Brian, The P7100 is an excellent camera for its class. The battery life is decent. The battery usually lasts all day. It does have an ext mic jack. I printed some 16x24 metallic color prints and the detail was simply amazing. I had to double check to make sure the files weren't from my Nikon D90. There is a newer model P7700 that has some nice features like built in commander mode, 1080p video, 12mp cmos sensor and a faster lens. The P7700 should be better in low light and is better built.
thanks for the great tutorial, it was really helpful...iam just wondering where is part 2. could you please, could you please share the second one as well..

@jpmccormac
Burst rate is about 1 fps. If you need faster fps take a look at the Fuji X10 or Sony Nex 5n.
@pwrshots So far the screen has held up with no scratches. You can always put a screen protector.
read the reviews on Amazon. I see complaints of 'lens error"
Can you make your background blurry with this camera?
Is this a good camera and how long does the battery last alsao does it have a external mic jack
@deyefone
