@mary - I think you're referring to Jomtien, which is a suburb of Pattaya City in TH. I've been to Pattaya, Bangkok & Kuala Lumpur. I think BKK & KL are more equivalent, since they're both capital cities. Very busy, bustling & alive. The rents are similar too, as well as cost of living. Pattaya is 1.5 to 2H south of BKK. It's (in)famous for its red light district but it's also a vibrant seaside city. Jomtien is the part of Pattaya which is more suburb/ residential & quieter. There are lots of expats in Pattaya, also many malls & condos. It's a seaside city, so if you want the beach, it's may be for you. Hua Hin is a beach town a bit farther south of Pattaya. It's a smaller town, also has expats but is more laid back.
I think the timing of your buildings development and the impact of covid was probably a disaster for the retail spaces. We have had a similar "timing" issue with retail space here in Korea in otherwise newish, lovely buildings. On to 20k!
I knew Malaysia was way cheaper than the US but my 👄 dropped when I saw the price it! I was thinking it at least cost 1500 to 2k.😲 I would never leave the building...

This is anecdotal, I cannot quote the sources. I am not a realtor. The bits & pieces I've read suggest that the highend property market in Kuala Lumpur is more on the over-supply side. However, it is far from a bubble burst. Generally, the economy is vibrant & is expected to grow fast, as with the region. For renters the prices may not be stagnant & is expected to grow. The building Taylor lives is so imposing. Surprisingly, the apartment is bright & cozy
Hi, Taylor, Congrats on the subscriber milestone! Who cleans your Condo? If you hire someone, how much do you pay for ONE cleaning? Do they clean the whole condo or just the living area? I often had agents that never even get back to me or don't reply etc

On the avocado, 1.40 converted to usd isn’t horrible. Med ones here at regular priced grocery stores at 1-1.50 usd. Factor In convenience, I would say it’s reasonable
Very nice apartment. I think the retail lots are mainly to cater for the occupants there; but some units are for investment purposes and empty most of the time. They don't have enough consummers. Besides there are a lot of eating places nearby. It is good that you have a scooter so that it is easier to move around.

