Jackal is priced appropriately. 034 and IE are charging 2011 prices when all the cars were new and research cost money.

Not true as long as we continue to develop the tunes for the platform, which we are. We continue to lead the market with innovative tuning features and performance, even for B8, for example we are now developing Stage 3 tuning for the Merc Racing supercharger kit. And we have a lot more coming for the B8 platform, we just released a free mobile app, new features like on the fly map switching, improved launch control and shifting functionality, flex fuel and many more features are being developed and on the way. We are actually putting in MORE development work and money into B8 tuning than we have since we released our B8 tuning in 2015. For APR, who haven't touched their B8 tuning in years and have no plans to develop it further, then yes, your comments are accurate.
It's going to be up to customers to decide if they'd like to buy into a limited tuner who sells on low pricing but doesn't make enough money to grow or develop their product, or a company like 034 that continues to invest in calibrations, flashing functionality, new features, new stages and applications, support etc. At 034 we are confident the market will reward the best tuner with the best product, we're not here to sell on price alone, our goal is to provide an excellent value and an exciting future of continued development and performance.

@@javadshadzi4824no further development is needed if the tune is good. Needing revisions means the tune was prematurely released with risking the customer’s motor to gain the first dollar.
@@CamaroSS2236completely false, all our files are safe and optimal when released and we offer updates for free when we continue to make improvements, just like every software company in Earth. Not clear why you would try to demonize continual software improvement of a product, it’s something every reputable software company does.

Matt never talks down on anything 034 and actually endorses a lot of your products on fb pages. When people ask him if his tune is better, he literally responds with, "people who switch to us have been happy". -pretty humble response imho. Maybe I'm alone, but to me this is a disappointing response to get your point across of building a successful business and passively shitting on a very talented up and coming company who thus far has really been there for their customers. Competition breeds innovation. There are enough enthusiasts for each company to eat.
I'd encourage you to continue watching the video beyond that one line you have picked. He stated that not as a direct statement towards Jackal, but to call attention to the point that this is a very tough industry where success is not based solely on the product, but on the company structure. Specifically in this sector there have been a few cases of business that take a platform by storm for a short period of time, only to widdle away as time goes on due to the complexities of staying alive in this industry. It is a tough thing to keep going, and the point there is that any customer can be certain that 034 products and the services provided will continue to last for years to come, whereas that is not so guaranteeable with companies that are newer to the scene. Nowhere did we state that would be the fate of Jackal, nor do we inherently feel that way either.
Repeatedly we wish Jackal well in this video and we too have expressed regularly in the groups that it looks like he has a good product based on the community feedback and wish him the best. That is our formal comment and the takeaway here.
Wow, I completely agree, this video is very cringy. I’m very much not interested in 034 after watching this, not to mention I’ve had poor experiences with their customer support. Definitely going Jackal
I just think you all at 034 could act a bit more humble as you used to a few years ago. You all have become arrogant.
He’s not wrong. 034 said they didn’t want to make comments about jackal because they don’t want Tony’s wrath.
Then they implied jackal is a fly by night and might not be around long. They are no less likely to be around than 034. I didn’t even know 034 has a tune.
I’ve had dozens of S4s through my hands and never had anything with an 034 tune. A few JHM here and there.

Ok, as someone who's been 034 for over a year "stage 2+ t-body, test pipes, e40 file" I'll say this... I posted a same day, same road, same launch rpm" dragy vid between the both of yall... guess who was faster? Guess who has a better normal driving in D by a mile tcu file.... also guess who's AMAX never worked on my car, who now has a 1-4th datalog to review to see what happen after Nick posted a passive aggressive response on my video... but yet it's been 19 days since I sent that log in with several reply emails that it's being reviewed and a new file is being made for me to try.... 19 days!!! So yeah... I can message Matt or Tony, within a hour have a file for whatever I want however I want it. That goes a long way with me... also I wouldn't consider them a fly by night company, they've been around a long time, they just decided to dip into the 3.0T side of things. If you want to answer something, answer why AMAX never worked on my car with yalls tune, but worked first try and every try with theirs? Still waiting on yall... in 2 hours it will be 20 days of waiting.

