Who among you heard the sound of gunfire at the beginning of the video in Yemen? They shoot as a warning to the people who live under the flood, because the flood comes suddenly without rain, and this habit has become important for them to avoid flooding.
It appears to be an incomplete construction. You can see the rebar sticking out of the top, and it's also uneven. Maybe it's not designed to stop all the water, but just enough for irrigation. The valley looks quite fertile or green, so it must not be too dry, at least not all the time. It's a beautiful place.
Unfinished concrete is a common practice in 80% of the world and a source of structural weakness in a few years time. I guess the dam gives those downstream a bit of warning and takes out large rocks/trees?
The flash flooding is bringing down so much silt and debris that the weir will soon be totally ineffective unless they truck it away which doesn't seem likely as they haven't even bothered to complete the construction.@@pat8988
Yes, might be the dam was mid construction when repeated floods wrecking it before it could be completed. It appears that the area behind it was perhaps intended to be turned into a small reservoir or catch basin. In the OP description he seems to indicate it is a dam being destroyed by flash floods, and based on the bare rebar from high above the waterfall, it's seems clear it was intended to be a much higher dam.

How often does this happen? Often enough to try to use the water to generate we electricity? Obviously not constant but if enough could be damed coukd it be used periododically
Who among you heard the sound of gunfire at the beginning of the video in Yemen? They shoot as a warning to the people who live under the flood, because the flood comes suddenly without rain, and this habit has become important for them to avoid flooding.
This is not a dam as some imagine. It is an unfinished resort.
The beginning of the work of a bridge look at the cars you can't cross
It appears to be an incomplete construction. You can see the rebar sticking out of the top, and it's also uneven. Maybe it's not designed to stop all the water, but just enough for irrigation. The valley looks quite fertile or green, so it must not be too dry, at least not all the time. It's a beautiful place.
With the sides at nearly the same height as the middle, that dam is just a small temporary obstruction to the water flow.
A great deal of "guessing" by "armchair quarterback" commenters.
Not understanding what is going on here. Water appearing from some location .....into an unfinished concrete containment wall structure that looks like it was built by school children ......and a whole bunch of people standing around watching and taking videos/pictures. Looks like some kind of planned disaster "Flash flood first wave to dam flooding". Ends with aerial of what looks like farmland being destroyed.
WEIRD.
.
Looks like a win for the flash flood
Сколько мусора в пойме реки!!! Убирать нужно мусор и выкидывать в мусорные баки!! ((
5❤. 😊😅
I agree. There was much garbage at the base of the dam that would have been easy to remove.
So what was the purpose of that little spillway for again?
Slow down water flow movements
Impressive flood. Too bad RUclips doesn't offer translation of the audio track - currious as to what they were saying
Derka derka, hacknslash derka?
@@Ola_Uteligger”hacknslash” 🤣🤣🤣🤣
De onde veio toda esta água???
اول مره اشوف سيل بهذاالحجم ماشاالله
لمدا لا تذكر إسم البلاد ؟
What’s shocking about this is the quantity of plastic waste in the water…
And yet we have to use paper straws!
The clarity of this video is outstanding. Getting to watch a natural phenomena is also outstanding. Thanks for posting and sharing!
The engineering was impressive too!
Not quite natural though. Overpopulation plays a big part and just look at that garbage - conveniently on its way to the sea.
the clearity is so fucking
Nothing natural about this tho
@@dingbial9796 ....what "engineering" are you seeing here?