Hi Taylor! Thx for inviting us into your lovely home. Some questions: Do you have a car? Do they have parking for a car? Or can you get round easily without a vehicle? Is M City quite cosmopolitan? Are there more locals or expats nearby? How much do you think a 3 bed plus maid apartment might cost in this complex? Could you recommend a good bank to use and good realtor to secure a property? If you did not live in M City which other complexes would you recommend an ex-pat could look at? Sorry for all the questions - your videos are tempting me to try for a MM2H visa!
@@andrewtaylor4558 Ah, yes, that’s very nice. Your sister must have liked this Airbnb very much. Gorgeous views. Did you remember how much she paid per night?
@@Mongoose-ct6us You bet? The application for MM2H Sarawak has been increasing , eventhough application for MM2H Malaysia had dwindle due to the increase in requirement
The avocados in Florida have gotten a lot more expensive than five for a dollar now. . I know I paid more than a dollar for each avocado when I bought some last week.
I knew an American family who forgo the regular expats neighborhood and living in a local neighborhood and love the community near Kuala Lumpur as the husband works at thehe twin towers
Hi Andrew, did you mention how much a comparable unit like yours would cost to buy ? ( vs $410 rent ). As you know, expats who want to buy real estate must purchase real estate with a minimum price of 1,000,000 ringit ( ~ $230K USD ).
Hey Andrew! Thank you so much for making this! I'm making a goal to move to Malaysia for 2-5 years hopefully in the coming two years. The aim is to hopefully save enough money while being abroad there to be able to buy a home back in the US once I settle down. I was wondering if you had any recommendations or suggestions on making this happen!
Odd the building's black as that would tend to absorb a lot of solar heating in a hot tropical country unless it's mainly from the tinting of the glass to keep out the glare?
@@andrewtaylor4558 Probably it Andrew, looked pretty glassy at first glance :) You do great videos and can turn your hobby into an advisory business for expats looking to retire in Malaysia :)
Great video, Taylor. Thank you. Do units like that come furnished, by chance? I have yet to visit Malaysia but hope to visit in the next year or two to help line up future plans.
The condo looks fine. I was really surprised at the price. You said $410 a month. Unbelievable. I imagine that you furnished it yourself. I wondered, what about parking?
Aust avo at just about aud2 isnt too bad!! Currently in a large chain supermarket in syd (this is one of the large 2 chains in aust) a prepack of 5 avocados $7.90. To choose for yourself, each avocado is $1.90. Organic is $4.50 per avo.
@@andrewtaylor4558 in between seasons i think. In summer, we can get it for a dollar each or even 80cents. Some years we have a bumper crop which helps with the price. Currently, our prices have risen with inflation and unfortunately, most everything has increased quite substantially in price.
Thanks for sharing, Beautiful apartment and PRICE. IS Malaysia a pet friendly place for people that have their beloved pets?? Wanted to let you know that Avocados are extremely expensive in USA now. My friend pays 6.00 each for them in Oregon.I live in Latin America now for 2 years and everything is cheap here but USA is extremely expensive, my daughter pays $12.00 for a dozen eggs in Florida now. Food is so expensive now there. Malaysia seems beautiful and we want to visit there.
Malaysia is semi pet friendly. Depending on what type of pets and where. Cats shouldn't be a problem. But since we are a muslim majority country, most restaurants prefer you dont bring your dogs into the establishment. You shouldn't have problem bringing your dog for walks if its on a leash. Most appartment doesnt mind you keeping pets but if your dogs bark alot, your muslim neighbors may not like it. However there are many non muslim majority suburbs where dogs are welcomed. In my suburb, i have muslim neighbours who own dogs themselves. However they are a tiny minority. Overall where most foreigners choose to live, dogs are mostly welcome.
@andrewtaylor4558 thanks Andrew. We will do airbnb. Thinking of KL over Penang as we have a small kid and think there are more to do in KL for kids than Penang.

Some questions:
Do you have a car? Do they have parking for a car? Or can you get round easily without a vehicle?
Is M City quite cosmopolitan? Are there more locals or expats nearby?
How much do you think a 3 bed plus maid apartment might cost in this complex?
Could you recommend a good bank to use and good realtor to secure a property?
If you did not live in M City which other complexes would you recommend an ex-pat could look at?
Sorry for all the questions - your videos are tempting me to try for a MM2H visa!
Sorry too many questions! 😂
Just found your video and I love watching it❤ Thank you for sharing 👍
Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much, Andrew. It's lovely. I have to believe the unit comes unfurnished - surely?
Yes, unfurnished. 😊
Appreciate the redux and seeing the added building features. It will be on my hit list . 😉congratulations on your 10k milestone! 👍
😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
Thanks 😊
hello Taylor! Glad I found your channel!
Thanks 😊
If you did say it in the emperial system, write it in the Great metric system💐🌸🌷🌼🌻🌺🥀🌹🏵💮🌾
$410 a month? WOW! That's a extremely nice place for that price point! Thanks Andrew.
Will be looking forward to meet you once I am ready to retire in South East Asia
Here’s an idea. Do a tour of the one story studio if you know a neighbor or if the property manager will allow you to in a currently empty unit.
There are a couple pics of a one bedroom in my building in the beginning of this video. ruclips.net/video/HItt4jJ-AE0/видео.html
@@andrewtaylor4558 Ah, yes, that’s very nice. Your sister must have liked this Airbnb very much. Gorgeous views. Did you remember how much she paid per night?
@@heythave I think about US 50 per night.
@@andrewtaylor4558 That’s very reasonable. Thanks.
You are such a good salesman. I want to move there but the qualifications are ridiculous. Who can have $10,000 a month in income? Not many people
The government is revising the terms. Hopefully, it'll change for the better soon.
@@Mongoose-ct6us too many applicants for the previous qualifications. thus the goverment has to be selective..
@@Mongoose-ct6us You bet? The application for MM2H Sarawak has been increasing , eventhough application for MM2H Malaysia had dwindle due to the increase in requirement

