Aoba herself was featured in the anime, and manga, In This Corner Of The World, reminded me of, Grave Of The Fireflies, both beautiful features. Take care, and all the best.
Fascinating video as always. Could you do something on WW1 German submarine classes? It`s a topic that interest me greatly but there is nearly no content about it, all WW2.
You mentioned the ships had initialy no AA armament in the video. Do the side mounted canons not count or were they installed on a later date for some unknown reasons?
Sorry if my voice sounds weak or scratchy at points, I'm getting over a sore throat.
I also say at 3:50 "triple turrets," I meant dual turrets.
If you like honey eat a spoonful few times a day. Works every time for me.
They are both beautiful ships.
Thanks Crosser for making these dream videos. As a kid in the 80s I couldn’t get enough of classic ships and now I can make up for it.🕺
Well…you and Drach…I’m sure you guys know each other.😀
I always have a soft spot in my heart for ships I have kits of waiting in the stash; Hasegawa's 1/700 Nachi.
Thanks for posting!

It was my first Japanese cruiser I pulled when I got into the game Axis & Allies War at Sea.
Rock solid and very informative video. Well done...

I'm still collecting information on WW1 submarines, but they will definitely come to the channel eventually. Thank you.
Fine video

12cm/45 would be dual-purpose and so part of AA armament. Also some sources state that these had 2x1 7.7mm Machine guns as AA when completed.
Design for surface warfare but lacked AA
too bad that model kits rarely represent ships in their 20' and 30's look,a lot of ships have more elegant look than their later variants
Very impressive on paper. Not quite a prinz eugen though.
yep bent frames and unstable gun platforms-too low in the water and overarmed
