degree of hostility she has to maintain in order for her to feel dignified or respected, whereas Tori doesn’t seem to have to jump through all of the same hurdles. She’s surrounded by a network of supportive friends and (mostly) family, who’s talent is easily recognized by peers and teachers alike. Tori has seemingly just realized her own talent, and is free to express her new interests and be applauded for them; Jade has been at Hollywood Arts for a while, has cultivated her own brand as an artist, and continues to do so despite the qualms of her emotionally repressed and probably conservative father. Compared to Jade, Tori comes off as irritatingly privileged, and she responds to her in that context. Jade seems to have a slight issue with the concept of ownership, too, best demonstrated with Beck. Not only has Tori come to disrupt that balance, but the first day she meets her she literally kisses her boyfriend in front of her. Anyone would be upset, and when it comes to Jade, it’s not a stretch that her behavior towards Tori would be hostile, unfriendly, and mocking.
That being said, there is clear evidence of them becoming friends throughout the series, if not frenemies, and one of Jade’s highlights as a character is that she’s shown multiple times, significantly in the narrative, to have a heart and a soft side when it comes to all of her friends - the most notable examples (not including her boyfriend) being Cat, Tori, and Andre, arguably in that order. She is also very clearly coded as bisexual, at least, as much as Nickelodeon could get away with it (ie “her favorite movie is the scissoring” lmao, the “c’mon, don’t be shy”), and the pairing itself is alluded to (albeit in jest) when she and Tori play husband and wife, and then spend a whole episode learning to work through their issues and find their inherent compatibility, resulting in one of the show’s best bangers, Take a Hint, in which they go on a date and mutually reject two boys who try to hit on them, denouncing both misogyny and - through a certain lens - the heteronormative agenda. She’s also not above doing Tori favors - in the Christmas episode, she knows exactly what to tell Tori to get Andre, and also helps in the execution of the gift, something she could’ve easily refused to do.
It’s definitely notable that throughout the show, Jade allows and even encourages Tori to physically touch her, something that she’s dissuaded Cat, Robbie, and others (even Beck in one episode, coincidentally the one where she plays a married couple with Tori), suggesting that beneath the surface, the aversion she has to Tori has begun to become mostly a facade (she almost certainly wouldn’t have let Tori touch her in the first season, at least without reason). Tori is also conventionally attractive; she’s referred to her as the “pretty” one, Jade’s attraction to her might manifest in the way she interacts, which is rude, borderline cruel at times, but charged with a few moments of vulnerability. Considering the nature of her relationship with her father, it’s possible that she doesn’t have healthy or conventional models of parental or romantic relationships, which might partially contribute to her own romantic and by extent sexual relationships; her and Beck’s relationship is largely founded on arguing, and although he later explains that he “likes a girl with strong opinions” and there is likely a playfully sexual element to the consistent fighting, this might be her default setting and the best way she knows to express her emotions on the daily. Another conquest is Moose, with whom she didn’t have an interest in dating long-term and pulled a short-term con through tricks and manipulation (although the other girls also resorted to this). In other words, if she gives someone the time of day, she won’t pretend that she’s not volatile, confrontational, coy, etc. and in a way, her giving Tori the hardest time is the best evaluation of if she can handle it.
And of course, when it really really matters, they’re there for each other when perhaps others (lmao like you said, Beck, which is most of the time) aren’t. Jade sacrifices a potential career to give Tori something that she actually earned, Tori helps her with her play and reconciling with her father, early on even Jade returns to help Tori clean during detention to atone for framing her, and in her greatest time of need, Jade turns to Tori, shows up at her house uninvited, and cries because she innately trusts her, or at least trusts her knowledge that Tori is a good person and will help her when she asks. Cat, who is likely her best friend, isn’t involved in this, which would be odd until you consider that beyond Tori and Jade’s relationships with Beck, Jade and Tori actually have the most developed, fluctuating, and focused relationship in the show, and likely have impacted each other the most.

to add to your point at 1:50, whenever tori asks what any term having to do with acting means, jade is very annoyed. she’s mad that while she has a passion for the arts and probably had to fight a lot to even get into hollywood arts, and has an unsupportive father, tori is just a girl who by chance got the chance to enroll and (probably) wasn’t interested in the arts before going to the school

i think shes jealous and attracted to tori. Jealous that Tori has an accepting home,is talented, and praised for said talents, but is also attracted to those traits and feels cared for by her.

i definitely agree that her father could be the main reason why Jade could be suppressing her sexuality especially since during the play episode she seems to genuinely care about his approval (not that he deserves it but that's a separate discussion)
I always believed the second interpretation. Especially in the Breakfast Bunch episode when she got mad about Tori learning a trick from her dad. Now that I'm older I think it may also be the third interpretation too. She hated her out of jealousy because she thinks Tori has it all, but after the third episode she felt comfortable with her (vented to her about Beck, her dad, etc) because she feels she is easy to talk to and knows Tori will not purposely try to embarrass her. She has known that since the third episode when Tori didn't rat Jade out for faking her injury. Before that, she hated Tori for what happened in the first episode and jealousy. After that, Jade gained respect for Tori (who she's jealous of and thought would steal her boyfriend) and knew she could trust her. That didn't mean she'd allow herself to be her friend or stop being insecure around her, especially when it came to her and Beck. By the end of the show she didn't completely hate Tori and secretly considered her a friend, but her jealousy and insecurities got in her way, made it hard for her to attempt to be her friend. She was comfortable with Tori as her enemy, use to it. It was obvious in the writing of the show. It would make sense that if on top of that, she felt an attraction she tried to ignore and later developed feelings for Tori which made her hate her more because she tries to ignore them and Tori is straight. Either way I ship them, Tandre, Jandre, and Beri.

the first thing they teach us in screenwriting class is that you sometimes write a novel on a charecter and that they honestly do put in all this deep thought to the characters so they can get those subtlies in acting them out. So i hope people will understand also one day that these theories all have merit and aren't "digging too deep for a kids show"

During my initial watch I supported the second theory and only saw it that way but after a rewatch and seeing others opinions I now think it's a mix of 2 and 3 but that's just me great video appreciate the content.

This analysis was very well done! There's always a tendency to gloss over any homoerotic subtext and I'm glad you went in depth exploring their moments and what it means for the characters, especially Jade. Also Jade is a bisexual icon and she can step on my whole gay throat anytime anywhere.
Look, even if the necklace thing wasn't there, I would refuse to believe that a scissor obsessed girl whose favorite movie is literally called "The Scissoring" isn't a *wink wink* from the show runners.
Plus Jade's love for scissors was really introduced and reinforced with the show's progression which could be interpreted as a sign for her feelings evolving (and/or the show runners deciding to put in secret messages like the scissor thing and the necklace; this is done frequently in media, HSM2's "I don't dance" with a clothes switch between Chad and Ryan afterward comes to mind).
