Darunia! Not only did he go after his brethren in the Temple of Fire, but he also has great taste in music. And I like Daruk too I think. Great Champion, great comrade, and he's down to Earth.

Want me to make it sadder? When Zelda returns from the Spring of Wisdom to the four Champions, you see none of them have their iconic weapons. They came to give moral support to the Princess in hopes she would discover her power. However, once the Calamity began, they all rushed to their Divine Beasts weaponless. Little did they know, Ganon would have his Blights waiting there to slay them before they could assist Link in his quest to defeat Calamity Ganon and save Hyrule. TLDR; The champions didn’t have their weapons when the calamity struck, so we can only assume they were slain weaponless while caught off guard in their divine beasts
Gorons remind me a lot of dwarves in traditional fantasy. They aren't overly welcoming at first but once a bond of friendship is formed. They will lay down their lives to preserve it, no matter the odds.
It's sad to see such talent not be noticed on a larger scale. Theses video's have so much love and effort put into them, thank you Commonwealth Realm for the amazing videos
The Hero's Bow is not the only hint that the Hero of Time returned from Termina. The Hero's Shade is the Hero of Time, so his presence confirms it outright.
And Ordona gives you the Hero's garb, kept safe for his descendant to don when the time was right. Ordon was founded in or near what was Kokiri Village by Link and his wife Malon and her family.

In A Link to the Past, before you reach the top of Death Mountain, there is a lot of huge rocks jumping down in our hero. Could they be Gorons who are (just like the River Zoras) unfriendly to Link?
i showed this and the zora timeline to a few friends and they questioned the Deku scrub timeline, to which all my reading and searching shows very little info, and that they were most likely a separate tribe independent of the deku tree.
I know i thought this too! Beside their heavy apperance in Majoras Mask w a palace and everything, they dwindle in appearances after and before. they were my favorites species in that game. They only appear after that as minor enemies/characters in other games and and our not in BOTW at all! Such a shame, its highly unlikely this would happen but i would love to see them in BOTW 2 w thier own divine beast and champiom and all!
The gorons are my favorite race in the zelda series. I would love seeing how they eat, mine, interact, celebrate and also learn how they reproduce because that really is a mystery. Another thing Darunia is my favorite Zelda character thanks to ocarina of time and hyrule warriors giving him a funny but strong and proud personality but then undyingnephalium's incarnation of him made me love him even more and I'm always happy to see him. Daruke is close second because of how much he reminds me of Darunia but also ties with Mipha as my favorite champion and character in breath of the wild.
If you’re still wondering how they reproduce I recommend going to Goron city after taking care of the Rock Roast, there’s a side quest given by two old Gorons in Tears of the Kingdom, I won’t spoil anything more
This video helps support why I think both takes place at the end if the child timeline since its the only one in the original hyrule where the goron relations were strongest
I love it when I see a new video from you guys in my feed. Keep up the awesome work, guys. I love these historic videos, so in depth and interesting the way you guys deliver it.
Gor Coron shouldn't be in BotW as he lived during the time of Twilight Princess which is in a separate timeline from the downfall timeline. BotW (I have yet to play it, mind you) appears to take place after Wind Waker in the event that Ganondorf got his wish to drain the flooded Hyrule.
It really doesn't though. The rock salt is referencing the ancient sea that you visit in Lanayru desert in skyward sword, it says "ancient sea", not "great sea". It's canon that botw takes place WAY in the future in the child timeline, Zelda herself DIRECTLY mentions twilight princess which is in the child timeline. "steeped in the glowing embers of twilight", case closed. People see things like the koroks and rito and for some reason ignore the canon dialogue in the game from Zelda's own lips to place it in the adult/downfall timeline rather than find reasons why koroks/rito could exist in the child timeline. Koroks came into the series in WW out of necessity to survive the flood. Evolution or them having just been taking on human forms in OoT is the likely event here, meaning under the right conditions they could appear anywhere. Rito are much harder to explain, it is canon in WW that the rito NEEDED a scale from Valoo to grow wings, this is stated by the chieftan. I think the answer is a little more simple than we think though. Now, it could've been because of the limited technology on the gamecube back then, but if you notice, the rito in WW are humans with a beak and wings. I think this means the rito in WW and the ones in botw are different... Types(?). Kinda like river zora being more fish like. I think the rito in WW were GIFTED flight/bird-like qualities by Valoo's scale while as the rito in botw might be an evolutionary strain?
That's nonsensical, though. The Zoras evolved into the Rito; that's in the canon of the game. a) How do Zoras and Rito both exist in Breath of the Wild and yet have no mentioned connection or any mention of each other of shared culture? b) Where did the Rito come from if their only reason for evolving into the Rito in the first place was due to "a fishless ocean"? Unless an ocean covered the land of Hyrule, there would be no Rito. Koroks, I could see bending the lore to say those were their true forms, but Rito make no sense. The game takes bits and pieces from each timeline and just sort of throws them all together and I hate that.
