You have no idea how helpful it is to see videos from someone who is an actual expat and not just someone working in KL. There’s nothing wrong with any lifestyle but it’s useful to have content from someone more senior in their career. Thank you!
Glad to help, Kyron! I was there 3 years, just moved last month to Indonesia. If I can answer anything else, don't hesitate to message. Are you moving there soon?

Having an income of $2000 per month I cannot rent a condo in Singapore. As the rental is very high. But fortunately I'm happy that I'm renting a condo in JOHOR BAHRU. The rental is RM1200 per month equivalent to SGD 480 which I could afford. There's a rooftop pool, jacuzzi and other facilities.
Hi Angela, I agree with you that the over water lounge and pool is gorgeous! I like the idea that you need to walk in the water! Signing the lease for another 2 years shows that you really like Malaysia! Many more years I guess? ;) Your condo is sort of a minimalist design which is pretty nice! Since it is in the middle of KLCC, I can't imagine the rental! :O But most importantly, comfortable house is what everyone is looking for! :)
Heyyyy yes, I love that over water lounge. Honestly it's quite magical, especially during a storm :-) The place is quite minimalist and that's my style but I do have special things and photos and art coming from Hong Kong soon so the look will change a bit once I can add my personal touch. But yes, I'm a minimalist by nature, hate 'stuff' and live by the motto 'Collect Moments, Not Things' :-) What's yours?
That's very kind of you to say. It looks like you're into real estate here in MY. If you ever want me to shoot a walk through review like this one for any properties you represent let me know. I have a new Leica now so my video quality is much improved :-)
I am actually considering renting at Hampshire Place and this is how i found your video. I am starting work beginning of next year. At first i was searching in mont and the other expat areas. But for the exactly the same reasons i am now searching more downtown area. Any other buildings you can recommend? I am traying to avoid the 50% AIRBNB buildings. Maybe we bumb into eachother next year. Your video helped a lot. Thank you Angela!
I am currently staying in the Marc Residence. I have several questions about leasing arrangements and places to choose from in KL. Would you care to meet for coffee inside the Towers to share your experiences?
Very nice place! I'm curious if you used a particular service to help you find a place to live. I'd like to know, as I may be moving there in the future. I especially enjoy your videos about your every day life. Thank you!
Hi Pamela, sorry for late reply. yes I had an insider on the management team. If you send me a DM on FB or email me I can connect you. Then you won't pay the 1 month agency fee ;-)
Greetings,. Angela . Visiting with my family in KL on coming February,, for a week vacation. Probably interested to go genting highlights, and Cameron also. Its my 2nd visit in Malysia. Any advice to stay in KL . or further trip will b appreciate. We lives in Taiwan . Thanks in advance.
Ohhh Cameron Highlands is very fun. I'm launching a Guide video next week now that all my reviews are launched for Cameron. You can find them all here: ruclips.net/p/PL88xCnJRARRnnQfRynrRqiBF1ay05i4jK I haven't been to Genting Highlands yet but I would recommend driving to Penang from Cameron instead of to Genting maybe. Penang is very cool with so much more to eat, see, and do :-)
Expat Angela Thanks...,,,, Angelina 4 reply, what's ur suggestion about travel in Malysia,,, like we wanna go from KL to Camron and as u suggest Penang ,,, Self drive or Grab taxi is good, or air travel? We have been once last Year and we stayed aa Bukiit Bintang close to Little India. Any recommendations bnb stay? Thanks for ur time.
I saw an online comment elsewhere that the AC is so loud at night that you can't sleep properly. Is that true based on your stay there? And are there any problems with the condo?
Thanks! I don't know about retirement visas and wouldn't feel comfortable giving advise about visas as it's not my area at allllll, hope you understand :-)
hi Angela. Am from Mauritius n want Malaysia as second home. wanted few info about the procedure to go through. If u could help would appreciate a lot . thanks and lovely stay
Heyyyy I'm a digital marketing and comms professional, I don't work in that arena at all. If you join one of the expat groups here on Facebook and post a question, I'm sure someone expert in that can help you :-)
Sorry, I only know my own rent. But if you send me a private message with your number or email I can connect you to the owner of the building who has several flats here (including a 2b/2b that is currently empty).
Hi Angela, nice apartment! You should do a video comparing all the countries you've lived in, in terms of food, culture, people, cost of living, ease of transportation, safety, quality of life etc. I think it'd be a great clip, esp. if you mix in videos or images from each country as you narrate and compare. As far as KL, when I was there the locals mentioned an area that was very popular with expats, I think it's called Bangsar, have you been there? Are there a lot of expats in KL? I saw a lot of Arabs when I was there.
Heyyyyy, I don't have long term plans beyond a few years for now. I imagine myself moving to Australia at some point but not sure 100% why to be honest :-) As far as Singapore vs. KL I prefer Kuala Lumpur all day long! Singapore is fabulous to visit or for a short term exploration but it's too squeaky clean and new for me :-) How about you? Which is your favourite?
Honestly even as a Singaporean myself i would definitely choose KL for economic and more food choices reasons though. U should traveled to Port Dicksin ir Tioman Island Expat Angela
I can't imagine settling in a place permanently while being viewed as a perpetual foreigner, but then some people like that because they can stay above the fray when it comes to local politics. Honestly with the western world now becoming so multicultural, KL in some ways probably feels like a smaller, tropical version of NYC or Sydney. I love Singapore, it is definitely a safer, cleaner and more modern city compared to KL, but you pay a high price for the cleanliness and safety, it's much more expensive, even just to visit. KL surprised me. I didn't think I'd like it so much, especially the area around the Petronas Towers. Suria Mall and the Pavillion are cooler than any mall I've visited, and I love the Petronas Towers, they are truly spectacular.
just in condo or apartment and some office complexes in kuala lumpur they employed nepali (gurkha) as security personal. because of their english proficiency and paid a little less than local because of their basic amenities such as lodging and transport. above all gov only granted nepali works as security personal based on several reason..
Hi Susan, when I first moved in it was 4,500/mo but then it decreased in 2018 to 3,500/mo. I don't know how much it rents for now, I moved away last fall.
You’ll have to live outside the KLCC area to find anything with that price. Or maybe you can rent a room for that price but it won’t be a really nice condo. That unit rents for around 4K per month, depending on which management company you rent from.
Oh wow, really? None of my Malaysian friends take baths.. They all shower. I take one a few times a way just to relax with candles and watch Netflix at night before bed. Love them.
Expat Angela you should check rhys William. He's an expat and speak fluent Malay. Better to know a little bit of Malaysian language coz most of people here not very good at speaking.
Moving to Malaysia for university next January and this made me 100% more psyched!! Thanks for the quality content💖

