This is the first video that I have watched of yours. I did subscribe. I am much older than you and have been living here with my filipina wife for 5 years. I have been travling here for over 25 years. We live in the Tagaytay area which is much cooler, own our house and a toyota truck. I don't drive! I let my wife drive. Driving here is crazy, with every thing from dogs cats, chickens, cows, cute girls, kids, goats, etc all walking on the roads. Nobody obeys road signs. The people are the real treasure of the Philippines. Most of the people are locals and are our friends and family. This is our paradise.
Hi John,..very good video for a "beginner" in the "Pros & Cons in the Philippines" I just became a new subscriber on your channel. I'm like you,..I don't like the snow ❄️ 🌨️ and I've been living here in the North East of the U.S. for over 46 years and I've had enough of that. Can't wait to go visit first and then some time later retire in the Philippines. Take care and keep up the great work.
john(BUCKEYES TO BANANAS) frm ohio congratulations because the vice president of america is from ohio and i am even more impressed because he is a former u.s.marines
If I move there to retire it will be 90% because I want a luxury condo on the beach! I'll be upper 60's so girl wise if it happpens that fine and if it doesn't that's fine too. I'm more worried about missing Mexican food and real Texas BBQ!
A month and a half ago, I brought back 1,500, because I will be back shortly. You brought back a lot of pesos and I agree would be a lot of bending over. I listen to many you tube channels because they each bring to new prospective. I am from Columbus. This gives me another Ohio perspective. The other being Mike's Philipine Retirement.
Every Island is different. The further west you go, the more regular the daily rain. We were just in Boracay and El Nido and it rained for about an hour every afternoon. In BGC now, it rains roughly every 3 days but also in the afternoon/evening.
First time I see your video, You seem like a person with a good head on your shoulder. I'm living in Cebu city right now. I've been to Angeles city many times before in the past. I'm on a different phase now of my life and don't really want to bar-hop that much anymore. I'm in a phase of having a regular live-in GF. Having a right Filipina GF was my goal to have a successful retirement and a good piece of mind.
Congrats on your success for surviving here the first 2 months. You've seen some things, but are still (presumably) enjoying the vacation mode (i.e., wonderful sex as often as any man could want it, unlike the West where many of us did without), the novelty of a new place, new sites, beaches, and other plusses. See if you feel the same way about the crappy infrastructure, long wait times, high noise level, being targeted to pay more, after you've been here longer. The rubber usually meets the road around the 6-month mark to a year. My advice is to continue renting, and do not enter into any contractual agreements (if you can at all avoid them). Otherwise, enjoy your stay and welcome to the Philippines!
The power outage depends on the city or place where u live. I am residing in Cavite but we don't experience the power outage most of the time. I could say once or twice a year due to severe typhoon but not mosf of the time.
i have been in Davao since the 20th of July. accidents I saw 1 accident so far and that was on my way from the airport to our apartment my Girlfriend was driving a rented Mitsubishi Expander and we came upon a vehicle verses scooter accident and later that evening i Drove with my girlfriend and her 2 sisters to the SM mall,,,,,,yes you have to push your way in but if your patient its like driving in bad traffic in california in the 80s.....I like it here so far. And No brownouts or power lose of any kind yet.
The biggest Cons is= almost every single Filipina woman want your money at any cost and wants to share the money not only for her, but to help support siblings, party, events and the list goes on and on.
This was a good video. I do have some advice for you, stop saying you no, you no, you no,you no. People say this because they are nervous and don’t have confidence in themselves it is like a teenager saying like, like, like, like, like when they talk. You could use a little better lighting but it was a good informative video. Watch this video over again and count the number of times you said you know, it had to be 100
Good vid, I have a question: Been told the best of the Philippines is in the mountains where its way way cooler, much better climate. But that means like Maylaybalay in Mindinao, would you go to Mindinao?? Do you think its safe? The State Department has an advisory and of course the Islamist guerillas are mainly in Mindinao. Some bloggers say to retire there. The cool temps is a big draw for me as I dont like 90s and 100s temps. What do your locals say? Would you go there?
Mindinao is a hit and miss from what I've heard, pretty much both sides of the spectrum! As far as temperatures, A lot of my friends here suggest Baguio! Over the course of the year, the temperature typically varies from 56°F to 75°F.
For someone whose been here 60 days, you sure look like you've been here for ages. Lol 😂 As for trash it depends on your neighborhood, in our subdivision the come like clock work just like in the US every Saturday and on Monday the come for our recyclables. We never see trash on our streets uncollected. We do live in a exclusive neighborhood though it's probably why.
Outstanding video! Apparently some people think the world's most beautiful beaches suck. These same idiots thank the world's freshest and healthiest food suck as well. They can hang out at Lake Erie and shovel their cars out from under 10 feet of snow to get to Bob Evans but not you pal you are smarter than them!
wow,,,do all older vloggers wear hats always? hahahaha. I thought filpinas do not like facial hair,,,,,just asking,,,,,hahahaha,,,,You are another vlogger in PI, it seems there are thousands now,,,,,Sorry to say,,,you guys know nothing about the PI in the short term,,,,,goodluck
A lot of us wear hats to keep the sun from burning our heads! While a lot of Filipina's do not like facial hair, this doesn't apply to all of them. Yes there are a lot of vloggers here! I've been coming here since 2011, while I'm not an expert on the Philippines, I didn't just fall off the banana kart yesterday! Thanks for the comments and watching!

That room looks relaxing!! Glad the pros are working out for ya bro. Saving that $$$ eating good and living your best “reaper” life no stress

Thanks for the kind comment! I feel the same, not much into the bar hoping, just love the country and living life!

Your right. Cavite don't get too many power outages and in our subdivision we get it back quickly. So we're not bothered by it at all.

Maybe do a video on your apartment and do a monthly cost of living.
Excellent subject matter. One trip to the filthy beaches of Texas/Galveston, USA, you will appreciate PH beaches.
I was gonna say, the cons that were mentioned depends to where you’re at, but most of all that it’s true.
Good morning to all keep watching godbless ♥️🙏👍
Good video! Good morning 🌞
Thanks so much!
Your videos are pretty good
Thank you so much! Still have a lot to learn!
Are the power outages just in your neighborhood or all over Angeles City ?
All over.
May I ask you how much your rent and where is it? I will be there on the 6th of August as in moving

I noticed it on this video while I was editing it. And you're are right, I'm still a little nervous.
@@BuckeyestoBananasthe more you practice the less nervous you get.
How much is your rent there? I'm also thinking of making the move....
