I'm a US citizen, I go to Immigration department and pay for extended stay, I've been in this beautiful country for a little over two years, minus one exit back to the States for my mom's birthday and my nephew's wedding. I currently have a six month extended visit with a Philippine "alien" identification card. It was a lot cheaper than a plane ticket to the states and I didn't miss any rice, three times a day 😂. I love it here, food is great and the people are very nice

@@AdventuresinAmericaUSA1Thank you for all the informations on your video, it’s a lot of help. My question is, I started migrating in the US on 2015 and still a greencard holder, I haven’t applied for US citizenship (not yet for now). And from the year that I started migrating up to the present, I have visited the Philippines 5 times, with 2-3 months vacation most of the time. Can I apply directly for or a dual citizenship right away, even if I’m not or did not applied for a US citizenship? Or do i need to be a US citizen first, and then after a couple years apply for a dual citizenship? Your helpful suggestion and good advice will be so much help and greatly appreciated. Thank you 🙏

You might have a valid I-card already, but if you use the Eservices on line for visa extension, they will charge you for another I-card. Its just a flaw with their website. You can also apply for a 6 month Visa extension, but if you only get approved for a two month they keep the difference in money. They tell you on website no refunds. Another screwup that nobody in immigration checks.

There is only a 13A marriage visa or SRRV retirement visa for permanent residency. If you have ever been in the military with an honorable discharge, SRRV Expanded Courtesy has a lower deposit of $1,500. Looking at the other SRRV options, they have a significant deposit of $10,000 or more. The only other way is to become a citizen, which can take 10 years to accomplish.

How true that we former filipino citizen and now US citizen needs a visa if staying more than 30 days before entering Philippines? I saw a complain and this just happend yesterday not letting fly by Cathay Airlines because she is a US citizen and not possesing a visa so she ended up rebooking her ticket for 30 days stay only. Please enlighten me?

No visa is needed for US citizens staying for 30 days. The Bureau of Immigration will decide if the passenger is entitled to 1 year stay visa-free in PH depending on what documents the passenger brings when arriving in PH.

how about a former filipino (now us citizen) but they changed name? one, person got married. two, common filipino first names are either 2-3 names so the person made it shorter. so her US passport is different sa old PH passport nia. maliban sa face :) they'll planning to visit PH and stay longer than 30days so they applied for a PH visa but they were told about the former filipino balikbayan program. Pero magkaiba na names ng us passport nila sa old PH passport. any info about it? thank you

If they travel with you and you/ they bring their birth certificates (to show kinship to you) they can stay in PH for 1 year on balikbayan privilege. You (as former PH citizen) must bring proof of being former Filipino such as old PH passport or PSA birth cert.

I was a Filipino citizen and left the country in 1982 for USA. I have never been back to PI since then. In 1988, I became Naturalized US citizen. Now I am considering of retiring back to PI. I wanted to be able to stay for good but also visit back in US if I need to, because my only child and 4 grandkids are staying in US. I am considering of buying a small property in the PI. I heard that the only way it's possible is to have a dual citizenship. I will definitely comply with the law. However, on health insurance if my application for dual is still in process, If I needed to go to ER, I am guessing that I am responsible for my bills.

I’m a US Citizen and I stay there for more than 30 days and and so far I didn’t pay extra days or didn’t apply for extended , I was there for 42 days exactly. So I guess it’s depends and I guess just lucky that I stay there for 42 days without any problem .

Yes, it's best to bring proof (old PH passport or PSA birth certificate). Some Immigration officers and/ or airline staff ask for it, some don't. If you don't have it & the airline staff ask for it, you may have to buy a return/ exit ticket (has happened to some ppl).

For “former Filipinos, instead of applying perpetually for a Philippine visa with fees, why not order an original birth certificate from the NSO and use to present that all the time at the Philippine port of entry for an automatic right to stay for longer than 30 days.
