What i loved about Ganondorf was that he was portrayed as a villain willing to conquest anything at any cost, but when you study his character he is originally driven to protect his people and after that driven by greed. He gained his power by going against the gods and the message he himself brings would be a lot more powerful if he weren't supported by Demise through the curse. I always loved Ganondorf, but he was weakened due to the motivation of his attacks.
It's upsetting we may never see Vaati again. Part of me hopes an incarnation, or someone similar appears in Zelda U.
If Nintendo feels like it they could easily bring him back either without reason or in the Downfall and Adult Timelines. As he isn't dead in those yet.

Commonwealth realm I hope the next villain of Zelda U is as passionate and smart as WW Ganon was. Ganondorf always monologues in a manner that makes he seem like he understands the nature of humans and knows how to manipulate them - especially seen when he talks to Midna about her people and how he managed to manipulate Zant. If only we could see that side of his in more than one stance per game, having to actually chase him down repairing the damage he does along the way akin to how the main cast of Inuyasha has to deal with Naraku manipulating everyone around him, Ganondorf would come out as a more fleshed out and better explored character rather than just the final boss!
There's potential for that there, and I'd love to see that!

Ganon wanted the old Hyrule back because it's the Hyrule he's always wanted to rule. Maybe his malice at people had temporarily simmered, but he blamed the gods for the fate of Hyrule and himself, forgetting that it had all happened because of HIM. He is just a typical bad guy, thinking everyone else is always in the wrong.
What about the villains of the entire downfall timeline? You're just gonna pass over them?

I know its been 2.5 years, but where's the entire failed hero timeline? Agahnim, The Nightmare, Twinrova, Onox, Veran, Yuga, The Drablands Witch and Dark Link all deserve to be covered, along with Ganon's incarnates and heck, calamity ganon too!
Zant was the court jester, btw. He wasn't passed over for rule - he was never entitled to it in the first place.

Fairly certain Malladus was locked up before Link and Tetra even landed in New Hyrule. Niko is still alive in ST and Malladus was ancient history.

Hold on, no. Mandrag Ganon was Ganondorf's Gerudo nickname while he was still just Ganondorf. It means "Ganon of the Enchanted Thieves". It was not his name after becoming Ganon.

I don´t consider any ZELDA game a good game (most of them yes) but i have to say the story line is always amazing!!! So creative, interesting, sometimes dark , without the need of blood everywhere, it's so catchy and deep. Great video.

I'm a little confused. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if link was sent back to warn Zelda in the child timeline, wouldn't that prevent Ganon from ever being successful in his plan so he wouldn't have ever been able to invade Hyrule after link was sent back? (with adult link no longer there).
Jack Evans The Timelines were split. Think of time in Zelda as not a single path, but a tree that branches out each time it is messed with.

Hes the emobodiment of demise's hatred for the hero and his descendants as well as the Royal families and their descendants. It wouldnt have ended well for them even if it looked like he was being a decent dude for fixing the flood. It would only have been a matter of time before he wouldve tried to use his actions to rule hyrule and create a hyrule in his image, which we all know, never looks good

You make references to real world examples several times throughout your last video, but make no mention of the link between Ganon and Zhu Bajie from the Chinese epic, Journey to the west.

We won't necessarily NOT see what Ganondorf's true intentions for the denizens of the Great Sea were... After all; think back to Ocarina of Time. The Child and Adult timelines are the clear results of temporal fuckery. But the DEFEAT timeline? That's more similar to the concept of a Dragon Break in the Elder Scrolls series; which Bethesda used to canonize ALL the endings to Morrowind; in different timelines. So; it IS feasible that Nintendo could make a Defeat timeline for any Zelda game. If enough fans desire it; it is quite possible that we will see a Defeat sequel to Wind Waker, splitting the timeline down a very different path than the events of Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks.

I don't know about the name Mandrag, but the surname Dragmire was given to Ganondorf in A Link to the Past, though it hasn't been used since.
I think they both came from the American A Link To The Past instruction booklet.
Mandrag Ganon referred to Ganon, the beast form.

I saw all the villains as incarnations of Demise's hatred as all of them were filled with hate, had a lust for power, and had similar characteristics.

My top 3 Zelda villains are #1 Zant, a psychopath who just literally walks into Hyrule and slaughters guards to take over Hyrule #2 Ganondorf, enough said and #3 Yuga, he just interests me, plus his theme is my favorite Zelda song,even though it's basically just his name being chanted haha. Also I want to learn more about Malladus I'd love for him to return, in 2 timelines Ganon is dead so he could be interesting to see we his replacement.

Dragmire is canonically Ganondorf’s last name. Nintendo confirmed this in an instruction booklet for Alttp
I have a theory. what if breath of the wild happened if Ganondorf succeeded with bringing back Hyrule in the wind waker. so another split!
I was thinking that Breath of the Wild was in an alternate timeline, but this is a good idea for how the split happened. Great job coming up with this theory!

Haloid Kusnetsov HIs name was mentionned in the game, but Ganondorf only. Video game manuals are full of mistakes. The manual makers and the devs are separate teams.
The manuals are the only thing to ever list ganondorf’s last name.
As there is no opposing information from any official source, “Ganondorf Dragmire” is simply all we have in regards to a last name

I'd like a Zelda game where there's a new Ganon, and tales of the Hero stopping his ancestor throughout the ages provoke him to be a better,more insidious villain than his previous incarnations.

Can nintendo make one of the next zelda games in the adult timeline? Im so curious what the fate of new hyrule is after spirit tracks. And please nintendo make hyrule invasion! That idea was amazing and new, i hope they do it.
While a timeline is nice to have, I've noticed that the Zelda universe didn't really have a set order of events before fans asked writers about a timeline. So games after the timeline was released happen to actually fall in line with previous games, while others may or may not properly,