Bring it on, we have been around since 2005 for a reason, we continue to lead the VW/Audi aftermarket and have no plans on stopping. New competitors are nothing new when you've been in business for almost 20 years.

Actually it is very substantive, when you've been in the industry for 25 years and been in business for almost 20, you've seen it all. That is the biggest challenge for anyone wanting to enter this space and be successful in business, you have to be able to back up your technical skills with business acumen. A lot of people have one or the other, not many have both, and that's what it takes to be successful long term in this industry - substantively speaking.

I switched from your 034 motor sports tune in my b7 s4 6 speed and now I’m running a jackal tune. Immediately way faster and my car runs way cooler. Definitely happy I made the switch.
We have never offered tuning for the B7 S4.
Yet you still can’t make a b8.5 a4 tcu tune

I stand behind anything said here, I have been in this industry since 1998, I started 034 in the early 2000s and went full time in 2005, I've seen it all and have been around since the beginning. It is a very tough industry, there's a handful of companies that have lasted more than 10 years, we are one of them and I've seen so many fly by nights come along. Bring on the competition.
I've run 034 tunes and parts for nearly 20 years. Living near their HQ in Fremont made going with them a no brainer. 034 has a proven track record of good quality products. I recommend their hardware to anyone who asks. IMO 034 became less consumer friendly when they stopped offering phone support. When I tried using their ECU tune on my C7.5 A6 and ran into issues, my only option for help was emails which were taking 7-10 days for reply. I switched to IE and never had the issue again. I love 034 hardware and you guys make great stuff, but customer service has taken a big hit in recent years. Is Jackel better? Who knows, but they do seem to be putting in more effort when it comes to customer support and care. Only time will tell. I wish both companies the best of luck.

How many days do it take to get a response?
Jackal responds within hours middle of the night and even weekends. I have the Facebook messages from Matt. Updates and revisions or something I want checked quickly handled. Never experienced such fantastic support.
Jackle responds almost instantly. Matt is amazing
B8 platform is very popular now and I can't really understand why prices for a tune are so extremely expensive ...... IE with mobile version and cable costs nearly 1800£ in UK 034 is not much cheaper, similar with APR or MRC I appreciate some products from these brands but not paying that amount of money for ECU/TCU tune 🤣
some allegedly slightly higher power numbers arent worth sacrificing the peace of mind a tune that has been around now for 10 years, with countless positive testimonials gives.
Jackal has been in the Audi game for a long time, not just on this specific platform. They know what they're doing, and they have the track record to back it up. And as far as peace of mind goes - you can hit up their customer support literally whenever you want, and they've got you covered within minutes. Don't even bother taking it from me, take it from the thousands of others that have been on the Jackal sauce for years, and see what they say!
@@x7N1NJ47x Bro you can not tell me you dont work for/ are sponsored by Jackal🤣 nah ive seen there's plenty of good testimonials. im sure jackal is okay. ive heard plenty of bad stuff too though. personally i feel very comfortable with the 034 tuning on my car, and wouldn't change it. i personally know too many people with very high milage 3.0ts, that are heavily modded on 034 software and are still experiencing the legendary 3.0t reliability.

I've been tuned by IE 034 Boost Dynamic Tuning and Jackal. I've spent a lot of money on this platform to look at all these different tunes simply to see which is best, and Jackal does genuinely outshine them all ESPECIALLY for the price.
I totally get what they are saying. I’ve gotten tunes from a couple of small companies just end up not having any support a few years later once they disappear.

Yea jackal will actually custom tune though that's about all I need to know about what's better for me. I run ported blower and higher pulley ratio than most people and they can clean my logs up with methanol too. The reality is an ots tune is not going to be as good as a datalogged tune with your exact conditions, exact mods.
