When we finally meet I owe ya an adult beverage for all the knowledge you bestow upon me and the whole astro community. Your final image deserves some respect, because the attention to technical detail in it is right up there with APOD and Astrobin IoD awards. Thanks for this. Your passion for the craft is showing. Clear skies big guy.
Great vid. I have nowhere near your skill and have not graduated to mono but I like watching as it gives me ideas and concepts that help me at my current level. Thank You!
Very cool video- I learned some stuff here and I think I'm going to be a copy cat and go after that area! I love globs and reflection nebulae and I never really thought about going deeper in there. Thank you!
Thank you Avanteesh! YEs.. Lagoon in LRGB is coming. I already have several hours on it. I paused collecting data on it so I can focus on some stuff around Antares. Plenty of time left in the season for Lagoon :)
@@DSOImager haha, Too many Objects in summer. There you have a Busy Summer Season. I could only Collect Some Exposures on Ring Nebula, But Now Its gotten soo Cloudy...
Thank you James - I always learn so much from your channel - lots of good nuggets here! You successfully rescued this image from the Green filter issue. Thanks for the tip: I’m going to have to turn ON my unidirectional setting in my ZWO filter wheel. Also, I like how you combined your range masks using Pixel Math. The resulting image is stunning! I’m going to add this target to my list for 2023. BTW - I just started playing with Russell Croman’s StarShrink plug-in. I’ve been struggling with how to reduce the size of my stars without sacrificing their brightness. I hope this is the answer. For now, it’s only available in PS, even though I do most of my processing in PI. Therefore, you have to jump back and forth a bit. I’m hoping to hear what other’s experiences are with this intriguing tool.
Hi David, thank you for the comments. I'm glad you are picking up things in my videos :) That starshrink plugin sounds interesting. I may have to check it out.
Wow 😳. Cool stuff James! I got the Sammy 135 prepped for a second night of data collection on the Rho Ophiuchus and it seems like a bummer since clouds are in ... I live on the 44.5 paralel and only have a brief window of unobstructed view... Trees ... I might have to quit this target since the opportunity window is about 1 hour per night ... So yeah ... The M16 and friends is next on my list ... Still hoping to get the the ASTAP to work with the Svbony 305 for that target. Luckily imaging with Sharpcap is in the cards as well as canon 600d for the wide field view ... Aiming for composition... That's the plan 😺 Great video! I'll get pixi sight when upgrading my HDD on my pc and reinstall the OS ... Till then... I'll be watching you for inspiratio :)
It's crazy that time is already starting to run out around Antares.. feels like it just got here, lol. I am 13° below you so that does help. Trying to squeeze out one more in that area. :) Thanks for the comments!
Great image James. As you say, not often do you see close ups of these areas as everyone is doing more widefield shots. I think your final image looks superb with the colours and the delicate dark veil overlying. Great tip about combining masks too.
As always!!! Brilliant! thank you for sharing!
Thanks Juan! Appreciate the comments :)

Thanks Dennis! Yea.. turns out the area around Antares is a target rich environment :)
@@DSOImager I also just bought NoiseXTerminator... I've heard too many good things around it to not try it.
@@AstroDenny It's pretty much a game changer for me. :)
Lovely looking result James, worth going thru all those masks to isolate the areas. 👍
Thanks Ollie!
Super photo, James! This Region is stunning. Look forward to see a photo of Lagoon nebula?
