Irrational perpetrators aren't deterred by a single guard, in most cases. How employers discharge employees should be addressed. All too many disgruntled and disturbed ex-employees leave and come back and shoot their former associates, sad to say. Counselling and compassion are sorely needed here.

It is like if a doctor comes across someone dying on the road and is expected to try to help them stay alive. Bet there no "defund the police" people there while the shooting was going on. I am proud of the police officers that came to the shooting, it takes courage to go in a shooting like that.

@Aria concealed carry is for self defense not for being a hero, you would know that if you took a class. Its ok to be ignorant just don't claim people with guns need to be heroes. Cause there's plenty of videos of "heroes" dying because they chose to use their concealed carry firearm. Protect yourself first so you can go home to your family they are the most important, not random people.
@@pcsoyboy563 The law is there to control people or protect them from themselves. In reality, what is right depends upon your level of training and readiness. It is like if a doctor comes across someone dying on the road and is expected to try to help them stay alive. Same thing, if you have police, military, or other equivalent training and are an expert is quick situational/risk analysis and have the ability to act quickly, you not acting quickly could get you and others in there killed just as much as acting without being properly prepared. It definitely depends upon the situation and your level of expertise.

If we can make laws to "control" people or to "protect them from themselves" then we might as well ban everything that has the possibility to harm. Alcohol banned, cars banned, knifes banned, banning things or preventing someone to do something is only going to inhibit people who actually follow the law. Criminals dont follow these laws thats what makes them criminals. Restrictions on good people doesnt help anybody but the criminal.

I work at king snoopers in boulder, thankfully not this store, but at my store back in November I had to tackle a man with a gun attacking a 16 year old clerk, a month later someone set our lobby on fire. We deal with abuse every day at the hands of people, we put our lives on the line with COVID and the public. Respect your grocery store workers. We work hard for all y’all

I don’t even feel safe going to my closest store at night anymore. They even have an armed security guard and I STILL feel unsafe. I totally respect all grocery store workers! They work their butts off and put up with whacked out people all the time (I don’t dare call them customers because most of em just shoplift)

There should be a standard protocol response to the press about a shooting it’s not about his ‘personal feeling’ with his colleague. It’s not that difficult to deliver condolence to ALL victims.

He actually mentioned the civilians first, and last, the officer that he likely knew.
He was just stating that a police officer died among the casualties. He also stated that he was trying to keep the privacy of those involved safe AND it is a active investigation... So what else would you have liked him to say? Any information about a case that is currently active is private for a reason. Both for the sake of the victims and for the sake of a secure case going forward.
No one besides the victims were supposed to die. When a political terrorist act like this is used by anti-gunners, only innocent people are supposed to die.

I am rather disappointed that with multiple homicides, the gunman was allowed to live. Taxpayers are now wasting money at the hospital keeping him alive, then feeding and housing him for the rest of his life. You walk into a market and open fire you shouldn't be allowed to walk out alive.
