Ah, one of my least liked genres. I really don't like how most of them basically have the exact same rhythmic block. And this is even in regard to other genres. But regardless, it's always interesting to see your breakdowns.

Jason Doe, please, PLEASE, tell me you do not speak Spanish and that you hate this genre as we hate it here (Latin America). I'm from Colombia and I'm really embarrassed by these "astistas" who represent us in the world ... I do not care if someone likes them, but this NEEDS TO STOP, their expansion is out of control and it's dangerous for Music to take as standard this pseudo-artistic music.

I’ve been in Nicaragua, Columbia, Mexico, El Salvador, my husband is Colombian and I have a friends who are Puerto Rican Reggaeton from their perspective came from panama. “El General “ was considered the grand father of reggae dancehall Hall (Reggaeton ) he was from Panama. This is what I keep hearing every time I go to a Latin community area. I don’t like Reggaeton either but if I listen to a track from Panama from the 80s and compare it to the 90s, the beat sounds exactly the same

I call bs... No Puerto Rican is going to claim Reggaeton is from Panama. Therefore you don't hear any Reggaeton songs coming from There. El General just sang Jamaican dancehall songs in Spanish. The beat is not exactly the same. Reggaeton is an evolved fusion genre birth in PR by merging the dembow dancehall riddim, Perreo( Puerto Rican underground music), NY Hip-hop, and other Latin Caribbean genres. None of those genres native to Panama. Puerto Ricans made it global now everyone wants to take credit and grab a piece of the pie. You know damn well it's two different sounds. If not, then I suggest you get your hearing evaluated 😂😂😂

Even if this genre isn't one I personally tend to listen on my own, I still love the visuals you create and the minimalistic approach to sharing what defines each music genre. I live in Argentina, and here Reggaeton is really popular in parties and clubs, sometimes it's almost the only music genre played in parties and clubs. It's made to be something familiar you can dance to, that's why almost all reggaeton follows the same rhythmic formula.

Today I discovered 10 of top 50 global spotify songs are using this beat. I mean, like completely identical (even the same bpm). Oh Music God, please save us!

I have always hated this genre but I can never miss one of you videos! I’m not sure why I hate it, but I do Despacito is the only song I like from it but that’s about it never the less great video!

I like reggaeton. Maybe people misunderstand it, it’s different from other genres, I like swing, electro swing, rock, blues, reggae, rap, funk... but reggaeton isn’t like these, it’s music to dance, not for listening, I like it when I’m in a party or with friends, but when I’m alone and I listen to music I don’t like it. Here in Spain it’s quite popular as well as trap (I don’t like trap as much but I don’t dislike it), but I agree with the fact that the lyrics are bad, they don’t make sense and in my circle of friend some lyrics are just memes.