18 months and continuing... happy staying in Malaysia, Angela :)
Thank youuuuu :-)
7 months as an expats in malaysia so far I am still inlove in KL.
Oh god ! who doesn't love to sit and just chill out on that hanging bed ? With the sound of the water ! Perfect ! Keep it up Angela ! Nice tour !
Right? That water lounge was such a good idea by the architect :-) Thank you very much for the kind comment. Have a great weekend ahead :-)
Expat Angela My pleasure ! U too ! 😊
+Expat Angela how much is the rent per month of this condo
Hello Angela, I'm thinking of moving to KL in the next year or two, I paid a 4 day visit back in February this year and loved it.
Yeah it's an awesome city. I'm moving back there at the end of December when I finish my 50 days here in Pakistan. Sooooo excited :-)
@@AngelaCarson I might be popping to KL over Easter 2021, be nice to see you if possible, I have questions I need answers to regarding living there :)

Yes, it's wild right? I moved here form Hong Kong and my rent was reduced by almost 500% haha
hi angela,,,nice place,,love KL,,heading back later this year
Thanks! KL is such a great city, I love it too! :-)
Good sized unit for 1 person.

Expat Angela Oh, I like to collect stuff but at the same time I like everything to be as simple as possible! Quite contradicting eh? Haha!
It's so refreshing to watch a building being described from your point of view!! Awesome work! Hope to see more sharing like these!!

Enjoy your stay. It's beautiful
Thanks for this upload! Great place
Wow! Hampshire is nice 😍😍

Hi Jon - I can connect you to the building manager of 157 Hampshire Place if you're interested. She has several units they rent out.

It's too hard to give recommendations without knowing your budget :-(
I work in that Hampshire building 😊
I saw an online comment elsewhere that the AC is so loud at night that you can't sleep properly. Is that true based on your stay there? And are there any problems with the condo?
Ohhhhh I don't use a/c at night, just the fan so not sure. I love the building. Just live high up so you don't hear the traffic :-)
It is a Beautiful home. Love the over-water lounge. :)
Thanks, yes ... that's my favourite part of the building :-)
Hi, I'm from America, id like to live in KL, am I able to obtain an ID card ? How long can I stay there with my passport?
Its beautiful
Such a great building, yes it is beautiful :-) The outdoor communal spaces really make it special.
Hi Angela,
Do you have any sites you can recommend me to look at apartments to rent from?
The 2 big ones are iproperty and propertyguru :-)
Nice
Great video. Is it pretty easy to get a visa to live there, like retirement visa ? We can see ourselves living there.
Thanks! I don't know about retirement visas and wouldn't feel comfortable giving advise about visas as it's not my area at allllll, hope you understand :-)
Expat Angela no problem. Thanks for your quick reply. Really enjoy your videos.
there is retirement visa of 10 years called Malaysia my second home, u can google it

Malaysian Fun Fact: Most (90% probably) of the Security Guards are Non-Malaysian... lol
I want to be Tae's water bottle yeah lol because Malaysians hate to work as security in their country. So Bangladeshi had to work as a security.

lovely information-thank you. I was wondering if you can share with me how much the three bedroom costed you in mont Kiara?
Hi - sorry for my late reply. The 3 bedroom in Meriden in Mont Kiara was 5k.
What job you do there
How much you pay per month
It used to be 4.5k but it was lowered last year to 3.5k :-)
nice apt!
Only 3 baths a week ? Malaysians take at least 2 baths a day due to the hot weather lol

sogekingable suprising!!!! malaysian mostly cant speak english? Where are you from? Chengdu? Natuna?
Nawawi Matin can't speak and not very good is two different meaning lah. Saya orang malaysia.
Why do you sound so cocky? Attitude issue?
Would have been quite interesting. But that brainless, noisy background music makes it plainly prohibitive to listen to. I'm out.
You make the same mistake that 95 % of the video bloggers make. You constantly keep showing yourself instead showing the object you're talking about.
