- In the world of dance, Youngkwang Joung aka 'Bboy Blond' is synonymous with explosive breaking moves. The 29-year old Korean break dancer has mastered the art of 'power moves' over his 15-year career while he -- as he describes it -- is simply doing what he loves. Famous for his strength, it's easier to list the countries Youngkwang Joung hasn't showcased his dance talents to admiring fans in, rather than detail out the destinations he has!
Together with his bboy group, Extreme Crew, Blond cemented his name into bboy history in 2007 by winning Battle Of The Year; one of the world's longest running and biggest break dance events, with Extreme.
In recent years, Bboy Blond has moved from Korea to start a new life in Sydney, Australia and it's here we had the privilege of discovering more about the dancer, including his thoughts on the Australian dance scene, his big move to Australia, and the inside story to his ever-evolving career and personal life.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
They took the actual audio of the video and put the song over it. When I first watched it I thought the same thing, but you can watch the live recorded version everyone was cheering him on and applauding. Especially the end.
MASTER BLONDE ,,,RESPECT ,,5 MINUTE HARDCORE SOLO RESPECT
They WERE clapping and cheering for him, they clip is muted and they dubbed the song over it all. At the end you can see people cheering and clapping but there's no sound. It may be the wrong crowd, but they still showed appreciation.
woah did not know Blond could pop so freeking well!!!
the king :) 15 years make he breakdance and he destroyed everytime respeckt !!!
YES !! BBoy Blond !
I can remember Blond when he was actually blonde and pretty much strictly a power guy. It's nice to see that he's evolved his dancing and added style as he's gotten older. It's what smart guys do...adapt and evolve. Also why he's a living legend in the bboy scene.
He is master teacher of bboy .
I loved this display and I seen countless Break Dancing videos, but this dude is special for sure. His choreography was impeccable, and without all the wild flipping actions all the time, it makes it a true art for sure. I rate this performance at a 10+ out of 10 possible if there was some other way to rate video dance performances. Wow! Thanks for sharing his talent TEDx Talks :) "Curated!" to my dance playlist here and shared socially for sure.
Blond Pops really well !!
que loko....muita dahora....por isso q acho bboy Blond o melhor bboy de hoje....bboy blond the best....
... And everybody on their feet with a great ovation!!!
... Chirp chirp...
I was clapping for him!! It made me sad that his audience didn't seem very enthusiastic. ;/
I know man, is a joke.
bboy blond- bboy bread
Its so cool seeing on sytycd Australia!
WUUUUUUUT that was ridiculous!!!!
Oh wow, he's living in Sydney permanently? I may actually get to see him in action after all!
I think the way the video is edited cuts out the sound, because he get the the audience to clap on beat but we can't hear it
When was the last time you've done a 5mins solo that includes power... god dam!!!
first time seeing the legend do popping... lil surprised he can
AMAZING :0
But why he didn't do the speech?
respect!!
Ted *"Talks"*
Recpect to bboy Blond, a shame he didn't do a speech
John Alekséi he expressed by the dance. thats the point of no words
EXCELENTEEEE!!!!!! WWAUU ME ENCANTO!!
Cool
freaking awesome!
good
Wrong audience blond lol. This is why the media should not be involved with bboying. Look how unappreciative they are.
Shut up!
thats right. but shows must be for everyone so that everyone knows whats bboying
How exactly are the unnappreciative?
Do some research man. TED is a GREAT platform to share and express ideas. This is not Mainstream media. The music is DUBBED! so it cuts out all atmospheric sound. In a stage/theater performance you don't disrupt the act with cheering the way through.
you can't tell anything about how unappreciative they are lol there is no audience mic and you can barely see anyone's faces due to low lighting and resolution
رائع وجميل جدا يستحق الدعم
Its called Breakin
I never knew blond could do that...
How to be a badass
woow so nice
Blonde on TED!!!
wow that 2000 :o
The crowd is so dead...
WTF nobody clapped for him at the end !!.
I believe the sound was muted. You can see them applauding Blond
Huh, he's actually a pretty good popper. Threw me off, though. :P
I like watching break dancing, particularly this guy but I see no message whatsoever since TED aligned with Monsanto about no speaking about GMO's this is becoming just "Entertaining Media" weird isn't it?
bota pra fuder
Blond wasted too much energy doing the popping moves, that's why his power moves look weak!! plus the floor doesn't look slippery. What a shame, he can do a lot better than that.
***** What the hell are you talking about? Read properly before you comment on someone.
What are you requesting? Did you think he was going to do a whole power move performance? I think he was aiming at a different taste, and the popping was apart of the whole feel. Watch and look out for more content in this performance as it was a dance. It was good anyway.
His powermoves looked weak because hes doing them on carpet. And hes not judging lol... your first reply was stupid.
ye dance dakh rahy hei ya rishta darin k janazy pet aein hen
