- There are fears an outbreak of red fire ants could spread to New South Wales.
A peak body, lobbying to stop the spread expects the species to breach Queensland containment lines after delay in government action.
Fire ants are no joke... I live in the Southeast U.S.A. and these things are a pain in the butt. Just to put into perspective how bad these guys can be... I had a motorcycle accident where I ran off the road and I broke both legs. One of first thoughts I had while assessing the situation was "I hope I didn't crash in an fire ant bed" lol. I then remembered I was in Kansas at the time and they don't live up there. Lol.
Import ice ants from Antarctica and send them in to battle. 💪
I live in Tennessee and fire ants are a plague. Knock them out ASAP!

You're not going to stop those ants. They are already in the wild and Australia is in the same hemisphere and also at the same latitude as their habitat in South America, basically they couldn't be more comfortable.

Put grits on the fire ant hills and it will kill them without spending millions on toxic chemical. These ants are a nuisance and their bite hurts like hell, but don't blow this out of proportion.
