As an outdoor apparel company, I cant tell you how many DMs I get that just say "sponsor me". And then they have 100 followers and no videos on their profile. And then there's the people who give a great pitch and then ghost you as soon as they get the free gear.

These lazy "Creators" (if you can even call them that) are the ones giving us real creators a bad name. Making it more difficult for us to navigate the Sponsor/Creator relationship world. Don't they know that these sponsors will remember them? at least be up front and say: "if I get a product, and don't like it, I won't post anything", or perhaps there's a better way of going about that.

So insightful. You inspired me years ago with properly setting up a camera for capturing. As someone in the Information Security who has burnt out, but you showed me that my pre-sales engineering skills can translate in something that I truly love! Thanks for the inspiration!

Hey Ryan, big fan of your channel. I'm 5 years into my Journey as a RUclipsr formally professional photographer like yourself and I will always wondered how you always get such great sponsors thanks for the information and keep up the great work
Absolutely brilliant video with soo much information. I'm at the start of my own biking RUclips journey and I've taken some notes for the future, providing things work out for me. Keep up the good work. 👍
So helpful!!! 🙌🏼 You've got my mind rolling and stoked for the future possibilities. If you put out a course for this (also for other things like photography and videography - love your vids on this already) I'd totally pay for it (them?). Couple quick questions: how do you keep yourself organized? Are you a notebook person? Apple Notes? Notion? Other? Also, how would someone go about the funding side of things? How do you know how much to request? is there a standard for each company? I think it's important to not overvalue yourself, but also, don't sell yourself short and undervalue yourself too.
Thanks for all the great information! My 11yo daughter is wanting to get into video editing and start a RUclips channel. She also happens to enjoy mountain biking and camping so I think that's the direction she is going to go with it. I will definitely show her this video!
Excellent video! I’ve gotten so much value from watching this channel and it’s helped me become a better content creator. From the quality of the content itself to the way the content is presented. I’m at that level where I’m starting to work with brands I use and love and found this information super helpful. Thank you!
@@lrider1428 Not sure if this question was for me or Ryan but my two cents is that there is no magic number. I think it varies from brand to brand. Some want more and some will work with less. The worst that can happen is they say no but they may also give some clues as to what they are looking for. Then you have something to shoot for with that company.
I remember the 90s when being a sell out was a bad thing. Now people compete to sellout and everyone has a price and would do anything for the right dollar amount.

I am a former ambassador for a kayak company and my friends were for other companies in the industry, so I have dealt with the "issues" that come with those contracts. Looking into the MTB world and maybe expanding back into the kayak world, this video provided a ton value for me. Thank you, you gave me some things to think about.