Okay, 1st thing i'd like to point out is that it isn't "canon" that the rito EVOLVED from the zora, just that they used to BE zora. If anything WW points towards the Rito being MADE, not evolving. The chieftain says that for a rito to grow wings they HAVE to have a scale from Valoo. This to me means Valoo is the source of the WW rito. Now, there is a lack of river zora despite how prominent the zora are in BotW, this could indicate that they were forced out by the Zora tribe as the river zora have always been aggressive, they're the monster zoras, it is possible that the BotW Rito evolved from the river zora. It'd make sense, the river zora were more fish than human, so i'd imagine that if they evolved into birds they'd look more bird than human. This is something i had pointed out, but i think the WW Rito were transformed/made by Valoo while as the BotW Rito are an evolutionary strain, this is because the Rito are just humans gifted with beaks and wings in WW while as the Rito in Botw are actual sentient, self-aware birds. This'd also explain the "lack of shared culture", the zora and river zora didn't mingle.
In the ocarina of time manga Link was friends with the dragon that was in the fire temple when it was still a baby and Ganondorf controlled him causing Link to have to slay his former friend who before actually dying began to cry
The Goron Timeline really points to a Child Timeline placement for Breath of the Wild. We never see a prosperous Goron civilization with strong ties to the Hylians on the Downfall and Adult Timelines.
While other timelines have clues pointing to them I think the Child Timeline has the strongest evidence for it, of course there are so many conflicting things we can't 100% confirm where it takes place, just got to wait for Nintendo to tell us.
The presence of Koroks and Rito in BotW cements it solidly as being a sequel to the Wind Waker. Koroks only existed in that timeline, as that form was created for them to travel the Great Sea, and the Zora only evolved into the Rito during that timeline, as well. BotW has both races, as well as the presence of Sea Salt, and the Hero who awakens is wearing islander's garb very similar to Link's attire from Outset Island. So, either the Hero in BotW IS Link from WW or he is the Hero before WW Link; either Ganondorf got his wish to drain the flooded Hyrule and Link was sealed away, or the Hero in BotW was the one who "never appeared" and caused the Great Flood. It would make sense that the Gods decided that the chosen Hero wasn't ready and sealed him away until he would be, essentially causing the existence of two Heroes simultaneously during the events of WW.
Isn't Darmani's (from majora's mask) face there as well? Even in the video clip just now i saw the sideburns and black pearl(?) necklace. Pretty nice timeline btw. I think my favorite goron has to be between Daruk, Darunia and Darmani.
15:08 Those other two gorons carved in the mountainside looks more like Darmani who is probably holding up the goron elder's son then the two named. Look around the neck. Those are giant beads. The same beads that Darmani wore. Darunia doesn't wear beads at all. Also, the smaller one looks more like a baby than an adult.
1) The Goron Ruby doesn't yet exist, so while the mark on the arm is clearly a reference to the Goron Ruby, that is only from a meta perspective, not from an in universe perspective. It is more likely that the Ruby was shaped after the symbol used by the Gorons, which does refute a couple other points in the video. 2) Goron Island is in an entirely different realm (The Realm of the Ocean King), like Termina is.... So, ya... It isn't "on the way" to New Hyrule. 3) Rosso cannot be part Goron as Gorons don't breed like Hyleans do... Like, they don't have more than one gender... ya...
Anyone else wondering how the Gorons reproduce? I mean, we never see any females in any of the games, yet there are little ones running around in several of them. Unless it's like dwarfs in Lord of the Rings and there's little difference between genders. Maybe all the female Gorons have deep voices too.
In breath of the wild we do see them in Gerudo town but they are confused about why they were allowed in indicating (to me at least) that they are likely asexual (hence why they were allowed in) but consider themselves masculine (hence the universal masculine pronouns and manly/bro cultural coding). They probably also have very little understanding of biological sex since they don't understand why they (an asexual species) are allowed in gerudo town while other races aren't. This poor understanding is reinforced by the fact, as far as I'm aware, we've never seen one in any kind of romantic/sexual relationship of any kind, only having relationships of any kind around those they consider "bros" aside from political relationships
7:55 I don't think Goron tattooed the goron ruby in their bodys. Don't make sense devotion to a gemstone only because it was a key to triforce. It's more logical that goron ruby was faceted in the format of a much older goron symbol that is their tattoo.
Just confuse things, the mountain carvings beneath Daruk's looks exactly like Darmani and his son from MM as opposed to Darunia and his. The prayer bead necklace is identical. Child timeline or not that still shouldn't be possible for them to know about him, but here we are.