Thank u for this wonderful video n content.
Wow many more subscribers now.
Keep up the good work.
I know, can’t believe it 😊
I agree with you on the retail space. It is just too much of it in KL.
First I thought,ohhhh.... another one of those videos, but some how I kind of like watching yours,at least it makes my day....
Thanks 😊
There are units both below and above rm 1,000,000 in M City. 😊
Nice apartment and love how you've done it up!
Thank you so much 😊
Wow this is near to my house. I usually have Indian banana leaf food opporsite called tripphutthi. Tasty food
Pool in a shade is a very good idea. You won't get sunburn, which is dangerous.
Yes but the water is very cold. 😂
@@andrewtaylor4558 would be nice if they warm it up:)) on the opposite, in Clearwater is too warm
What are the requirements for renting an apartment in KL?
Sounds like a plan! 🤗
Love your videos Taylor ❤❤❤
Avocados outside village grocer is less than that. Rm 5. But it depends on season too.
Odd the building's black as that would tend to absorb a lot of solar heating in a hot tropical country unless it's mainly from the tinting of the glass to keep out the glare?
I think that’s it. The glass tinting. 😊
@@andrewtaylor4558 Probably it Andrew, looked pretty glassy at first glance :) You do great videos and can turn your hobby into an advisory business for expats looking to retire in Malaysia :)
@@clarenceandre9315 Thanks but I’m supposed to be retired. This RUclips channel is enough for me now. 😊
@@andrewtaylor4558 Haha you're right, enjoy your retirement Andrew! Look me up if you're ever in Singapore 😄
Congratulations surpassing 10K subscribers ❤
Thanks 😊
Thanks for the tour. Very informative.
I pay 5x this in Chicago for a much older, worse apartment 😭 Thank you Taylor for giving me hope I can one day have a nice retirement
I hope so too! 😊
Beautiful apartment Taylor 🙏❤👍
Great video, Taylor. Thank you. Do units like that come furnished, by chance? I have yet to visit Malaysia but hope to visit in the next year or two to help line up future plans.
Yes, most are furnished, mine wasn’t, there are also Airbnb units in the building. 😊
@@andrewtaylor4558 Thank you so much!
The condo looks fine. I was really surprised at the price. You said $410 a month. Unbelievable. I imagine that you furnished it yourself. I wondered, what about parking?
Yes, I furnished the apartment myself. It comes with one garage parking space.
This is so great! Thank you for the vid and replying to my email.
You are so welcome!
The homestay is massive compared to London hotels, very dingy and expensive.
Aust avo at just about aud2 isnt too bad!! Currently in a large chain supermarket in syd (this is one of the large 2 chains in aust) a prepack of 5 avocados $7.90. To choose for yourself, each avocado is $1.90. Organic is $4.50 per avo.
I guess they are expensive everywhere now! 😂
@@andrewtaylor4558 in between seasons i think. In summer, we can get it for a dollar each or even 80cents. Some years we have a bumper crop which helps with the price. Currently, our prices have risen with inflation and unfortunately, most everything has increased quite substantially in price.
I enjoy your videos and your energy!
Thank you so much!
What a nice building you live in Taylor thanks for sharing
Thank you so much 😊
It’ll be great if you could do a clip on Mont Kiara. Imo, it’s the most pleasant neighbourhood in all of SE Asia.
I’ll try! 😊
@@andrewtaylor4558 I’d much appreciate it.
Wow, I didn’t realise avocados had gotten so expensive in the US. 😊
Spending a month in KL. Not sure if that building has short term term rentals. A month or so
Probably just Airbnb, sometimes they give discount for monthly. 😊
@andrewtaylor4558 thanks Andrew. We will do airbnb. Thinking of KL over Penang as we have a small kid and think there are more to do in KL for kids than Penang.
