Those of us who have been here for years know the score and just get on with it. It's better than it used to be. Back in the late 90s, when I lived in Paranaque and had to commute to the office in Makati, it used to take 4 hours one way to drive. Doing research on flooding ia a key part of picking a place to live here. I have been living in a condo in Pasig for the last 5 years and it's a flood-free area, even in the worst of rains.

    SOLUTION TO FLOOD BY FILIPINO:
Philippines will be building the SKY MANILA, they would put Metro Manila's 100 km x 100 km land area up by 50 meters using 500,000 posts.
There will be three levels, the ground level is the existing land, all vehicles would use the ground level,
hundreds of MRT and LRT would use the second level and therefore reducing massive amount of vehicles using the ground level and less traffic,
the third level would be vehicle less area, yes no cars, trucks, jeepneys.
SKY MANILA is walking , jogging, biking, scooting area. It will be full of skyscrapers no less than 300 meters tall, condos, hotels and offices.
Hundreds of parks, huge malls, millions of restaurants, thousands of hotels, several thousands of factories using all electric.
All vehicles will be full electric, non-electric vehicle are not allowed.
Many swimming pools, basketball, tennis, football courts, and many sports venues.
    Hundreds of entertainment arenas.
It will have airport for helicopters or any vertical take off planes. This will be finished in 2035. Flood will be the thing in the past. From Filipino concept.

Just get a raft and you'll be fine. Wait a few days and water will subside then go treat yourself for some Jollibee chicken. 😂

sometimes the water is up the knee inside the house and the power is still up in some places. mostly signal 1 or 2, the powerlines still holds up. 3 and up will knocked down some powerlines or cut some line due to falling trees. repair is after the storm passes by and mostly 1-2days depends on the severity of the damage cause by storm. so a powerbank, a flashlight, a battery operated radio, a ham radio (for disaster updates on your local govt to monitor [we dont have NOAA here in ph] and specially a rechargeable electric fan and some solar lights to at least stay comfortable during blackouts)

@@ginnfreecs2994 a rechargeable electric fan would definitely be a plus here in Angeles city!

The Philippines are the second largest country in the world! So, if you choose to live there pick a location that receives the least amount of storm damage! Because otherwise, its only a matter of time! Yea typhoons can destroy your home completely! America has given many Billions to the Philippines for typhoon damage over the years!

It's pretty good where I live, this neighborhood hasn't flooded since I've been coming here in 2011. Places like Bulacan flood every year.

      Second largest country?

With around 100 million people, the Philippines ranks 12th out of over 200 nations and dependencies, making it “larger,” by population.
