In many of these clips the water is only a few inches deep, a long way below the air intakes. They go too fast and the bow wave gets them. Water above the bottom of the bumper or valance causes this. When you see water pouring out of the tailpipe you know you have a problem.
Are there no alternative routes to take in these regions? I have never seen such a large and confident group of people that drive straight into such high water level.
Looks like the Iveco driver will be looking for a new job.
You know iveco is short for
Mass'iveco'ck end😂😂
08.15 "Super Van" "Setting the standard for others to follow" 🤣
We all laugh (I suppose you might as well 🤣) but this is why your insurance is going up hundreds of pounds (well, that's what they are telling me) 🤔
The amount of claims from people driving through Fords would have zero effect on the general insurance costs. There are far more claims for people failing to give way, running into the back of other cars, stolen cars, loss of control, etc etc etc.
@Salutimondo but the same ignorance here causes a lot of the incidents you mention
It sure does it's the same ignoramuses doing all those things, then moan the loudest when the insurance premium rockets up... @@Owen-hg3cu
Plus all the EVs burning and causing millions in damage
This is a major contribution to road safety.
The irony of the Stickle back van getting stuck in the river 😂
The spirit of the van just wanted to go home :)
Priceless!
Zero emissions, just water coming out the exhaust! 🤣
14:26 1. How?, 2. Don’t use his driving school.
Unbelievable incompetence.
10:10 You can say what you want about French cars, but 2 Citroën made the job!
Bet “super van hire “ will be well pleased to see their customer wrecking a new truck! FFS. 😮 ps: personally I’d have used an ALTERNATIVE route. 😢
In many of these clips the water is only a few inches deep, a long way below the air intakes. They go too fast and the bow wave gets them. Water above the bottom of the bumper or valance causes this.
I am not sure on the Mitsubishi pickup, it was capable of doing this. Strange rattling noise.
The Transit belly flopping and floating was a hoot.
Turn off ignition, pull car out, disconnect air box and get water out. If the ECU have leaked it will not start but 30% it will work again
It’s called a making a bow wave. And if your engine stalls, DO NOT try and restart it. That’s the absolute worst thing you can do.
No wonder motor insurance is so expensive.
It amazes how soft in the head people are.
Best wishes from George in Herefordshire.
I’m Gunna lose my job. Don’t represent the company so badly and put the public in Danger 😊
My friend works for cadent and last month 3 of the new electric fleet vans died the exact same way with the engineers trying to get to gas main blow outs quickly and bombing it through flood water . He says it happens all the time
Literally putting the BUST in internal combustion 😂
is that a learner driving instructor, amazing
14:39 - how hard was it to not say, "You can't park there..."
If ever a video needed the theme of 'Das Boot' playing in the background, this is that video.😊
I can't believe the learner driver was more concerned for his Satnav than anything else.
Only thing the fool owned, I expect the car was leased.
Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity!
I don't understand why these roads aren't barricaded off or blocked in some way.
Because local people have the correct vehicles and how to you expect farmers to run their farms if the road is blocked off
27:20 would you like your wheel trashed as well as your motor sir or just the motor today.
It looked like the L200 was doing alright. I wonder if it was the tranny giving him trouble?
3:18 that bitsaremissing sounds really healthy
15:01 this guy should not be aloud to teach anyone to drive
Aloud or allowed?
You can say that aloud!
Maybe its best, for other road users, they are kept off the roads for a while. Bye bye car, hello public transport 😅😅
I don't understand the sheer number of foolish people there. Was physics never taught there, or at least common sense? I would open an auto repair shop right next door. It seems like it would really be profitable.
‘Stay where you are’ to the driving instructor in his underwater car. Comedy Gold! 😂
you should add a counter in the screen's upper corner, with estimated amount of cash drowned.
electronic gearboxes, electronic park brakes, all great modern stuff when you need to tow / recover a vehicle. Btw surprised the L200 didn't make it..
All great modern stuff with wiring and expensive modules that weren't designed to be immersed in dirty water and are as salvageable as waterlogged loaves of bread.
A few bent connecting rods
Is that due to water getting into the combustion chamber?
Yes..water dos not compres like air
It looks to me like the waters gone up the exhaust and blocked the exhaust rather than into the engine, judging by the steam coming out if the exhaust.
@@EaglesNest1986 No, that's steam generated inside the engine. Water doesn't burn, but it also doesn't compress, so it can blow steam if you're lucky, or it can completely destroy the engine.
@@bigglyguy8429 not necessarily, I went through a deep puddle last year and the water went up the exhaust and caused a stall, it started again and a lot of steam came out of the exhaust.
9:40 The little Citroën did it pretty well!!! 😎👍🏼
Air intake at the top of the engine. No water, just pulled the under tray off. Poor car..😢
@@DavidJenkins81999no under tray on a Citröen C1.
That little car was amazing, the under tray was pulled off , but the guy just smacked the number plate on and off they went . Heroic little car .
1:57 - I'm pretty sure there'll be a clause in his rental contract to state he MUST NOT do this.
Destroying that wagon (by choice) is probably going to be VERY costly for him/them
Rentals also have like a $5k to $10k excess.
4:14 If your car dies off in the water with a snorkel attached, I'd really like to talk to the guy who installed that... 😄
What happened to the squeaky black L200? Has the transfer case or differential locked up?
Was hoping to find the answer here in the comments :(
He seemed to be taking it carefully and the water didn't get too high. I didn't expect it to have issues.
There's two cars broke down on the other side; I should be able to make it.
What the heck were they thinking?😢😢
Drive slow and avoid the wave. Is it so difficult to understand?
Hmm it's even than not sure if you can continue to drive if the clutch is wet.
@@imtheeastgermanguy5431 I went through 2' of water in my renault trafic slowly and had exactly that problem. I think I have a slight oil leak from the engine, plus water = slipping clutch until it all spins out. Thankfully didn't get stuck,..just.
@@Veeger I saw this problem only from the old top gear where James may had a sailing car and tried to drive out of the water and said that the clutch doesn't work because it's wet. Maybe it could work with a automatic gearbox
@@Veeger some cars look like they got a engine failure or electrical issue. I wonder why they don't put sticks at the deepest point with 2' or more, a scale that everyone can see how deep it is and a sign where they say that no insurance companies will pay neither is the towing for free and on top the get a heavy fine when they still drive through it
@@imtheeastgermanguy5431 I am completely surprised that considering the damage that happens in this spot, that its not got more signs to warn drivers. The local council must be so proud to generate work for local garages/rescue services just by doing nothing.
Why are they sending the car full force making it gulp up water.
What scares me the most is the instructer in the L car, he drove into 3 foot plus of water..... what planet are these lads on????
The amount killing their vehicles is insane.
Utter stupidity
Years ago we had a huge flood all over Dublin, was driving a diuble decker, the water came up to the seats inside and the back step, everyone either went upstairs or stood on the seats and we made it through, the cars I had to navigate about not so good😂
I recon he was drunk. Looks how he was. Not right at all.
There must've been signs that this wasn't going to end well, even before the waterline reached his windows 😅 I'm also impressed by how he's just sitting in his car with the water being up to his neck... I would've tried to get out at some point...
Whats the problem? Wipers where still working. Fixing cannot be very expensive....
@@sneakprev1984 Right? How do you even keep on driving in to where the current is enough to move you and then just sit in your car half submerged 🤣
@@Alphardus yup... those Astras seem to be built as semi-submersibles 🤣 I'm honestly impressed by how far he got
