  • The installation for the Minn Kota Heading Sensor is super simple. I have this on my ‪@OldTownCanoeKayak‬ AutoPilot 120 Fishing Kayak. This sensor is made specifically for the I-Pilot motor. Thanks for watching and let me know if you have any questions. Tight lines!

    Excellent excellent presentation and a quick question I plan on installing a bow mounted minnkota trolling motor on the BACK of my boat. I have a rail and other stuff in the way in the front. Obviously, if it’s mounted on the back when the trolling motor turns left the boat will go right and vice versa. But if you use ipilot and possibly a heading sensor for your tracks and waypoints, will the trolling motor steer the boat properly, even though it’s mounted in the back?

      It’s gonna track based on the orientation of the motor regardless of placement but not sure how the weight of the boat will affect it bc it’s designed for bow placement, not the stern as you mentioned.

    No testing that you can still still open the waterproof hatch?

    Can you provide a link to the battery connection pigtail you use?

    That's gonna be some awesome kayak setup when you're done. I'm creeping up on 60 & I can definitely relate to degenerative eyesight...it only gets worse. Watching your vids makes me want to buy a new kayak & upgrade my setup...maybe I could consider it a belated retirement present. Great video 👍. I'd really like to see a test/review video of heading sensor in the future.

      Thanks Chris! We should fish together sometime! Stay tuned for on the water testing.

    I have the same kayak as you and I really would like to know what kind of Remote mount you used to mount your remote to the yak ???

      YakAttack camera mount on a Navarre kayak handle.

      Thanks! It’s a YakAttack Camera Mount. Works perfectly with the i-Pilot remote.

    hmm... cant we just velcro it in the hull like just underneath where you mounted it? lol

    • @WannaFishAllDay
      @WannaFishAllDay  Год назад

      Why would you do that and have it possibly fall off or move around?

      @Wanna Fish All Day was thinking of heavy duty velcro+ gorilla tape like i use on my fish finder battery to keep it from moving. Just trying to avoid drilling holes as much as i can

      That would work too. I get it but I’m good with drilling holes all over now lol.

    What about the 1 amp fuse recommend?

    • @WannaFishAllDay
      @WannaFishAllDay  Год назад

      I just hooked it up directly to the yak power switch system. I didn’t add an in-line fuse.

    If that's your battery i see your way to close to it, it will interfere with the compass

    This is not a heading senor, it's a GPS puck.

      It’s called a Minn Kota Heading Sensor that allows the Spot-Lock Jog feature.
