@@2511jeremy I never thought of a swap like that. I do wonder how the process would be to do the swap. Good luck with the swap!
On a side note, Subaru needs to come out with a new flat 6!

Sehr beeindruckende Arbeit! Du hast die Ruhe weg und machst deine Arbeit sehr genau, für optimale Haltbarkeit und Performance. Ich fahre selber einen Turbo FA20 und wenn mir der mal Hopps geht, dann weiß ich an wen ich mich wenden werde. Allerdings scheint das Teil ab Werk schon einiges zu vertragen. Fahre seit 100 tkm gemessene 330 PS/370 Nm bei 0,6-0,7 bar Ladedruck und das Ding läuft wie am ersten Tag.

Es ist einfach schön zu sehen, wie gewissenhaft, ruhig und präzise du arbeitest. Hier bekommt der Kunde wirklich was für sein Geld!

Why did u use the drill at 11:18? i want to understand the process of whats happening
When you machine the deck, how does it affect the piston height. The piston would now need to be shorter (from wrist pin center to top of piston crown) or do you put in a thicker head gasket?
Do you have any suggestions on cylinder head work?

i think to myself ill one day build my FA20 but then I remember I work for a manufacturer that doesnt do engine rebuilds so my shop has none of these tools lol
what size tap is used in your tool to pull the dowels out of the block at 3:59 in the vid?

it's just a tap with the same diameter than the dowel pins bore with a hook welded after it...

Also verstehe ich soweit alles richtig dass dr EJ der serienmotor ist und der FA der impreza turbo motor welcher aber in einen brz verbaut werden kann. (frage weil bei mir genau so ein umbau stattfinden sollte,natürlich nur wenn möglich😉)

Wie viel Bar Ladedruck kann so ein Boxer ab? Gingen praktisch 3-4 Bar Ladedruck mit zusätzlichen Kupfer(-dicht)ringen auf den Zylindern? Grüße ^^
Klar. Der alte Saugmotor kann auf jeden Fall 4.5 bar
@@del7723 oha okay das ist krass, ja dann vlt doch lieber einen FA20 statt 1.8T vom Audi TT? finde beide eigentlich geil als Basis 🙊... bin mir halt echt nicht mehr sicher, in Überlegung ist halt ein Swap in einen Polo 9n3 mit einem KW Variante 2 ^^ ich brauchte Meinungen, was würdest du denn sagen :)
@@JannisDesigns sry, ich war sarkastisch. Ich habe keine Ahnung von dem Motor im Detail aber 4 Bar sind unnormal viel für ein Straßenauto mit Saugmotorblock. Da muss alles neu. Andere Kurbelwelle, Lagerböcke mit größeren Schrauben usw usw
@@del7723 okay kein problem trotzdem danke für die Antwort, ja ich denke 2-3 Bar auf einen gebauten Motor sollten aber schon mögloch sein und natürloch müssen kolben pleul stehbolzem lagerschalen kurbelwelle etc geschmiedet her damit der viel ladedruck abkann, frage war halt nur ob der Motor an sich so zumindest 3 bar abkann ^^

I use a cylinder chamfer cone to breake the edge after cylinder boring and honing. They work great and are fast and produce the same chamfer on all cylinders.