Well, hyrule has never had consistent geography, so game to game inconsistency or maybe either a portion was absorbed into hyrule (possibly through a never mentioned war or diplomatically bought by hyrule from the rest of holodrum and maintained the name) or the breath of the wild version was named after holodrum when it was discovered for one reason or another.
Got a question If anyone sees this and wants to answer if if I remember right in Daruk Journal that said that he had changed his name so has anybody found where his name used to be before he changed it I'm just curious
You forgot Darmani's story and the fact that he's one of the Gorons carved onto Death Mountain. In fact he sticks out more noticeably then any of the three Gorons you mentioned (I didn't even see Darunia or that TP Goron chieftain).
Icecl Keyheart Oh my goodness. No. Termina is NOT a figment of Skull Kid's imagination. Skull Kid had already lived in Termina long before he found Majora's Mask and he even met the faries there. That quote you mention is purely fictional as stated by the developer of the Hyrule Encyclopedia book (Nintendo Dream Magazine). They set a very clear disclaimer of taking creative liberties with the series' lore in the Lore Section of chapter one and should not and could NOT be use as a canonical source. Nintendo themselves had nothing to do with that book aside from approving it to being licensed (and confirm that Termina is officially a parallel world for the last 17 years). Its like saying the manga or Hyrule Warriors is revalent to the series's actual canon when its the complete opposite. Hyrule Encyclopedia is a licensed fanbook, not an official canonical source. Please do a little research on the subject next time before unintentionally spreading false information.

Is there official confirmation from Nintendo that BotW takes place tens of thousands of years after any other Zelda game, or is it possible that the first conflict with Calamity Ganon took place between Skyward Sword and the other games, with Ganon/Ganondorf returning in various incarnations over the course of the centuries, and finally returning to his Calamity form in the events leading up to BotW?

Why do they play Tarrey Town music in the intro (with Goron City music) instead of only Goron City music?
Darunia?? Divine beast vah rudania? Is that where they got the name of the beast?
Thanks brother!
Daaaamn yall got the Fallout storyteller? Lit.
ok who does the History Channel level voice over work? I must hire them
Look man, the hylians must have some way of getting it on with the gorons because the maze game chick from Termina clearly had the hot for their kind.
Got a question If anyone sees this and wants to answer if if I remember right in Daruk Journal that said that he had changed his name so has anybody found where his name used to be before he changed it I'm just curious
15:05 that's Darmani
Dear god, how I love gorons. GORONS AR ALL DUDES ▲
I never understood why hylians were always at the head. Why didn't the Garons or Zora decided to go to war with them
You forgot Darmani's story and the fact that he's one of the Gorons carved onto Death Mountain. In fact he sticks out more noticeably then any of the three Gorons you mentioned (I didn't even see Darunia or that TP Goron chieftain).
Nayru of the Zoras with Termina beining a cogntive version of Skull Kids Hyrule i think it makes sense
Nayru of the Zoras ah well, thats that i guess. I kinda like the idea tho, remindes me a lot of Persona 5
Icecl Keyheart Well there's not really a lot of evidence saying it didn't disappear after MM
Who did that remix at 9:14??!! I need it!!
What about the Ghost Goron in mm I always forget the name off
4:09 "Rock-solid"
I see what you did there...
Any time soon a vid on the Zelda smartphone comming? :p Anyways great video
If I could have a sort of spirit animal in Zelda, my spirit race would be Gorons.
Why didn't you mention that Darmani is also carved in the mountain?
I just don't have just 1 favourite but 2 and I believe they are related.that's is daruk and darunia . Darunia is daruks grate grandfather. ??? They look so much alike. I have loved the gorons ever since they appeared in the games . Gentle Giants. Gorons rule baby..:-) keep up the great work . And thanks for the timeline.this helps me to understand them better.:-)
6:47 so this is where dabbing on the haters started
Ok but HOW does one free the goron in zoras domain????
I knew there was someone in there cuz there were little eyes that would blink but HOW?!
New Legend of Zelda continue on states that termina was a World created by Skull Kid and links memories and after link left termina vanished
3:03 what game is that from?
fantastic!
Is that the storyteller from shodycast?
As far as physical evolution, the Goron are like the coelacanth…if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
…Now, can we see one on the Gerudos?
Is there official confirmation from Nintendo that BotW takes place tens of thousands of years after any other Zelda game, or is it possible that the first conflict with Calamity Ganon took place between Skyward Sword and the other games, with Ganon/Ganondorf returning in various incarnations over the course of the centuries, and finally returning to his Calamity form in the events leading up to BotW?
best race in Zelda don't @ me
