  • Carl Perkin's Blue Suede shoes set the Rockabilly Guitar world on fire in 1955. After digging really deep, I questioned whether there was any other way to play it with such an open ringy sound than to do it the way I've figured for this tutorial.
Carl influenced all the greats that came after him and with him, including his contemporaries like Scotty Moore, Eddie Cochan, Cliff Gallup and Duane Eddy, with later players like Danny Gatton, Brian Setzer and Darrel Higham all loving his style. If you're going to learn some rockabilly guitar, you've got to get some Carl Perkins' Licks down!

I've been trying to figure out the guitar solo in "Put Your Cat Clothes On", but the audio is a bit too garbled for it to be intuitive. If you've got a list of "To Do" transcription videos, I'd love to see that one!

No worries at all, it will have to be in some time because I’ve given Carl a good run the past few months, but I will circle back and that sounds like a good tune to do!

Wonderfully detailed lesson! Great follow up to this one from a few months back:

Very much digging the new background, really great backdrop for a lesson. Hope you’re digging the new Studio.
As for suggestions for future lessons, I’d love to see you work up one for Little Sister and/or My Baby Left Me…. Elvis! I’ll think of some others that are more geared towards solos only which I think is what you asked for, but dang these are good potential full song lesson material! Oh, yeah, you know I’d love to see another installment of Catch the Falcon of course!!
Thanks Adrian, I hope this message finds you doing well. 🤠

Great suggestions, I’ll get to something - likely something you’ve suggested because no one else has come forth🤣
My baby left me is a Ripper!
Yeah the new studio is great, loving it- it’s been a lot of work moving and setting it up, plus we’ve had variations of sicknesses hammer us but hopefully some routine will ensue!
      Hope you’re well CC!!
