Thank you, Taylor, for sharing your monthly budget with us. I'm glad you don't deprive yourself of good food. I know it is costly, but the comfort and pleasure of eating out or buying the brands you enjoy is a quality of life issue. Also divide the amt on food by 30 days, then divide by 2 and that brings it to $18 per person/day which is excellent. This video was very enjoyable to watch. Have a fabulous weekend! P.S. love the orange accents 😊
Hi Taylor, great video with a few laugh out loud moments. I think it's the eye-roll you do😅 every now and then. Anyhow, super informative. I like your videos because you're authentic - quite different to other videos. Happy 70th Taylor and wish you another fun-filled 10, 20 years or more. Toby.
😊Taylor!!! 😂 😆 you make my husband & I laugh. 🤭 You have such a wonderful way you present yourself. Great video as always with great information and a fun way of telling it! Thank you for sharing all this. I think some people forget... you don't have to share this personal information yet you do. 🎉
Hi Andrew I was thinking about you a couple of days ago and this morning you popped up and its always great to hear from you on life in Kl have a great weekend
Thanks for the update - very interesting! I have about the same income and trimmed a few expenses last year so I could save for a long vacation. You might want to do the same. For example, if you cut the food budget by just 15%, that would save nearly $2000/year.
Really like your apartment and the touches of orange! Congratulations on reaching 20K. I'm glad that you established yourself in Malaysia when the MM2H program terms allowed for that.
Congratulations Andrew on 20k subscribers👏🏻✨ Thank you so much for the expenses breakdown for 2024. Btw, the orange color is lovely! We love watching your videos. Keep up the great work!! Sending lots of love your way😊
Great video! Your descriptions mention something about eyes problem, perhaps give Optrex eye wash a try? Or try Vidisic (lubricant for eyes) for dry eyes. They're easy and available at most Msian pharmacies.
I think you like more spacious for your house, where you are free to roam around with your beloved kitten. Neat, clean and nice decorative items. Thanks for your info about cost of living in Malaysia.
Thank you Taylor! I’ll be moving to Kuching before the end of the year, and all your info is very helpful! 😊 I love your condo and your new colors too.
I just want to say that I absolutely love you and I wish we were friends in real life! Your personality and vibes are so hard to find in this world. Thank you for your video, it was very helpful!
Andrew, I don't miss a video and you are absolutely adorable. And Hey! I'll be your houseboy! Is Percy there to prepare your breakfast, do your shopping, run your errand, serve your cocktails, take you to dinner? You're a young 70 with lots of living left to do. Preserve yourself and get in those 6-10,000 steps a day and swim those laps! I'll even be your drill sergeant if I have to. It's a wonderful life but that medical insurance concerns me. In time I may have to whisk you back to Greece or some other not entirely exotic locale. So happy to have found you. Best!
Your budget is quite high, especially for food, but I think this video is great from an honesty standpoint. So many "Expat Cost" videos go for best-case/lowest-cost scenarios and can leave some people wildly unprepared. This is probably realistic for many people who find they can't adjust to eating at hawker centers and living in a more local style in general. Keep up the good videos!
Congrats on the 20K and you need to be a bigger channel. Have you thought about doing Tiktok for more exposure? I love your videos and how you break these prices down and it gives our family of 4 an idea of how expenses might be.
Thank you Taylor, for another very interesting video especially the issue of health insurance and medication. I have commented a couple of times on your channel how much I love KL and would have liked to have taken advantage of the MM2H requirements that you are currently under. Unfortunately, the new requirements are just too much for me, but now that you have mentioned the health cover limitations, I am less envious of your situation. In my home country, medical cover is completely free and medications are heavily subsidised, with most being around $7 Australian dollars. It looks like for me, the occasional visit to Malaysia whilst maintaining my existing circumstances seems the best compromise.
Wonderful vedio. Orange with grey looks fantastic. Visited KL in 2019 and in love with the place since. Sir, you have encouraged me to move in to Kl from Pakistan. I actually set up a pvt ltd company in Labuan in 2020 and then Covid struck. Haven't been able to take a start since. You are lucky Mr Taylor.❤
Taylor your background music is so tasteful, it's not even funny ! I very much enjoyed this video update. Is there any chance you may be giving us yet another MM2H Visa update ? This would be greatly appreciated. Sending you all my very best from Avondale, AZ.
Excellent video, Taylor! Congratulations on reaching 20K subscribers - Well done! Sounds like you are managing your resources well - no small feet in a major city. Thank you for preparing this. - Mark O
I love your videos I’ve watched a lot of them! I’ve been working on figuring out my mom’s retirement and what she can afford. I’ve been thinking about how much better she could potentially live if she moved abroad. Disclaimer I’m not a financial advisor or expert in finances, but one of the ideas I have been looking into is selling her home and converting that money into an annuity, which would give her a fixed income for life. Just an idea, of course if she needed to come back to the US not owning a home would complicate things especially with the rental prices here in the US! Keep making great helpful videos!
Congrats of the 20K subs. M'sians below 60 pay RM1 total for ALL meds maybe 3-4 times year. Over 60 all meds are free, as are blood tests & X-rays. But no supplements unless the doctor prescribes. Unbeatable anywhere in the world. Health insurance can only be bought before 65, then ends at 70. It might be possible to buy coverage with a high excess, beyond, for claims exceeding RM5,000 or whatever agreed to. Stay healthy !
🎉you hit 20K! I just got home from 2 weeks in Penang, and it was noticeably cheaper than the time we spent in KL last year. And we didn't eat at the street hawkers much. The wife insists on paying more for a place with air conditioning.😂
Always good to watch your video; thanks for the sharing ..and i love that humour peppered all over this episode....and yes...i plan to drop dead at 80 too:)))
The average HOA condo fees in Florida range between $150-$800. Florida's property taxes are moderate and they offers property tax exemptions for the elderly. Assuming you're on the moderate end of fees and taxes, your housing should be less than $1k a month. Food and all the other necessities are equal to or much less than the $2k you spend in Malaysia.
My housing would be about $1,000 a month in the US and that is with no mortgage payment! Since I would get no income from the condo if I lived there, that would give me less than $500 for everything else. Definitely not less expensive! 😂
@@andrewtaylor4558 So I was correct. Your housing is about $1k leaving you with $1k + a month for necessities in the U.S. Apparently your ta$te$ in food and drink are beyond average...and that's 👌
Malaysia value is so good. I have a feeling its maybe the only country what have so good value for your money in the world.
