What i've found is if you make an SVG file in Inkscape and try to import it to opentoonz, it may or may not take it. Congratulations on a great course! Question on Tutorial 7 please. Have 3 png images imported to Frame 1, occupying 3Columns. Is it possible to "hide" say two of them in order to Position, Scale, Rotate etc. the other?
You can hide a column by clicking on the cell just under the column name. So under col1 there is an eye. But it will still render as visible. What I think you want to do is select the col you want to work on. Select the animate icon on the left hand menu. Text will apear in front of the image that says "col1". Then you can work on that column position scale etc. Then select the next col by clicking on the col name at the top of the column. Remember the order of columns sets which are in front or behind. So col1 is behind col2 etc.
I don't have this basic room. When I want to change the scale of an image I just get an error... How do I do that? Where do I find this basic room? It is not listed in the "windows"
My version of OpenToonz looks different. I dont have the 'Basics' room at the top right. If i import a PNG, on the right it says image with a thumbnail of it. If i click on the thumbnail, I am then no longer able to do anything. Opentoonz just says "The current tool cannot be used in Level Strip mode" and I can't find a way out of it other than close the programme and start again from scratch. I tried Googling how to set up the rooms as you have. I have added a room, but can't add e.g. timeline etc - please can someone set out clear step by step guidance how to do this? Otherwise I can't follow any of these tutorial videos.
just in case you havent figured this out yet, all you need to do is import it into its own column ("Load Level", then find the image in your files and import). Then, select the frame with your image, and use shift-click to select a range of the timeline you want it as your background, then right click that selection and click "Fill in Empty Cells". This repeats the frame for that range.
hey, when i add a png to my page, it works fine the image loaded and is there, but it only has a limited area to draw in the image, how do i get to turn this are off?
Not sure what you mean but I think its because you are not using the view functions. The red dotted outline is your image size. When you roll the mouse wheel in and out out you see the full display. The red dotted line marked camera1 is the actual image you have "selected". It may be that your "camera" is covering a bigger area than your image.
Select the column with the background image then select scale from the menu. When you move your mouse (sideways), the image size will change. You can adjust it so the camera covers the whole image.
I used an online background remover to remove the white background from one of my pictures and it STILL appeared in Opentoonz. Now I can't drag and drop items I've created elsewhere into the program. I finally succeed after changing EVERY image file name to "G001", "G002", "G003", and so on until the last image. LONG STORY SHORT : The file names cannot be empty(untitled), cannot contain symbols, and MUST HAVE AT LEAST AN ALPHABET, I guess. *WARNING* : In case of importing more than one image through the Xsheet, they will be arranged in level 1 of DIFFERENT column (or layers).

If the files were named 0001.jpg, 0012.jpg, and so on the problem goes away. is there a way to place an image inside a drawing shape?... like place an image inside a recctangle?
Yes. Put your rectangle on. Then load the image. click the animate button select the col with the image in it. You can scale and position the image inside the rectangle.

are u a trump fan? I HOPE NOT
Retracted and edited: Somethings are right, somethings are wrong, there are times neither things would be right or wrong, like who to vote for, Just because somebody's viewpoint is different than yours does not make it wrong or right.
At this point i hate Trump because he's a lying piece of shit. He's a bully and a con man. I had no opinion of Trump prior to his first term as president, and no opinion on anyone who voted for him. But this time anyone who votes for Trump after the bullshit he's pulled is a fucking moron.
Biden is no better but for different reasons. They BOTH SUCK and yet we're going to be forced to pick between them. This is so fucked.
It's no longer about a difference of opinion. The man hass proven himself to be an undeniable massive piece of shit.
Bro wtf?
@@MadApplesWA "Just because somebody's viewpoint is different than yours does not make it wrong or right."
That's not exactly correct. By your logic if someone's viewpoint says "raping little kids is OK" then that's not undeniably wrong: it's just different. Think about that.
"Does that make sense?" 🤭
how do i add a background because when i try to import an image if won't go to the whole scene
